Hi, have had cystic and regular acne on and off (mostly on) since I was 15 and now I'm 35.
One thing I've noticed, during the pregnancies with all 3 of my kids my acne and oiliness cleared right up for the whole 9 months, only to return immediately after. And it's not like I ate well. I pigged out.
It also couldn't be the prenatal vitamins, because I still take them. My youngest is 2.
I wonder what exact hormone changes caused the spontaneous clearing, and how I can mimic this without bc pills. Ideas?
Crap I didn't mean to post to diet and holistic area, but I don't know how to move it

Estrogen, progesterone, prolactin, parathyroid, cortisol, and aldosterone all increase during pregnancy.
I generally attribute clear skin during pregnancy due to the increased estrogen. I don't have any numbers, but I believe that proportionally estrogen actually increases more than any other hormone during pregnancy.
