  1. Hi Guys I have been suffering with moderate acne and tried to control it via benzoyl peroxide and over the counter spot treatments When i started University, it got worse and i registered with my University GP and was prescribed Lymecycline and topical Clindamycin (Dalacin) and after a month, it worked like a miracle with all spots gone and my skin felt amazing. However when my university finished and i moved back to my home, i had to re register with my previous GP and when i trie
  2. Hi all just looking for some guidance, I've just started using Aztec healing clay and Shia butter, I'm wondering as I use the clay then shower then apply the Shia butter, would I be able to apply the Shia butter after using zineryt topical as I have been prescribed this of my doctor along with lymecycline
  3. Hi!im totally new to posting anything about my acne! I've followed this site getting so much comfort from other's stories and advice, so thought I'd take the plunge and write one myself. Ive had acne for 11 years now, started when I was about 13 and I've never grown out of it. I generally swing between being devastated and accepting (although, this is usually when it's having an 'OK' day) I had had a brief period where my skin was immaculate! I was on the Qlaira birth control pills. It only last
  4. Hi - I'm new here. After years of ups and down with my acne (currently 39 yrs old) I went to the doctors as I simply couldn't stand it anymore. I gor Zineryt, that seems to work just after a couple of days. So I'm pleased with that. But the after taste on my face is unbearable, once I put my moisturiser afterwards it spreads on my mouth etc and it makes me sick. Once I touch my face with my hands the taste transfers to my hands, my little daughter doesn't want to cuddle with me anymore as she
  5. I had really bad acne and about 3 months ago my doctor prescribed me dianette contraceptive pill and zineryt topical treatment, now my acne has completely cleared up but my skin is still covered in red and brown acne marks where my spots were, it is not acne scarring where it is indented just marks where the spots once were, I went to my doctor and asked for Retin-a as I had heard it was good for acne scarring as it sped up cell renewal or something, the doctor said they did not have retin

