  1. Ok here is the regimen I've been using and it's been working really well with a HUGE difference: -I drink 710mL of "Realemon" each week I dilute it with water and drink it inplace of soft drinks. -Take one Vitamin E twice daily -Take one multivitamin once daily (Vitamin A @ 7500IU, Vitamin C (Sscorbic Acid) @ 100mg, Vitamin E (d-Alpha Tocopherol) @ 50IU, Zinc (Proteninate) @ 10mg, and a bunch of herbal stuff) The brand is Genestra Brand for both vitamins -Use cotton swab with lem
  2. I have been taking b5 for 4 weeks now, it is working well but there is still alot of redness. So someone said to use vitamin E and/or zinc, I was wondering if i took all these vitamins(b5,e and zinc) at once, would they conflict with each other?? would it be beneficial?? if anyone has any advice or input i would greatly appreciate it, thanks
  3. I really need to know if zinc works for acne, and if it has helped you could you give me some more info on it and why it is good? thanks
  4. Right now I am using 50mg of zinc, 2000mg of vitamin C, and 50,000iu of vitamin A. So far my skin is looking very good, as I only have a few pimples. Also, when I was using Tri-Luma, my skin got reddish and peeled a little, and that is why I stopped using it and tried these vitamins and zinc ( its a mineral). Well, now my skin is normal color and suprisingly the red spots from other pimples have vanished even more than when I was using Tri-Luma, which as you know is used for fading hyperpigme
  5. There is an article in this month's issue of ALIVE on acne. It is a two page article so I will only transcribe the tips they give. Some tips: Vitamin A - very important for skin health; helps regulate sebum production. The usual recommended dosage is 25,000 IU daily for one to two months, then 10,000 IU daily. Do not exceed this amount unless advised by your doctor. Women who are pregnant should not exceed 5,000 IU daily. B vitamins - B-vitamin deficiencies have been associated with acn
  6. about three months now and my face seems to have gone worse. I don't know whether it's because of the supplements i've been using but it goes to show if your not absorbing the correct nutrients it'll effect your face. Has anyone experienced indigestion from zinc or cod liver oil supplements(maybe i've built up an intolerenceto them,(i've been using them 10 months though).
  7. Hie all.. jus wondering if anyone out there was tempted to use such products ? Stuff like neutrogena skin refiner essence/toner or the garnier lab whitening line (just launched in my part of the world) or any other whitening products tat come to mind. Do they actually help with red marks /scars ? I'm currently using clindamycin and azelaic acid. Relatively zit free now, major concern is getting rid of these annoying red marks tat make me look as if i still hav tonnes of pimples. Btw, clind
  8. I was thinking of conducting an internet mediated experiment to reproduce the Vitamin B5 results as acquired by Lit-Hung Leung. Or possibly any other treatment that has a fair degree of accredibility. My motive is that I am very interested in getting rid of acne, but I sense a great deal of superstition, irrational thinking and lack of a good method on this board. Because it plays such a part in most of our lives and affects our mental state (happy/unhappy), we seem to be less able to think
  9. Well, I decided to post my regimen. I started using Dan's BP regimen last summer - did not work for me, too harsh even at 2 1/2%. Then I tried different over the counter stuff, SkinClean cleanser, and then Retin A Micro 1%-did not work, way too red and all. Went to another derm (my 4th) and he wanted me to try either Accutane (my last resort due to side effects) or Spironlactone. Went to Naturopath at first, gave me a homeopathic medicine and then 25,000 i.u. of Vitamin A, Zinc with copper
  10. Top 10 Vitamins and Minerals for Healthy, Blemish-Free Skin -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm sure you've heard it before. “You are what you eat Now, before you assume that eating junk food will cause you to break out, let me explain. Your face will not look like a pizza, just because you ate a pizza. It's not necessarily WHAT you're eating that's causing those pimples to appear. It's what you're NOT getting in your diet th
  11. Hello, I was just reading about tea tree oil, so far I have used it for just dabbing on pure, but I think that if it has the same effects as BP but less side affects, I would use a diluted tea tree oil (from body shop or from supermarket) as like a toner all round my face after washing, and skip the BP...do you think this is a good idea to try out? I have also found something else, the zinc cream aussies use (and I am sure other nations) for sun protector, is fantastic for pimples, what I have f
  12. Well, I feel like shit as I write this since I am experiencing the worst skin breakouts I've had since maybe 3 years ago. I don't understand what went wrong. I'm thinking most likely that it has to do with my discontinuing the B5 due to possible liver problems my doctor thinks stem from it. However, it seems possible that my stopping it has led my skin back to where it was a long time ago before B5. I have been using some BP washes and homemade BP lotions which seemed to dry out the skin ver
