What are the specific reasons why you dislike acne?

Here are mine:

1.it makes it extremely hard to fit in, even in simple everyday situations.

2.people call me names nearly everytime I go somewere

3. I get unpleasant looks from people

4.I have a huge disadvantage when it comes to getting women to mate with.

5.it never goes away, especially scars.

6.I can't be confidant

7.it has made me not care about other people.

8.hard for me to hold down a job .

9.preventing me from going to college

10.has had a overwhelming psychological effect on me for almost a decade.

I'll never be the person I was before acne , and I may never completely recover both physically and mentally.

When I was at school and had actual spots I was accused of being dirty and not washing even though I showered twice a day and scrubbed my face until it nearly bled. As an adult and even though I rarely get spots any more due to my diet (though I do get them!) I often get accused of being on drugs or not eating right because of my pockmarking and scars.

I think the biggest thing then and now is that you are always thinking about it when you are out. It's a constant weight on your mind and even worse when you are in a good mood and out with friends and then you catch yourself in the mirror in a certain light and the night is ruined from there.

It's high time that people who simply wish to appear normal and look their best are not branded as vain or selfish and even more so that the cosmetic industry stops taking advantage of this with astronomical prices for treatments.

Vanity is looking in the mirror and loving what you see, why can't people distinguish between that and those who loathe their reflection and just want to do something to fit in?

Honestly, what IS there to like about acne? I certainly hate everything about it, and everything that comes with it. Especially the unsympathetic, judgmental family that constantly calls you dramatic. I hate the looks too, especially if I have a rather large one, I can see them literally straining not to look directly at it. It has made me bitter and cynical towards other people as well. I could care less about anyone to be honest, which is sad.

*I wish you the best of luck*