Yasmin / Lymecycline / Spiro Log

So after years of reading blogs on this site I decided to take the plunge and create one myself. I have suffered with acne since I was 15 - I am now 20, turning 21 in a few months. I have been on roaccutane twice in the past and finished my second course last October. The second course was really tough, as my initial breakout was AWFUL, the worse acne I have ever had in my life, and I was left with loads and loads of red marks of which some are still visible. My face stayed clear after the ro
  7. I never really had any problems with my skin until last year when I broke out on my chin and jawline with mild acne. I had a lot of pimples and whiteheads, but thankfully no cysts, however my skin was still a spotty red mess. I went to my GP who prescribed me Duac Once Daily Gel, which cleared me in about a month. I was happy. I still had the occasional break out and whiteheads but generally my skin was fine, a little uneven but fine. So I stopped with the Duac and went about life. On a few occa
  8. Hello! I'm 16 and I've had acne for about a year and a half now. When I first began to see the signs of it I was given Duac Once Daily Gel (at this point I had moderate acne all over my face) and this cleared up all my spots in about a month which was completely amazing and made me so much more confident! However, about 9 months later it returned, ranging from mild to moderate, concentrated only on my forehead. My cheeks and chin are completely flawless however I sometime get one or two under th
  9. Hi guys. It happened. Well. I should clarify, it's happening. And fast. And it's more painful than I ever thought it would be. Resistance. I noticed that there aren't many storys out there of long term antibiotic use. I mean longer than a couple of years. I've seen 2 years. I actually saw a comment of a seven year user, but I can't think of many that have gone on this long. Well here is one. I'm nearer 11 years. I should explain. I'm a
  10. Hey I just joined acne.org this morning so please don't shout at me if I do/say something wrong. Please someone help me, I am using a prescribed topical solution called Zineryt and also some products I bought from boots by Clinique, La Roche-Posay Effaclar and Freederm. I cleanse and tone my skin then apply zineryt to the affected areas at least once a day. I am also now vegan to see if that helps my skin (most of my acne is on my chin/lower portion of my face so is apparently hormonal, while I
  11. Hello, everyone. I'm 20 year old male an I developed severe acne half a year ago and by the time I started treating it I was already covered on my body and face. After treating myself for half a year most of it is gone, only the chest remains, however the situation there is also improving slowly but surely. Here is what I do: 1. Wash with IMEX soap that regulates sebum in skin and cleanses pores 2. Apply zineryt and wait for 15 minutes 3. Apply skinoren on hyperpigmented areas and wait anoth
  12. So i'm just wondering, is it safe to use two topical treatments. I was prescribed zineryt for my acne, after years of different treatments/ medications including roaccutan i'm still getting acne that wont go away. I was then prescribed fucidin cream for a separate skin thing but I was wondering if i could use this on top of zineryt as like a combination treatment? is this safe/ effective?
  13. Hi I've had mild acne for most of my teens but the past year or so it has become constant, like 5 pustules everyday and inflamed flaky skin all around my forehead and chin. Its a lot redder than in the photos... I've tried: Salicylic acid Benzyl Peroxide- gets rid of most spots but burns and makes skin red, peeling and painful Zineryt (erythromycin and Zinc) - kept spots away for first few months Apple Cider Vinegar -just removed black heads Cutting out carbs /changing diet- reduced so
  14. Hello! I recently went to a dermatologist and he prescribed me accutane and zineryt (benzoyl peroxide) So I did what I always do and curiously googled if it is recommended to use both at the same time, I got some mixed answers, some people said it was fine, others said not to do it. So what do you guys think?
  15. So, just popped along to the doctors to discuss my cystic acne on my jaw line/chin area. Previously I was prescribed the oral antibiotic Oxytetracycline which worked a treat but this time she has recommended that I try Zineryt which is an Erythromycin-Zinc solution that you apply to the skin. Has anyone had any experience with this ointment? And what were your thoughts and results?
  16. So I was prescribed Zineryt by my doctor 8 days ago. I don't have acne, but I have scars left over from different spots as my skin is very sensitive. After my first application, I woke up the next day and had many painful spots on my chin. Over the next couple of days, I'd developed a total of 10 sore spots on my chin and two on my cheek. It was mortified! 8 days later, they've gotten better with 2 applications a day, however they still haven't completely disappeared. I have about 4, very sore f
  17. Two months ago: today: So this girly needs some advice from women who have or are suffering from hormonal acne and have used birth control to control their acne breakouts. Background: I have suffered from anorexia for the last 6 years (since I was 16) and due to this I have never properly had my periods, only the occasional one every now and again. However since maintaining my weight, still low but healthy enough (BMI 15, if that is any help to anyone), I have had a massive hormonal breakou
  18. Hi! Im 15, and up until last year I had mild- moderate acne, but I had managed to get rid of it by eating healthily- cutting out sugary foods, and using zineryt, a prescribed acne treatment. My skin had been mostly clear, apart from the occasional spot, and a few small marks left from spots. Last week I had a very big pimple that would`t go away! I popped it with a pin and it is pretty much gone, except for a red mark. Since then my skin has been breaking out with very small pimples, (mos

    Isotrex Gel!

I posted a topic like this before but no one replied, so I'm here again to do the same thing. I have been dealing with acne for around 2 years now (I'm 15). I used to have the occasional spot on my forehead or around my mouth and chin. Last summer (August 2014) I went to my GP to see what he could prescribe for it and I got handed Zineryt, the zinc based topical treatment. This worked wonders, it was absolutely amazing, within, say a month, all my spots, redness and acne had gone. Totally gone.
  20. Hi all, I'm new to this board, and I just started today my RoAccutane course, with 20mg/day. I'm 21 years, with a moderate acne, mostly on my back and arms. My face kind of cured with Skinoren and a lot of other stuff, but not totally, and no matter what I take, some of the acne cures itself, but appears right back on ... like I got to use creams and stuff daily. Anyway, back to the topic. My question is, for example ... if a new pimple appears on my face, can I still use Skinoren (or a
