Day 21 - Skin Getting Better

Helo! Can't believe I have been following the regimen for 3 weeks already (booyeah)! After all the redness, flaking and itchy skin, I have finally passed that stage already. My skin is no longer red but as compared to my neck, it is still a bit darker. But yea most of the active acne, I can say, are 95% gone from my face There are still acne scars caused by previous acne in some part of my cheeks. But as for the forehead and nose area are pretty much cleared. My current skin routine: -

    Update 5/7/13

Updates! My skin has been doing great and I've been picking less! I think I picked two times within the week.. and it was the same spot haha, didn't do much damage I've really kicked the habit of gluing myself to the mirror and killing my skin. I just got a renewal on my minocycline prescription but my derm said that they ran out of duac samples! D: so I might be getting the BP and the clindamycin separately within the next week..... I cant wait for that! As for pimples, I got one on my rig
  4. Hello everyone, I just wanted to give a little update of my 4 month journey with this regimen. Quick background story: Hormonal acne, mild and I was on the pill Yasmin for more than 10 years, stopped, had a bunch of acne, tried a bunch of "natural" treatments, didn't stick to a routine, got scared, went back on the pill, it was horrible and now I stopped it again, 6 months ago, promising to stick to the Acne.org regimen. For the longer version, check http://www.acne.org/messageboard/topic/35

    Forget about prescriptions

Just went to a doctor and he says it looks like I'm suffering from an allergic reaction due to either retin-a or clindamycin. He reccomended I stop using both medications. Benadryl and prednisone for a few days in order to control the itching on my neck and wrists! I found out in deficient in vitamin D and many have said these supplements greatly helped their acne so here I go! Just purchased vitamin d3 with calcium. Working on changing my diet as well

    6 week update

6 weeks on retin-a and clindamycin regimen.. Not working keep breaking out next to my nose and cheek area. The weather is getting warmer and I have to hide inside the house since sun exposure is not recommended on this medicatio. This better be worth it because boy am I getting depressed from sitting in...

    Acne Regimen (After 6 Days)

So I added Clean and Clear blackhead eraser scrub to my regimen. I had noticed a horrible amount of blackheads on my chin. I usually get them on the sides of my nose and on my chin. I love this scrub! It makes my skin feel super clean and leaves a cool feeling. After two days of using the scrub, the blackheads and pimples on my chin are completely gone! The worst area with pimples *my forehead* has improved. The pimples have decreased in size but they still remain. I am adding peppermint oil as
  8. Hello everyone and anyone reading this. So this is a 5 year update since getting on accutane. I dont breakout at all now. The only time I get pimples is when I eat dairy and when I drink orange juice or eat oranges. I think I finally found out why I used to break out so much in my teens. I used to eat a lot of dairy food and drink acidic stuff like orange juice a lot. Ive read a lot on this and a lot of other people broke out because of dairy and when they stopped eating it they stopped breaking

    Update!

Hi! It's been a long time since I've been on this website, for the most part due to my life becoming very hectic! D: I just wanted to say that I think I am well on my way to being clear by the end of this year! Here's some changes I made in my diet that I think everyone should ponder on. NO, I'M NOT SAYING THIS WILL WORK FOR EVERYONE ;-) I just think these changes have made a major influence on my skin's improvement. I QUIT EATING EGGS! I learned not too long ago that eggs are SUPER infla

    Caveman Regimen Day 6

No changes and no new pimples. Really nice skin tone! Pimples are rapidly clearing up and so are scars! I'm hoping not to jinx it since I haven't had a bad day yet. I'm also hoping I don't get the dreaded dead skin layer! bleh. Anyways one nice thing is I no longer feel oily or dirty. My face feels really nice!! --------------------EDIT okay so it's now nighttime and I have a few new pimples...hope they go away quickly but they are tiny
  11. It's been around ten years since I finished my course of Isotretinoin (Accutane). Here is the blog I made at the time: https://www.acne.org/forums/topic/220074-my-amazing-accutane-log-finished/ Back then I was extremely shy, self conscious, and had zero confidence. Probably quite typical for a teenager but I'd say the acne really held me back from developing myself and gaining the confidence to be who I wanted to be and do what I wanted to do. I obviously don't know how my skin would have b
  12. Hello everybody! I'm back!!! Did you miss me? Lol, i'm just kidding! Long time no talk, and there's a lot to update, so let's just get to it! Okay, first of all is the UPDATE!! My skin has been doing great so far!! Like the regimen has been doing GREAT stuff i should say. Instead of using the regimen's moisturizer, I replaced it with Cetaphile because of the color which makes me look tan. Lol. The regimen "treatment" really does dry out all the living oils in the face which drives me

