1. Still breaking out Had a few bad days of picking that may have aggravated the situation. Mirrors and touch are big triggers for me, so I’ve already had the mirrors in my room and bathroom covered for a while. I’m using my brother’s vanity bathroom extension for putting on makeup (which I’m trying to do less but self-esteem has always been low and is even lower now that my face is extra bad) and I used paper to cover part of the mirror so I can’t lean in close and over-analyze my pores. My face

DAY 9

DAY 9 OK so, i have some confessions... i haven't been following the regime EXACTLY and i hope i didn't ruin the regime for myself. tell me what you think... i usually gently wash my face for about 15 seconds, not 10. I've been popping my whiteheads that are coming to surface :(((( sometimes i scratch my nose a little bit so it exfoliates a bit. (but i almost never get pimples on my nose.) I'm going to try to be even MORE gentle with my skin and try to follow the regime exactly. IRRITAT
3. Well, I seem to have a flurry of new spots come up, mostly on my right cheek. Not totally out of the ordinary for me but normally I wouldn't get this many in one go. That being said, they come up fast, whitehead fast, and then leave pretty fast... One thing I can't determine is whether it's the roaccutane or my moisturiser that's causing the havoc. I switched to a La Roche Posay Effaclar H, after my derm recommended the range. However, the cream has shea butter in it, and that since it's oil
4. Okay. I just need to vent a little here. I apologize in advance. WHY is my skin doing this? The initial clearing was absolutely a tease. There's this decently-sized red bump on my cheek and whiteheads on both my forehead and cheeks. This is so uncool. I have to admit that yes, my skin is getting less inflamed and these breakouts will heal like the rest, but goodness this is saddening. Especially without the aid of face makeup. I can't stop looking at my skin. Look at my photo
5. I am an 18 year old male. Suffered form acne severely for around a year. Tried all topicals and a long course of doxycycline but it came back so my derm prescribed accutane immediately because it is the severe inflammatory type that causes scarring. When I started accutane most of my active lesions had a week to calm down or so and had only got 1 or so that week but it was still very red around my face. I am on 30mg (roche) roaccutane per day (0.5mg/kg), 2 prednisolone (steroid) pills, and clar
6. So furious, spent ages writing my blog and it just disappeared!! Going to shorten this entry now. My skin has shown improvement in week 2. The original breakout has gone but a new one has taken it's place. Although not as severe, it's still quite bad. I have had several whiteheads, big red spots around my mouth and a hard cyst under my jaw. My skin overall is very red, tight, dry and flaky, as if I've had a chemical peel. Not a good look! Makeup definitely doesn't work but I can get away wit

