Holistic Methods Of Curing Estrogen Deficiency?

Hi : )

I dont know if this problem of mine affects really my acne (maybe), cos it is not that bad right now and is clearing up with diet... But.. I have too low estrogen (like a woman in menopause, very, very low: i think if the lowest acceptable was 30, mine was under 10) and my LH is just a bit low, Total testosterone is slightly higher than normal.

My 3!! gynecologists said this was just normal, because hormones fluctuate and if my cicle is normal, etc they wouldnt do anything. This was last year in november. I didnt checked them out again, I guess they are better cos my PMS (getting really cold, freezing in the summer, chills, headache, sleepy) almost disappeared since I take care of my lifestyle with diet, exercise and habits. : )

But THEORETICALY what is good for treating estrogen deficiency?

Maca?

Flax seeds?

LIcorice root tea?

High fiber food?

Would soy products be beneficial in my case?

I do this right now, but what else?

hey im in a similiar situation like you here are my suggestions ;)

if you are underweight you have to gain a little fat as you know fats are really important for estrogen production

eat mostly plant base whole organic foods and fish know and then (eat the rainbow basicly)

i drink peppermint tea 2 cups a day its anti androgenic

i try to add some flaxseed to everyting its estrogenic

and mostly try to be active (but please dont forget excessive exercise=high testestesterone levels=acne)

thats all

oh thanks, I will try to get more peppermint tea. I am active, I used to lift weights and train a lot, now moderately, mainly cardio. Do you prefer HIIT or steady state cardio? Annd I definitely am not too skinny : 5 ft 8, around 128-130 pounds.

The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research published recent work showing that HIIT can actually increase testosterone levels and GLUT4 concentration. Steady-state cardio, as has the exact opposite effect. But everyting in moderation honey a max. 30 min run is more than enough and just try to be more active througout the day.

I used to be an athlete and when my weight hit the bottom (i literally had no fat on me just muscles and bones LOL) my acne erupted. So try to balance everything so can your hormones funtion proparly.Keep up the good work

Oh, Thanks a lot for the link! I guess I am doing it totally wrong now 😀 I do short but verry intensive workouts... Feel your pain with the problem...! I do think that since taking Vitamin D I feel more balanced and PMS symptoms lessened. You can try it!

I believe licorice is a phyto estrogen. I had some luck with progesterone cream, but it's hard to dose and can backfire in excess

You could add some plant estrogens like the flax you mentioned. I thought we had a thread with an extensive list, but I can't find it. Only the phyto androgen thread which had some phytoestrogens talk. Wikipedia has a list with foods that might surprise you.

Also, perhaps gain some body fat.
