    Week 1

1st week was good, my acne scars got less red but I got some other brake outs but they cleared up fast and my skin got very dry in the T zone and around my mouth but I'm happy with the 1st week!!!
  2. I've been on the tane for a week! I just took my 8th dose The headaches are deffinately from dehydration so I make sure to drink lots of water. If I don't drink enough water in the evening, I feel like I'm going to pass out in the morning :/ Besides the slight headaches I get, my lips have dried out so much it's insane. My eyes have also dried out and regular eyedrops are not helping. I went and got gel eye drops for dry eyes at the drug store and they work a lot better. They don't feel thick a
  3. I am an 18 year old male. Suffered form acne severely for around a year. Tried all topicals and a long course of doxycycline but it came back so my derm prescribed accutane immediately because it is the severe inflammatory type that causes scarring. When I started accutane most of my active lesions had a week to calm down or so and had only got 1 or so that week but it was still very red around my face. I am on 30mg (roche) roaccutane per day (0.5mg/kg), 2 prednisolone (steroid) pills, and clar
  4. About 5 days ago, I began using a benzoyl peroxide face wash from Kasier Permanente at the advice of my dermatologist. Other reviews say that bp face washes cleared up their skin almost within a week but I don't see any results yet (although, I will keep using it for a few more weeks since everyone has different skin types). I've only been using washing with it for 30 seconds a day and using a lotion (Johnson&Johnson) or sunscreen after, but it seems that it might be worsening my acne. I mai
  5. From the album: My transformation

As you can see, I'm not very happy. This was right before I started my first application of the acne.org regimen.

    DAY 6

DAY 6 OK, so i haven't been wearing makeup and i feel really self conscious. Especially today because my flakiness started to show. I can't wait until this 1 month phase is over i just want to crawl into a ball all of summer. Im doing a pea size of BP twice a day. Monday i will do 1/3 BP at night or morning AND night depending how my skin feels. This morning i saw a tiny pimple forming, and by the end of today it was a huge whitehead. I popped it again SOS i need to stop picking at my face
  7. WELLL here's 1 solid week in. I'll go into some detail as to exactly what I did this week, since it seems like that's what people like on here. Ya gotta give the people what they want! Lol ok anyway: Morning: cleanser (10 seconds, good frothy lather mmm) 1/3 finger's length BP 2.5% applied gently, 1 pump moisturizer Evening: same as morning! After the first few days, I saw some great improvement... My skin felt tight, but I wasn't seeing any flakes yet... Breakouts/redness/oiliness wer
  8. Hi again So, I've successfully completed week one on Roaccutane! I have to admit it's been a busy 3 days (long weekend) as we've had friends over and places to go so we haven't stopped at all... but I think this is the key to success! Every time I get up and don't have many plans, these are the times I feel low and want to sleep constantly. However, when I am busy and surrounded by people I feel OK, kinda normal. So my advise is to keep busy and not let your mind go into overdrive!
  9. So it's Day 7 of my journey on Claravis (Accutane) and my acne is getting substantially red. It's starting to get dry but it's also smoothing down. My lips are really dry despite using Nivea hydrating lip care chapstick. I wash my face with Cetaphil Foaming Face Wash and moisturize with the Cetaphil Lotion. (You could find all Cetaphil products at CVS or a local pharmacy.) For make up, I use neutrogena & almay products because they're non-comedogenic, which means it won't clog your pores. It
  10. Hey guys! So I've taken my seventh pill of Claravis. For the most part I feel fine. I haven't noticed any improvement and my acne is only slightly worse than before I started accutane. My face is starting to get more dry. But it is definitely not too bad and I can still wear makeup, although by the end of the day my face looks cakey with makeup. My lips are starting to peel and it feels like I have a sunburn on them. However, this also is not very bad and is easily manageable with aqua
  11. Hello, so i was wondering if i can use the bp twice a day from day 1? because i think my skin can handle it . (only a pea sized amount though) or is it too dangerous ..??
  12. Hello, My name is Heather and I am 30 years old. I've always been unhappy with my skin, but now that I look back at pictures... with one or two minor breakouts, I had beautiful skin! Each year that I get older my skin has progressively gotten worse. Now I have breakouts, scars and have been disappointment all around. Also has been affecting my confidence. UNTIL NOW... I am putting my faith in Acne.org, following every "Rule" to best ability. I've been using the over-the-counter recomme
  13. I have reached the end of week 1 one retin-a micro .04%!! Overall it was pretty uneventful, but interesting. I applied the gel every other night to let my skin get used to it, as recommended by my doctor. I do have very sensitive/prone to getting dry skin, so I'm glad for this. Pretty smooth sailing. Did experience some mild flakiness, which was easily soothed/cured by Aquaphor (mostly just applied to driest spots; put it once on my whole face at night but that felt like straight up va