    Isotretinoin Progress

Hey all, So far, my results on Isotretinoin (Accutane) are great! My skin keeps getting better and better. It definitely has taken the acne on my back the longest to clear up, but this month the acne is clearing up nicely! I really hope the rest of this month and the next two months continue to be this great. Accutane has worked wonders for me. I pray my complexion stays this nice when I am no longer on Isotretinoin. Positives: Pores are smaller, decreased oil production, acne has disappear
  14. Ok! Its been a while since I updated! But I'll sum up whats been going on.. Skin was doing well in September but it started to go way downhill in November and hasn't been doing great in January either.. Im not 100% natural anymore just because I needed some sort of face wash that would really give me a good clean. Im still eating healthy and changed my lifestyle. The only problem I've been having is controlling my picking. It stinks because if I didn't pick my face would probably look a lot bet

    Day 49 Of Roaccutane

Today is my seventh week on roaccutane (isotretinoin). So far, I am not particularly optimistic, due to the fact my acne is 5x worse than when it started. However I will give the pills credit in the sense that my side effects haven't been too bad, and it appears that the acne that appears heals quicker than perhaps before. Only a little quicker, but noticeably so. I've had the whole dry lips, dry nose, dry skin shenanigans, but this is nothing that a bit of Carmex lipbalm and some Diprob
  18. I just wanted to give a quick update as I pass the 18-months post-Accutane mark! My skin is still VERY clear - I probably get about one very small pimple every month or 2, and it goes away COMPLETELY within 2 days. Again, it's very small - usually doesn't even develop to the stage of being a whitehead, and it's gone before I even really notice it. Here is a before and after pic: ALSO, I wanted to address some of the side effects that other users had/have been experiencing. I basica

    Update

Hey everyone! So I've been on retin a and clindamycin for about ten days now and I'm starting to get that ever so dreaded initial breakout the breakout is consisting of a very itchy patchy area of tiny pimples. Not any big ones so that's good I guess? I hope this goes away soon ugh! Oh side note , yesterday I started oral antibiotics for a "girl" infection if you know what I mean... Lol so I'll be on that medication for about three days and I'm kinda hoping it helps my acne too ..
  20. I took Accutane 4 years ago. After two years, my acne returned in full force. I was getting cystic acne just like before. I fell back into the cycle of taking antibiotics (minocycline, doxycycline, etc) but I knew that wasn't a permanent solution. I was even considering a second round of Accutane. After seeing how clear my skin could be with the first round of Accutane, I just wanted to have clear skin again! It had been such a blessing not having to think about the blemishes on my face. When yo
  21. Hello all! This is my first forum post so I'm going to start with a little bit about my acne. If you want to get right to the caveman regimen just skip ahead! I am a 23 year old female, I have suffered with acne since my teens and have tried everything short of Accutane to clear my skin. Antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, Dan's Regimen, Retinol, over the counter treatments, apple cider vinegar, manuka honey, you name it. I spend a lot of time googling acne and treatments and I have never reach

    After 17 Days!

So I added some C. Booth tea tree oil toner to my regimen due to my job cutting in my time. I do not have time to mix and dilute my tea tree and peppermint oil. So I bought new and fresh tea tree oil and added extra in the C.Booth toner. The blemishes are gone on my chin and cheeks. I have no more blackheads! I had a horrible whitehead on the underside of my nose. It finally cleared up after a few days. The whiteheads on my forehead have decreased but I cannot seem to get rid of them! If anyone

    Update: One Year, 4 Months

Hello! I just recently remembered that i had started this blog. Of course, life got in the way, and i didn't update periodically as i planned. I wanted to post a final update after over a year of being on the regimen. This regimen completely, 100%, worked for me. I am so so happy that i did this. My face is completely clear. Occasionally, i will get a single pimple due to everyday life. My everyday routine: Morning Wash face- Purpose gentle skin cleanser Moisturize- Spread thin layer of

    Acne Week #1

Hello lovelies, So I've suffered with acne for about four years now and after countless treatments, this is how my face stands: I have spots/acne on my chin, lower cheeks and jawline, with the odd few on my forehead I have considerably bad acne scars on my chin and cheeks I have slightly enlarged pores on my nose and cheeks I have blackheads on my nose, although not too severe I've recently found myself feeling really down because of my skin, and treatments that I'd been using had stopped
