Hey people. I made a new blog today and thought I'd share it here. It isn't exactly about diet or the holistic approach, but I do still consider it holistic because it has to do with mentality and being open to changing our focus when something isn't working. Hope you enjoy.

sometimes, i think doing too much ''healthy'' stuff can make acne worse to be honest.

i actually broke out more, when i was eating ''healthy'' by drinking lots of green juices(raw spinach, kale smooties)

taking spirulina supplements, eating lots of fermented foods. i had lots of digestive issues eating fermented veggies and probiotics. and i kept breaking out in cysts usually on my chin. and i also did flushes and 3 days fasts, i always ended up feeling very weak and crap.

So i just stopped taking all these supplements, and ate lean proteins, good fats from egg yolks, wild salmon once a week, and steamed or light cooked all my veggies such as brocolli zucchini brussel sprouts, and ate little bit of brown rice for carbs and small amounts of low sugar fruits(berries) and i barely break out now. ever since i stopped eating fermented foods, i stopped breaking out, and my digestive system was MUCH better. im getting regualr great bowel movements.coulve been the histamines that are usually high in fermented foods. i try to eat ''safe'' foods, that dont contain lots of anti nutrients, and easy to digest foods, that dont tax the body.

i think moderation is key.

Yeah I've been on the fermented foods path for so long now and they keep saying that it takes months and months to heal and you have to keep going. But then I think, what if it isn't good for me? What if I'm spending months and months making myself worse?

It's a terrifying thought, yet I still keep going. I feel it's better to try a path 100 percent before you give up.

I always feel like I experience a clearing of my skin when I change anything. Whether it be my mentality, my diet, (for better or worse), my skin-care regimen, my supplements, etc. But then my body "gets used" to it and the acne returns. I guess this is just placebo effect? Does anyone know a legitimate reason why this happens?

All I can think is that if you keep changing things often enough, maybe I'll be clear all the time?

It's all so confusing.

Good read Deja and i am happy for you that you are staying open minded to other ways.

Never be embarrassed to fail. The most successful people are successful failures. I'm not just talking wealth and status but just in general being happy.

I am who i am through my failures and it has given me balance. All you can do is learn and adapt :)

Is that you in the pic on your blog? If so you're very good looking :D

Thanks. Yeah it's me. Woo hoo for seven layers of makeup and perfect lightning! We all can be celebrities with that, lol.

No but seriously, thanks. I'll post a pic pretty soon showing my natural skin without any of the beautifying stuff so you guys can see how I'm actually doing.

I'm still getting acne, but I have to say, chemical peels are an amazing thing. Every time I do one, all the active acne I have immediately becomes scabs and starts healing. It doesn't really stop new cysts from forming but it does make your skin a lot smoother and prettier. I figure by doing regular chemical peels, I can at least hopefully stop it from scarring so bad and fade the scars that are already there.

A full review of the chemical peel product I'm using will be posted soon.

Thanks! They shrank up so much, but they're growing again slowly now. :)