Week 2

Week two brought on the flaky, peeling, sore skin. However I was very glad to see yay my medicine was actually doing something! I saw this as improvement although it actually made my skin look worse. the worst part of my skin being more sensitive is that sometimes large areas of my face that I don't even put differin on will just peel off my face in my sleep! It leaves me with a rug burn type scan and it's very tender to the touch. Because of this I purchased satin pillowcases and so far no sca
9. So it's been 2 weeks and 1 day since I started roaccutane and, I'm not going to lie, it has been really really hard. The last 2 weeks my skin broke out to the worst it has ever been. My confidence was rock bottom and I felt no amount of make up could help the situation as the texture of my skin was awful due to the dry skin caused by the accutane. I kept thinking, "nothing is going to work, I'm going to have this acne forever". As much as I'd like to post a photo to share, I'd be way too ne
10. I’ve just completed my second week on 30mg of isotretinoin/roaccutane. I can summarise this week in one word: DANDRUFF. If you’ve been through or are going through roaccuntane, please let me know how it’s going/gone, I love hearing other people’s stories and tips. Likewise, if anyone has any questions for me feel free to ask away! Day 8 Thursday 27th July I had really dry lips when I woke up this morning. I wore make up today too and although it clung to the dry patches a
11. Ok, so usually i update at night but i just wanted to update real quick. So its my day 10 morning and i just did the whole regime. i decided to use 1 1/2 pumps of the original moisturizer just because id rather stick with the regime for now until it works and then switch it up. also ill be putting makeup on today so that should cover the yellowness. my skin is starting to be really sensitive. No flakiness or itchiness really, but when i put on the BP and moisturizer it stings and feels like i
12. Its been a little over two weeks. During my second week with epiduo, I didn't seem to notice any difference in my skin, but it hasn't exactly gotten worse either. I did have a break out, but it was like any typical breakout I normally would get. A line down my cheek, and a cystic one under the skin that is painful to touch. My other cheek however, is relatively clear to what it had been like last week. I find that the Epiduo has been slightly helping to clear up the breakups faster, but their st
13. Dear Reader, It is Day 11. My lips are cracking and peeling off delightfully. But even more exciting are the fantastic little eruptions of pussy goo, concentrated in the corners of the nose but not averse to taking up residence in the chin, cheeks, and upper lip. They have a tendency to spontaneously burst during the day, adding charming rivulets of fluid to my otherwise quite arid visage. Tah tah for now, glitznzizts P.S., I should mention the rather odd flaking behind the ears.
14. One week in, I am already noticing hair loss, which is freaking me out. I lost TONS of hair when I went off the pill a little over two years ago due to telogen effluvium. It all grew back as far as I can tell, but it really sucked--It looked very thin over the temples and when it grew back I had a crazy-looking "halo" of baby hairs for a few months, lol. I think I'm just prone to TE. I lost hair for about 6 months when I went off the pill, which is about the length of my course. I guess I'll hav
15. So, the flakiness of my skin has improved a bit! It's still pretty dry, though. Not a big deal. What's been making me upset is that my forehead broke out with a few whiteheads. They're pretty small in size and have been healing fine, but I just wish they weren't there! I'm also getting a couple of small bumps on my cheeks, but they haven't surfaced yet. I'm pretty bummed right now. I did read that for Week 2 of The Regimen, a breakout can happen. So, I know I'm not doing anything wro

17. Today is the first day of my 2nd week on the acne.org regimen and everything has been good. I know many people experience extremely dry and flakey skin, but I haven't experienced any of that thus far. However, I do get itchy skin, but that only happens right after I put the BP on, sometimes. I've seen many videos of people where they've said they didn't experience dry, flakey skin during the regimen and their skin now is so amazingly clear. So, it doesn't bother me that my face isn't getting re
18. Hi everyone, so i'm on my week 2 (day 9) and i've been breaking out like CRAZY, seriously i didn't even break out this much before the regimen. I have 6 pimples on my forehead, 2 on my left cheek, 2 on my chin and some on my hairline. Does this mean the pimples from under my skin are coming to the surface or smth lol help. Also my skin is super dry and i was thinking of buying the cerave moisturizer, is it moisturizing enough? really want to use some jojoba oil but scared that it'll break me ou
19. I am heading to week 3 of regimen and I just started to peel and flake. How long does this last ? Any tips on helping it?
20.
Hi everyone,

I'm a first timer on Acne.org, and I could really use some encouragement from the pros! To make my story brief, I started getting acne in my early teens, it developed worse and worse as I got older till it was probably a mild/moderate case (blackheads, whiteheads on the forehead, and an occasional deep set pimple). Let me tell you, I tried the works... Proactiv, Neutrogena washes, then the heavier stuff like Ziana, Benzoyl Peroxide, and stuff I do
21. WEEK 2 Expectations 1) Less redness and dryness Thoughts 1) My skin is basically back to its normal balance - no peeling or itchiness and stinging any more! 2) I had a second flare up of acne all over my cheeks after the first purge - this time, with a lot more nodules and whiteheads. Not ideal, but they went away a lot more quickly than they usually would. It could be because I'm pre-menstrual (I have acne outbreaks a week before my period). All the acne makes my face uncomfortably warm, s
22. Hey guys! So today I just reached my 14th day on The Regimen! Unfortunately, this is usually how long I spend on every regimen before I decide to quit if I don't see results. And, I don't really. My skin cleared last week and it was incredible, but now it's broken out again and it's extremely red. It's also itchy, which wasn't happening before. I feel like the BP is causing all of this redness, and the moisturizer helps somewhat, but not completely. It's pretty discouraging. I bump up
