I used B-5 for a year

It helped me get through some tough times, but it will make your hair thin. It's great for stopping the oil glands but weight the worth of it. Everytime I tried a maint. dose the oil came right back and thus the ance problem. I used all the usual B complex etc. We're desprite people and want to believe something will help us, my advice it to look elsewhere for help-fish oil, accutane, bactrim. Good luck

How badly does B5 affect your hair? I've taken medication before that made my hair fall out easier before but there really wasn't any visible difference (it didn't look like I was losing hair, it just seemed like it to me).

I'd really like to try this but not if it's going to make a noticeable difference to my hair.

If it does make a big difference, will hair grow back normally once you stop using B5?

I've been taking Pantothenic Acid for almost a year now and it helps cut down on my oily face. I've decided to try something else since this cost too much and I can't keep up with it. Cost too much and doesn't get rid of my acne.

I've been avoiding taking Accutane. Been trying to take natural supplements(vitamins) but its getting too expensive to keep it up and the results been ok. But still, if I don't have a good rest or sleep, i usually break out again.

Finally got my blood tested and hopefully I'm all good by Monday to start using Accutane. I'm taking a risk here by taking Accutane but hopefully it will totally get rid of my acne. If it does get rid of my acne. I'll continued to take natural supplements to prevent it from coming back.

My hair been fine taking B5. Try balancing it by taking other vitamins.

Hi guys,

I have been taking vb5 for a year now and i have been having this weird sensation, I have numbness on my toe, i don't know if it is becuase of the b5 but I am bit worried, i have been taking 20 pills and then i reduced it to ten like 3 months ago. I do get pimples here and there just or maybe less as when i was taking 20 pills. I was thinking that i should lower the dosage to 2-3 grams a day. what do you guys think? has anyone lower there b5 to this amount of intake with good results and has anyone had any toe numbness because of b5?

Eve.

been taking b5 now 2 months, was seeing slight results at 12 pills a day. dropped b5 to 6 pills a day about 3 weeks ago, and my skin is getting amazing better with only 3grams. its 100% working, and hopefully it will continue, im not taking any b-complex and not getting any side effects AT ALL, in my opnion 3grams a day is enough for me, 3 pill in morn and 3 pills before bed, just really hope i dont jinx my self posting this.

b5 is well worth it.

crap, I took this stuff for sooo long. It took until about 7 months before I started to clear and then I took the maintainence dossage for a couple more months. Then I stopped buying the pills and now about 2 months later I am starting to break out again. B5 almost certainly thinned my hair, that is why I stopped.

Right now I am going to try to get rid of my acne using something else for 2 months, if I see no results I am reluctantly going to go back to taking b5 again.

sigh

Hi I recently ordered Dan's BP and I want to see how it works, but I also like the idea of this B5. I am just a little scared of the extremely high doses. (20 pills a day seems like a lot) I have always been told to take things like this in moderation is it possible to achieve results on a lower dose?

I've been on b5 for a week and I'm starting to clear! I'm so happy. I started out at 3g a day and now am on about 6-8g a day. I hope it stays, I can't wait to be completely clear.

I've been using b5 (10g a day) from vitcaure with b-complex 100 (1 pill a day) for 4 months and saw noticable results after the first week. Oiliness reduced by 90% and my acne was 100% clear.

BUT I stopped using it for about 1.5 weeks because it was finshed and I was waiting for my b5 to arrive in the mail. After I started taking it again it wasn't working anymore, I was getting really bad breakouts and my face was even more oilier than before. I've been taking it for 2 months now and still no improvement.

Has anyone experienced the same problem and solved it or may know why it doesn't work anymore? I've been thinking, maybe vitacure had changed the quality of their b5. B5 was working fantastic before... now I'm back to square one.

Just wanna share my success story with B5;

i've been on it since last october. i started out with 5g, then moved to 10g, and even up to 12g. initially, i had absolutely no results; even oiler skin and worse breakouts. after about 2.5 months; i started seeing less sebum production and it just went uphill from that point on. I'm currently taking 6.5g a day and i get a pimple maybe once a month.

My advice to any1 starting out with B5 is to 1. stick with it; don't get discouraged because we are all biochemically different 2. do not take other B vitamins such as B-complexes; just eat a balanced diet and u wont have to worry about deficiencies 3. once u've seen an oil reduction, stop using all topical treatments and just stick with a mild cleanser and maybe a moisterizer (i know it's hard to do sometimes, but u'll thank me in a couple of weeks)

btw, i use the brand solaray, in capsule form.

Good luck!!

the thing about this b5 cure is that one one knows exactly how much one needs to take in order to get the desired results.

some work on low dosage while others needs higher...its alot of trial n error..alot of time 'wasted', i need to get well fast..which is why im a little reluctant to waste one month on b5 knowing doxycycline will strt doing its work in ard a mth's time....am in a deeply depressed and urgent mode right now ..:(

i cannot do anything w/o thinking abt my acne prob....and hw i can solve it..

and seems like for some it might even stop working.....and nobody knows why...is this due partly to the reason that not enough tests have been done ??..........

im thinking of gog bac to my derm...she will likely prescribe doxycycline for me again..am in a dilema on whether to tell her ive been trying out this b5 method..

but a part of me tells myself to keep to it at least for a month and see how it goes..if not, this past two weeks of effort wasted................

arghhh.....any advice ????

This is happening to me now. I cleared up nicely lastyear with B5 but I broke out again once I stopped. Now I'm back up to 8-9g a day and it's not working. All I'm getting is diarrhea.

So many people believe that B5 isn't working anymore for them because they've developed a tolerance to it. Did anyone, who is very well hydrated throughout the day, stopped taking b5 because it didn't work anymore and noticed that their urine wasn't yellow at 10g/day?

I noticed my urine to be completely clear, which must mean that my body is using up the (3.5gx3doses) of B5 easily and there is no excess B5 left to metabolize other fats and hormones. Yesterday I upped the dosage to 21g/day(7gx3doses) and it seems to be working again. Yet wouldn't that mean my body will develop another tolerance and need to up the dosage again? But then why can you lower your dosage after 3 months, does your body create a B5 storage or something? If not wouldn't you lose the effect?

Hi all, just doing a bit of research. If any of you who have been taking vitamin B5 for a long period of time (several months) could help me out I would be much obliged.

1. Have you noticed any sexual differences, in any respect? Sexual organs/orgasm etc.

2. Any difference in weight? Easier/harder to gain/lose weight?

3. Substantially more frequent toilet visits or not?

4. Difference in hair? More/less dry, thin etc?

5. Difference in skin colour? Darker? More/less redness etc?

6. Anything else unusual or of note?
