Hi,

Calcium Pantothenate is the Vitamin B-5 form almost exclusively used in supplements.

500mg of Calcium Pantothenate = 500 mg Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B-5) + 45 mg Calcium

When megadoses of 15-20 g of Pantothenic Acid are used to treat acne the amount of Calcium ingested is 1350-1800 mg.

Could the hair loss problems people have experienced with these very high doses be related at least partially to the abnormal doses of Calcium that comes with it?

It would be interesting to see if high doses of other forms of vitamin B-5 like Pantethine or Sodium Pantothenate are better alternatives, but the first is quite expensive and the second seems very hard to find.

Let me know what do you think?

I've been thinking the same thing for a long time
