Any time I try to diet, no matter what I always end up getting stomach pain. I don't know what the hell is going on with me.
I am supposedly eating one of the healthiest diet, which consists of grass fed beef, healthy fats, veggies, and sometimes fruits.
Yet I still get REALLY BAD stomach pain.
When I eat nothing but trash food, I do not get any stomach pain.
I am praying this stomach pain does not lead to breakouts...
Any diet takes time . Some vegetables may not agree with you the same way they agree with other people, either in your family or friends in your community. Sometimes the combination of foods may not be a great thing to have in your stomach at the same time. You need to find what works for you. If we lived in a world with no boxed/bagged/prepackaged/etc... foods whatsoever, people will still have to watch what they eat because anyone can have a reaction to anything. Vegetables and fruits are incredibly powerful. If you're in a lot of pain, don't push yourself to go further and assume it will be gone. Try to eat what you were eating before with as much tolerated fruit/veggies as possible. After a month or so, add in one more vegetable a day. It may take forever but may be the only way for you. It kind of was to me... I've been on my "diet" since last August and have posted pictures every few months or so with very small improvements. I'm doing this so as not to push myself.
I found that salads were causing me stomach and bowel pain. Despite people saying that you should eat salad every day, I simply can't. My gut/bowels can't handle it and no matter how much I chew it comes out runny and green. No matter how hard I try, I can't tolerate organic/garden grown/spring mix/ etc. lettuce. Spinach is the only leafy vegetable I have no problems eating, next to kale which is too bitter for me to have every day. Unless my salad is a small side next to something that's easy for me to digest, such as fish, it goes right through me. Salads cause me the most pain, so I avoid them. Maybe one day I can have them again.
It is your stomach, right? Usually stomach reactions are very quick. If the sensation is delayed for an hour or so after you eat and you're bloating in your lower torso, then it may be your bowels that's not agree with you. Maybe your not producing enough stomach acid to keep up with healthy foods yet, and the undigested food is upset your bowels. Maybe it's both. Maybe it's neither and you happen to be allergic. An allergy test is 20 to 45 bucks I think, give or take insurance. I would recommend a food allergy test, maybe that'll help a little (It didn't for me but I was still glad for peace of mind).
Some people can't handle a lot of fibrous foods (fruits and veggies). You have to do what works for you, not what other people tell you is best. MANY people have had the experience of getting more clear skin after relaxing the restrictions on their diet and allowing some "junk" to be there without guilt or worry.
Experiment with different things and stick with what makes you feel best.
Thing is, if I cannot eat grass fed beef, what can I eat then? Grains are horrible for you.
What is left?
Are you saying that it's the beef that is bothering you? Well if that's the case then stop the beef and go back to the beginning of your meat list. Beef isn't the only meat available, and I'm certain you have far more choices in your local communities. Fish is a great substitute for meat if you don't want to cut out meat overall, there's grass fed chicken which I'm almost certain is cheaper then beef, there's liver, and then there's the yolks of eggs (not the egg whites) that have ideal nutrition in them. How do you react to bacon? What other protein sources have you explored?
^ All protein sources? That's amazing, I haven't even gotten that far yet.
Don't feel bad, I can't find any either... the ones I have found year round are 35 miles away on a rural farm, and that's only from a family who gives the eggs away to their neighbors and friends. They were weary of me when I called them, and when I hung up I could have sworn they were watching me somehow. That's how suspicious farm like homes and people have become of others, and that's how little we demand those kind of eggs and other good foods. Plus a carton is like 6 to 10 bucks depending on where you live.
My towns current farmers market didn't have pasteurized eggs for a while, I haven't checked this year yet. It's important to be involved in your town and even visit the historical museum of your town so that you have a general idea of the people who live there. Go to your home towns website and look over local farms. Try looking in the yellow pages for farms as well, and if you can maintain good relationships with as many people as possible. I have a lot of friends and we enjoy sharing this kind of information. I've even done favors in exchange for lunch/snacks.
