  1. Where to start?... I have just come off Accutane in March and now I am back to square 1, I have spots again. I have since tried Vitamin D3 at 3200iu a day for 4 months, Zinc 45mg a day for over a year, Vitamin C 1000mg a day for over a year. I am now trying witch hazel with 600mg dispersible aspirin as a toner am and pm. I got the idea from acne.org, this website has been so helpful to me with such a wealth of information, the best thing is that the information comes direct from pe
  2. Gday, A little background about me. I had pretty bad acne from about 2005-2011 when I was 14-20 and decided to go on accutane which cleared me up fully. I didn't get any bad breakouts except for the occasional one here and there until a few months ago, and my skin now looks almost as bad as when I started accutane. I have bad acne scars and every pimple I get now seems to leave a pitted scar no matter what I do. I've recently started a cocktail of vitamins to try and get rid of my

    Day 20

Day 20 - Entry's gonna be long. Topic 1: minocycline side effects Topic 2: what I picked on my face Topic 3: pimple updates Topic 4: vitamin c horrors Skip around haha ----------- I started off today feeling super tired and very crappy. I was a bit depressed, especially about my skin. It felt hopeless... I didn't know why but then I realized its probably my antibiotics every since I switched from solodyn brand to the generic minocycline, I started feeling super tired... more than I

    Retin A and Accutane

Hey guys, I've been wondering for a while now why Retin A is supposed to be good for scarring, but Accutane supposedly makes scars form easier. If they're both derived from vitamin A, wouldn't it make sense that they do the same thing even though one is topical and the other is oral? For example, vitamin C is supposed to promote collagen either way. Anybody read anything about this or have any idea?
  5. I tried to stop obsessing over my acne last few months, without so much success to be honest. I tried limiting eggs for a while and nightshades but didn't seem to do anything, as usual. I have also been trying to eat less foods that make me fart, hoping there is some kind of ludicrous connection between farting and acne lol. That means less fruit and veg and wheat, if any, which means eating like a weirdo and then the inevitable binges like the big girl I am. Acne was so so for last few week
  6. I have been trying to get rid of the red marks left behind from my acne for almost a year now! What is the best "red spot" corrector you guys have used? I know that vitamin c topical claim to be effective. Has anyone tried the "Red serum"?
  7. I've recently started using retin a 0.05% for my slight adult acne and ageing skin. My skin is taking it really well and I can already see results. I've heard about the benefits of Vitamin C on the skin and was wondering if it can be used in conjunction with retin a. I'm now using the retin-a every other night, so could the vitamin c be used the morning after under my sunblock (spf30)? Or would that be too harsh? For the night between retin-a I'm using a hyaluronic acid serum under ci

    One Month of Needles

I've been hearing a lot about this microneedling over the last year and had considered giving it a try. But it wasn't until I heard a coworker raving about it that I thought I should actually go for it. Basically, you're rolling dozens of tiny needles all over your face, causing controlled injury to the layers of skin and forcing the body to increase collagen production. This improves, apparently, fine lines, scarring, hyperpigmentation, and skin firmness. There are different needle length
  9. Has anyone used vitamin c topically to help treat scars/red marks? I read about it previously and I've been mixing small amounts of vitamin c powder and aloe vera gel and applying it to my face before bed. It usually leaves a stiff coat in the morning, which I exfoliate off and then moisturize with a little coconut oil. I've done it 3 nights now. I always have to exfoliate some dead/dry skin in the morning, which is new - should I take that as a good thing? Has anyone else tried this? I
  10. So about 1.5 weeks ago I bought an ebook called "Annihilate Your Acne: The complete natural guide to consistently clear skin". It's $20 but it's one of the best $20 I've spent. Plus there's a money back guarantee if your acne doesn't clear up. So this book is absolutely amazing. I opened it and couldn't stop reading. It concentrates mostly on oil balances (omega 3 vs. 6) and antioxidants as well as pesticides. It goes through each food group and tells you what is appropriate for acne and
  11. I understand that there is a "window of opportunity" minutes and hours after needling to take advantage of the newly formed micro channels in the skin by applying topicals which can penetrate at a much deeper level and therefore enhance their effects. Similarly though, I'm guessing there are certain products you should probably avoid during this period as well. So, what should you apply to the skin and when? For example, Vitamin C serum is something that is commonly mentioned as a topical to u
  12. Hey guys. I'm new here. Anyways, as most of you-- I basically tried EVERYTHING there is to offer in the market but nothing ever worked for me. Ever since I was 10 (which was when I first started having my periods and now I'm 19 nearly 20), I was already experiencing acne breakouts. My mom would send me to the best dermatologist every Saturday in my city 'til I was 13. Constant extraction from the doc. Constant shit on my face and it would never ever stop! So my dermatologist then suggested Ac

    From the album: Microneedling Journey

So it's been just about a month since I've started with microneedling. I don't feel like I've seen a lot of physical progress, but my skin feels soft as cream.
  14. Just wondering does anybody know why all vitamin c supplements break me out? Pills, powder, the lot. I wanna take them to help with collagen production with scar treatments I'm getting done aswell as gum issues I have. I'd really appreciate any pointers for this one, peace out
  15. I have way less acne than I did a few years ago. I definitely know my skin has improved since then but I still feel the same shitty self conscious disgusting about my face because of hyper pigmentation. I am gettin quite a few spots again probably because I'm so stressed with Uni and then stressed that my skin still isn't clear after all these years. It's annoying you put so much effort into getting spots to go then ur still left with something else to cover. I have just read that it's be

    Please Help

I have a few questions regarding my current acne treatment and any kind of help or insight would be really appreciated. I'm a 25 year old guy with oily skin, have been doing acne treatments on and off for the past 10 years or so. Unfortunately, I have had a very bad luck with dermatologists and I can honestly say that not one treatment has helped me for more than a month tops. I have been using Glycolic Acid 20%, a tone adjustment cream for the past 7 months (because my skin got disastrously
  17. I would like to know if anyone has any studies on which form of topical vitamin c is best. I know that a lot of people on here think that topical vitamin c is BS, but I am not here to talk about this. I know that there are some companies such as 302 that will tell you that any type of acid is bad for your skin (example – ascorbic acid). So which vitamin c is best? Anyone? Thanks.

  21. So after the past two years of the most excessive journey . I FINALLY have near perfect success ! ( for me that is ) it has been ALOT of trial and error and ups and downs. but Finally i am very very happy with my skin. I am not going to list all of the things that diddnt work for me because that would take many many paragraphs but I am going to tell you the things I’m doing now that are working so good I had to write a post about it. I am going to walk through my day from the minute I wake up u

    One month progress

    From the album: Microneedling Journey

So the big red hyperpigmentation on these cheek is definitely already smaller. In the first pictures it had just stopped being active and was really dark and wider. It's definitely close to going away here.

    One month progress

It's been just about a month. I don't see a physical reduction in the pitted scars. But my skin is suuuper smooth and it seems like my overall color tone is improving.

    From the album: Kat Sanchez

A delicious Green Smoothie recipe I drink every morning for good/clear skin. It's one of the easiest ways to get all those skin-friendly minerals and vitamins we need like zinc, selenium and vitamin c, to maintain healthy skin. Hope you give it a try!
