Hello so im 15 years old and i need a little help. I have tried EVERYTHING. Both over the counter and natural. I have tried bp, proactive, clean and clear, indian healing clay, acv, salt water, manuka honey, zinc ec. and even tried going vegan before with no avail. At the moment i am eating paleo. Today i have had carrots, peaches, apricots, water, water with lemon and green tea with lemon not sugar. Im on day two of eating paleo but seriously craving sugar right now. Also Im not sure what kind of acne i have or what "message" its trying to tell my body. Im guessing hormonal because my brother had terrible acne too and his went away senior year. What are the best ways to treat it?PLEASE HELP im soooo tired of having acne and friends complaing about ONE PIMPLE i dont wanna waste my years worrying about my skin. I included some pictures of my skin (scroll past if you get grossed out easily) my camera wasnt able to capture everything and it looks better here but its much worse. I have it all all over my face, down my neck, my chest, and on my back.
Yeap - your acne looks like typical teenage acne. Luckily, it looks pretty mild to moderate and not cystic, it looks like it would respond well to a good topical regimen, that being said - your skin also looks to be peeling and quite dry. Have you tried including a non-comedgenic moisturizer in your topical regimen, that might help a bit? Also - I can tell you might be picking at your skin a little bit. While it's ok to drain large whiteheads (for example, like the one on your chin), try not to pick or squeeze acne excessively.

i actually have oily skin and moisturize using say yes to tomatoes moisturizer. At the moment i have been using only water to wash my face. What topicals would you recommend?
Hi - if you do have oily skin, I would recommend washing with something else besides water. You might try a cleanser geared towards sensitive skin without active ingredients, I use cetaphil so that's the one I always recommend - but there are others.
In terms of topicals, have you tried a BP regimen? Acne.org sells one of course, but there are others as well that people have recommended (you can look at the reviews on this site to find ones that might be helpful).
I finally found the cure for my acne; I just discovered I have celiac disease so I'm allergic to gluten. All my life, I ate everything and anything and of course, I had persistent acne from my teens till my thirties. The derms were giving me antibiotics; I even tried accutance, ugh. All my derms kept telling me the same bs; what you eat has no effect on your skin except for possibly diary. I finally fought my derm and asked him to prescribe a gluten test and instead of complying, he actually fought me in front of his intern. I'm not kidding! He told me that if I were allergic to gluten, I would have vomited or passed out or had severe symptoms. This is an Ivy-League educated derm and while were on it, my previous derm who prescribed accutane was another Ivy-Leager. I don't care what bs doctors feed you; don't trust them, be proactive and ask to get tested for thyroid, gluten , stress hormones like cortisol, etc. just ask to get tested. They will fight you because they'll benefit by having you come to their office while they're probably getting kickbacks from the drug companies. They'd rather have you as a continuous patient. Someone told me that a doctor she knows was ordered to see as many patients as possible in a given day or else...just like billable hours in a law firm.