  13. 1. Will it get rid of a few on my shoulders? (Average is about 1-3 per shoulder.) 2. How much should i take per day? 3. How much, where from? (In the UK of course ) Awesome, cheers. -Gaz
  14. Ok my situation: I have been off accutane for 5.5 months and have redness and some indentation scarring,(about 1 mm deep, a few may be deeper). I obviously want my skin smooth so what can I do, any advice?????? I am now taking zinc(45mg) daily plus some vitamin E 500iu. Thanks for you're help all! ****ps what exactly is copper peptide?? people mentioned it it sounds like a tablet, and hopeful.... :?:

  16. ~Neutrogena Healthy Defense Moisturizer, Tinted (white tube in skincare aisle, not the brown on in the cosmetics aisle) is my favorite, sheer-coverage foundation that uses zinc oxide as it's UVA sunscreen rather than titanium dioxide. I have learned to avoid t.d. as it breaks me out like the rising of the Rocky Mountains. It isn't very matte, though. ~For a soft-matte-finish sheer-coverage foundation, I like Clinique's Almost Makeup. It says in the ingredients that t.d. is the "active" sun
  17. I had had butt acne for almost half my life. It started when i was 10 and now i am 19. During the first years it didnt bother me at all, but as I grew up it made me feel very embarassed and keeping me away from everything that included my butt being seen by anyone (from sex to even going to the beach). But over the last year I got really frustrated about it and decided to take some action. First I started using some products my pharmacist suggested for body acne (Castallia, they were French an
  18. I have had severe bacne for about five years now. The first outbreak came when I was 14 and I had no idea what to do. As I remmeber I used useless over the coutners like clearasil. As a result I have big white keloid scars on my back and shoulders. Last year I was lookong on this website for a way to beat bacne and came across the head and shoulders regimen. I tried it and it worked great to clear up a particularly bad patch. After I cleared I used it sporadically, when i could be bothered. Thi
  19. Gday, A little background about me. I had pretty bad acne from about 2005-2011 when I was 14-20 and decided to go on accutane which cleared me up fully. I didn't get any bad breakouts except for the occasional one here and there until a few months ago, and my skin now looks almost as bad as when I started accutane. I have bad acne scars and every pimple I get now seems to leave a pitted scar no matter what I do. I've recently started a cocktail of vitamins to try and get rid of my
  20. Hello, I've been having heavy acne (comedones absolutely everywhere on the body and face, cysts primarily on neck, chest and upper back and along the length of the spine). I've tried for a long time benzoyl peroxide, combined antibiotics, antifungal medication, tretinoin, glicolyc acid, salicylic acid, different alcohols, sulfur, supplements(zinc, magnesium, vitamin d3, probiotics, vitamin B complex), I've spent an absurd amount of money, effort and pain and never got a permanent result or eve
  21. Hello everyone! So I've been off of accutane for a month now and my face is starting to get oil again. This of course is giving me anxiety that my acne will come back. For the past month though, I've been doing little things here and there to prevent acne. During this month, I did not get a single pimple. I recently got a tiny one though (you can barely see it) on the side of my mouth, and I believe one is forming on my forehead. That being said, do you have any little secret that I am not doi
  22. Hey everyone! So it's been quite a while since I've been on here. Well I just took my last accutane pill tonight (5 months) and all I can say is that this has changed my life! My face is not perfect, but I have no problem confidence-wise. I would recommend it to anyone, as the worst side effect I had was probably the occasional back pain (since all of the glands dry up, your back isn't as flexible, so for example lying down caused some discomfort for the first 20 seconds but then went away).
  23. ZINC OXIDE: IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 80′S YOU MAY REMEMBER ZINKA…. Back in the 80′s the zinc was not micronized so it was very WHITE, and sometimes contained the addition of a hot pink, green or yellow color! Life guards wore it on their noses and lips. Yes the 80′s did happen. So did Stussy, big shoulder pads and NEON. So why am I obsessed with zinc oxide? It has cleared my acne, healed my eczema and calmed my irritated skin while providing UVA/UVB protection. There are not enough produc
  24. I had acne for more than 12 years and finally found a solution. I tried a lot of topical products for acne: Salicylic acid, AHA, drugstore brands, expensive skin care brands and spent thousands through the years buying all these products. Finally, when I turned 27, I thought to myself I will never outgrow this in my life. However, I started exploring natural remedies for acne and this started my journey. Skin Care Regime: Facial Wash - Raw and Organic Honey Toner - Organic Apple Cider Vine
  25. Hey guys, Everytime I take vitamins or supplements (except vitamin c) my boobs get like 2 cups smaller: has anyone else has this problem? What do you do to prevent this? Thanks.
