Bentley.boo posted a blog entry in Adult Treatment Resistant Acne and Started Roaccutane/Accutane/Isotretinoin.So my basic cleanser is quite simply amazing. Clinique Rinse off foaming cleanser. I love it. Although I admit I have tossed it to the side lately and used Clearasil as I was depressed and desperate. The Clinique is so gentle and great at removing make up, it makes you feel super clean and it's the only thing I trust to use while taking the Roaccutane. Cetaphil moisturiser I am using just because of the recommendations for this while on treatment. It normally brings me up loads of closed comedones which are horrific but it seems to be the moisturiser of choice a and I am going to try it. I am using Boots No7 Beautifully Matte foundation in Calico as it is amazing coverage and I have used this for a while. The colour is the closest match I have found. I am not sure if I will stick with this though as it does feel drying which is fine with my usual oilyness, but I will see how that changes. I love the Palmer's Coco butter range I think their products are rich and absorb into the skin really well. I bought an oil for my body and thought I would try their coconut oil lotion too as I hadn't seen that one before and I love coconut. I got an intense moisturiser for my lips if they get really bad and a Cherry Carmex because I love cherry too. The Burts bees is my daily lipbalm and is fantastic. I have dry lips anyway, always have so lip product are no stranger to me! The Vasaline pots are also really good I love the rose one it's a nice colour and so smooth. I have a few of those laying around the house too. . For my eyes I got Blink Intensive Tears as the packet read good for my needs. I hope I am prepared enough! I am really into my products as I am a qualified Beauty Therapist and Hairdresser. It always bugs me that I have bad skin in my line of work, I feel like it means i'm judged more.
Hi. I have been suffering with acne for about two months now... derm said it’s hormonal. I’ve been taking zinc, vit a, D3, and calcium. So far it’s been helping. I’m thinking of supplementing magnesium as well. Decided to try and figure out my trigger and I think it was all internal because the vitamins did help. I was originally getting deep cysts on my jawline but only on my right cheek (so weird) but now I get small bumps all over my right cheek which is better than cysts. However I struggle with picking and irs making everything so complicated because I pick and then it takes forever to heal I’m working on it.... i guess im just looking for support from other people who are suffering from acne because to be honest I feel so alone most of the time. I get these waves of anxiety that results in me standing in front of the mirror for 20 minutes picking and over analyzing my face. Im newly married so it’s even more stressful because I get so self conscious around my husband even though he try’s to support and comfort me.... acne is rough... it’s definitely taking a toll on my mental health. I find myself checking the mirror every 5 min hoping something got better....tonight I picked at my face and now it’s all red and irritated so I iced it and put vasalin.... guess I’ll see if it helps in the morning. some new things I’ve been trying -calamine lotion as a spot treatment -BP as a spot testament -zinc oxide (dipper rash cream) if anyone is interested in any updates on my skin. Feel free to ask. *hope to and it cleared soon!!
So I've been doing a modified version of the Regimen for about a week now. I was using SpecroDerm, BenzoClin and CeraVe. It's different, but I'm applying the theories of the Regimen. After a good few days of being very dried out, the hardening effect is starting to diminish. My skin is skill getting zits but smaller ones, which is good. Though I've noticed more on my neck, where I didn't get them before. I looks like the breakouts are reaching to wherever the treatment wasn't put. Now my face and neck are all getting treatment. I'm struggling with dry lips though. I'm using Vasaline at night. Apparently it's non-comedogenic and safe for use on the lips for the regimen. Because the dry area extended to the skin around my lips, I was applying it smear-like. Not sexy but moisturizing.
In preperation to starting Accutane my dermatologist told me to stop using topical creams to prevent drying and peeling of the skin because while on Accutane your skin can become very sensitive and dry. So basically I've been using Cetaphil Gentle Face Wash and Cetaphil Lotion for Dry, Sensative skin. He also gave me smaples of the CeraVe face cleanser and lotion but I already have the Cetaphil ones and like them. I also have a Clarisonic that I use once a day to remove my makeup. I am currently using Vasaline on my lips because right now where I live it is cold and dry so my lips are chapped! I am also researching some products to use while on Acuutane. But so far I'm just going to stick with the products im using then decide if I have to get better, more moisturizing products, or if what I have will control the dryness. Im also not sure what makeup to use during Accutane and of course wearing makeup wont help but Im too self concious to go without makeup but I want a light full coverage product. Right now I am looking into some Clinique products and Everyday Minerals. I think I'm going to try Everyday Minerals because they send you 7 free samples for a penny and you just need to pay shipping and handling. I think Im also going to get a SUGAR lip balm and a Jack Black one from Sephora and maybe Moisture Surge from Clinique. I also want to try the First Aid Beauty Repair cream and Boscia B.B. cream SPF 27 while on Accutane. Tell me if you have any suggestions!