    Week 1

Week one on differin didn't do much other than dry out my skin towards the end of the week. But other than that, no physical improvement or decline. This is pretty much my starting point in my treatment. As you can see in the picture, my skin tone was very uneven and red and many of my pores were clogged. Also note the small car on my cheek from a cystic pimple about three months ago.

  16. Hi !! My skin seems better ! BUT YES because there is a BUT in this story. I came back to my house (where my parents live). They said "wow, your skin is bronzed. I said: WHAT, it rained all the week. That's why I understood. This is "redness". My skin is darker but it's not so bad to look. Please if you noticed the same thing on your skin notice me !

    Day 6

So today is day 6 of my Accutane journey. So far I've been breaking out more than usual, so I guess that is part of the initial break out, or at least I hope so. I'm experiencing a lot of little whiteheads around my lips and chin...annoying because they stand out so much, but hopefully that will improve! Did a lot of you guys stay on antibiotics while starting Accutane? I haven't experienced really dry skin or dry lips yet. I however did get a red face from being outside. The weather has been g
  18. Hi guys! I'm pretty new to this forum and wanted to share my story of acne prone skin & my decision of going through the Tretinoin / Retin A regime. My problematic skin history started 4 years ago with me being 24 (my dermatologist back then called it 'adult acne' - thus probably hormonal acne). I never before had experienced cystic/hormonal acne in any form(except maybe a couple of blackheads on my nose but that's it!) and when I first got one cystic pimple I didn't know what it was an

    Week 1

One week in already! Jk it was a very long week. All those bumps turned into white heads, trying super hard not to pop them but its hard let me tell you. Nothing is dry yet, skin isnt terrible but its only a matter of time I can just tell. All my blackheads are getting more and more prominent as well.
  20. Here's a little description of me and my skin before I really get into everything: I'm 16 years old and a junior in high school, in the prime of my stressful teenage years. I have EXTREMELY oily skin. Not even just in the T-zone (though it is more prevalent there), but it has progressed to my cheeks and jawline. Basically my whole face gets oily that's how bad it is. And I wash 2 times a day every day (I'm like a nazi with washing lol!) AND blot about 2 times a day. This makes it near impossible
  21. I’ve just completed my first week on 30mg of isotretinoin. I honestly thought (hoped) it would take a lot longer for the side effects to kick in – how naïve of me. These updates may be a little chatty and long, but I wanted to give a day to day account so I personally can see when it starts to get bad (and better!). Day 1 Thursday 20th July I was advised to take the tablets with the fattiest meal of the day, so for me that’s with my evening meal. Obviously, no side
  22. After SO much debating whether the cost would be worth it to try I finally took the dive and purchased the Regimen in early July. I have been dealing with painful cystic acne on both my cheeks (though my left cheek was remarkably worse) and my chin. Occasionally my forehead would join the party and sprout a couple angry red bumps throughout the month, too. My acne began 8 years ago after the birth of my daughter. I was lucky as a teenager to have great skin, the occasional pimple, and I didn't
  23. Tonight I'll be taking pill 7. I am just starting to get some dryness around the corners of lips and edges of nose. I also did a little experiment last night with alcohol, just to see what would happen, because I have a few special occasions that I'd like to be able to have a couple of drinks at during the course, and I wanted to know in advance if I'd feel ill from mixing alcohol with the medication or get horribly hungover or anything, so I split a bottle of red wine with my wife over the
  24. To be honest, I wouldn't recommend that you compare these pictures to my before pictures. I promise my skin didn't get worse! These are much better quality. In the before pics, you can really only see redness, but my skin was oily and a bit inflamed. Now, it's a lot brighter and my breakouts have decreased in size considerably! Today I also bumped up the amount of BP I use daily; I've been using the same amount as the length of the top section of my pointer finger nightly (my skin was a
