Wow it has been quite some time since I've been on here but I'm back and still suffering from acne :(

So anyways I asked my derm about going on Accutane since I've tried literally everything but she refused since my acne is not bad enough so I decided that instead of going down the never ending road of topical treatments that I would take matters into my own hands and try something different.

I have decided to start taking 10000 IU's of Vitmain A every day along with a zinc supplement at night. I will also start using Tea Tree Oil for spot treatment and drink green tea twice a day like I used to do back in my crazy healthy holistic days.

Sooo what I want to know is your guys opinions on this, or your experiences with any of the treatments that I have listed above.

Thanks in advance!! :D

Personally I found vitamins A & C to be the most beneficial, although it is hard to be sure. Vitamin C can make existing acne look a bit more red but skin seems to heal more quickly if I take 1-2g a day. Be a little careful with vitamin A though- a few years ago I took 25,000IU's a day for around 9 months & a blood test found my triglyceride levels to be through the roof. I think 10,000 will probably be ok though.

Make sure the vitamin A is beta carotene and use it for short time only.

Why would you have to use it for a short time? Beta Carotene is perfectly safe.
