Ok, well i had been smoking for about a year, when 2 weeks ago, i decided enough is enough and i've quit. My skin wasn't too bad whilst i smoked..but then i stop and this week i have had the worst breakout i have had in 2 years. 3 cysts, all taking ages to go...i dont understand...i nevr got cysts whilst i smoked and now i have these fuckers, which will surely scar.

Do you guys think there is a link...i know smoking is not good for the skin, premature aging, wrinkles, slow healing but is there an actual link betwen smoking and acne?

I guess i need some reassurance coz im just really sad atm.

x

i think i read somewhere that smokers have a lower chance of getting acne. of course i'm not suggesting people start smoking.

Might just be your system booting out toxins.

Good for you on quitting, it's the less expensive way to go.

Your body is just going to have to get used to the change.

Just like your skin gettin used to products like BP.

But in the long run you won't regret it! I promise!

Stay at it!

Let me know how you're doing!

I have had acne for 20 years and I smoke. On the occassions I have quit, my skin generally stayed the same, although I had bad breakouts to start with.

Smoking or not, makes no difference to my skin.

As said before, it's probably all the toxins coming out. I hope for your sake it clears up, unlike my skin.

Well done on giving up. I think it's probably the hardest thing I have ever done.

When I gave up smoking there was a mild improvement although I put that down to not having my fingers near my face as much.

I've been 9 months off the fags and my acne is really the same so I don't think it makes much of a difference. However, my skin does look better in that it's plumper and the right colour.

Smoking gives you wrinkles and damages your skin as well as killing you and wasting all your cash. Even if it got rid of acne I still wouldn't go back to it.

I quit smoking two years ago and it's the best decision ever. I have no regrets.

Smoking is a huge burden on the body. After quitting, it's common to experience sickness symptoms like coughing up phlegm, irritability, food cravings, and acne.
