  1. Hi guys, I am quite worried, I'm on day 18 of 40mg/day Accutane and I'm a 22f. I have recently noticed more of my joints cracking really loud, and that is quite normal for me but now it's happening in more places for me like my wrists for example. Also, I am having sciatic nerve pain. Basically what this means is that I have a sharp pain in my lower back which then runs down a nerve in my left thigh, "through" my knee and then all the way down to the sole of my foot. It's a sharp pain, when it
  2. quote- Vitamin B12 is the name given to a group of related compounds containing cobalt as the central ion in a corrin ring. The cobalt ion can be coordinated to a methyl, 5€™-deoxyadenosyl-,hydroxy- or cyano- group. Hydroxycobalamin and cyanocobalamin used in food supplements are transformed in the human body by coordinating with other ligands into methylcobalamin and 5-deoxyadenosylcobalamin. The latter two are actively involved in endogenous metabolism. Thus, 5-deoxyadenosylcobal
  3. Does anyone have a regular uptake of this vitamin? It's been linked to cancer prevention and even reversal. I am wondering what effect it may have on acne. If anyone has any insight please enlighten me.
  4. Does anyone think these could be similar- I'm not sure but I heard accutane was similar to chemo (just a significantly lower) dose. http://www.mcvitamins.com/chemo-brain.htm This website talks about vitamin B12 and how it helps repair the nerve damage from the treatment. What do people think.
  5. For at least 6 months I have had clear skin and I feel guilty not sharing it with others, and even though everyone's body is different, here is what worked for me.... Notes: I had continuous moderate acne since middle school. I am now in my early 20's. Results came very quickly upon starting this (pretty random) system. Once in a blue moon I will get a little on top of the skin pimple, but it's always very small and not a big deal at all. I still have oily skin and flat red marks left be
  6. That's the issue, plain and simple. You may not believe it because it doesn't happen to you, or you might assume that I am religious and talkin smack about your favorite heathen activity behind closed doors, but that is not the case. I have noticed without fail that if I ejaculate, I can EXPECT acne, mostly and most severely on my back within 1-5 days, the more I do it the more it will appear on my face. Usually it is constrained to my back. If I Have sex more than once per week, the acne is lar

  8. ZMA causes acne. This seems to pretty much be an undeniable unanimous agreement within the bodybuilding world. ZMA contains Zinc, Magnesium and vitamin B6. Now that either means one or more of those components aggravates acne..or.. that all of them combined together are bad for acne. I'm pretty sure it is the first one as ZMA is only a mixture not a compound. Now we've heard numerous times that zinc is good for acne and their are pubmed studies concluding this. B6 is kinda ambiguous in that
  9. This is for the dickheads who think I don't have medical evidence to prove B5 works! And thinks my testimonial is not true. What dickheads! Do you know how to read? Medical Study by Dr. Lit-Hung Leung, M.D. Taken off http://acne.informationhighway.info Pantothenic Acid in the Treatment of Acne Vulgaris "A Medical Hypothesis" by Lit-Hung Leung, M.D. This article originally appeared in the scientifically prestigious Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine Vol. 12 Number 2, 1997. 13. Found this on Drugstore.com / GNC.com article they wrote explaining what the B vitamins are and the B complex. Here's an exert and the site w/ the article is on the bottom. Human requirements for members of the B-complex vary considerablyâ€â€from 3 mcg per day for vitamin B12 to 18 mg per day for vitamin B3 in adult males, for example. Therefore, taking equal amounts of each oneâ€â€as provided in many B-complex supplementsâ€â€makes little sense. Furthermore, there is little evidence
  14. my GP phoned today and said my vitamin b12 and folate (folic acid) was a little low on my last regular blood check and she would like for me to have another blood test... I was wondering can you take supplements for b12 and folic acid whilst on accutane?? About 2 weeks I had a blood test to see if i was okay to go on accutane (liver function, cholesterol) and this came out okay. From what i have read, you must not take supplements containing vit A....Also on the day of your blood test to check y
  15. Hi Everyone.. ive been lurking on this site for years, but figured i finally needed to post. My acne started at 12 along with an autoimmune disease vitiligo (white patches of skin) When I was 15, i took accutane, and took 2 more courses after that. The acne would stop after accutane for about a year if that, then resume course, and it would progressively get worse. I just turned 27 in June, and was still getting cystic acne. I tried different methods, but im not sure if i'm missing anything.

  18. Hey everyone..... I'm pleased to say that after 2 years of using this regimen. 2005 - 2007 ( will be 2 yrs in june of 07) I can say that I am 96-99% clear. When I was younger, I had cystic acne, and several annoying smaller breakouts of acne here and there...from aged 15 till now. I was treated with antibiotics, as well as accutane. I was one of the unfortunate sufferers of the side effect "suicidal ideation" with accutane, but as a result, I rarely get cysts now, and my breakouts are controlle
  19. Well I've been thinking about adding vitamins as a part of my regimen for clear skin, so I was just reading up about different vitamins, and I had an epiphany. I found a ton of information about how vitamin B12 can actually make acne and skin problems worse! I became a vegetarian almost 3 years ago, and have been taking a vitamin B12 supplement for quite some time, since B12 is just about the only vitamin that cannot be found in a vegetarian diet (it's in milk and eggs as well as meat, and I'm
  20. I have read that vitamin B12 may be bad for acne-prone skin.... does anybody know? The reason I am asking is because I have started taking One-A-Day Men's Health multivitamins & it has 18 mcg of B12 in it. Any comments would be great.

  22. WARNING: If many of you suffer from conditions such as rosacea, sensitive scalp or just have allergies to most applications, I don't reccomend the use of garlic since it can be a little strong and sting which can cause some skin redness depending on how much you dillute it with water. If the garlic is a little strong, try watering it down or adding less garlic teeth. Okay, not long ago I posted things about having problems with hairloss because of many related factors, one being Accutane. Thi
  23. I was wondering if taking vitamins would help the process of acne and acne scars. Currently I'm taking: Vitamin E 400 I.U. Vitamin B With C (includes Vitamin E (30IU), Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, Biotin, and Pantothenic Acid) Vitamin A 8000 I.U. Vitamin D 400 I.U. Should I keep taking this or should I leave some out? What are your opinions.
  24. I am considering trying the B5 supplement for my acne as a last result for accutane. I have been on accutane before and great results but the doctors are a little more reluctant to giving it because of all the side affects. However I did okay the times before on it. It has been 5 years since I have had a break out like I am now. I am turning 33 next week and I don't even want to go out, because my acne is at a horrible stage at this time. I am willing to try anything at this point. I have
