  1. Have just been told that UK has almost no Skinoren in any pharmacies as manufacturer isn't sending it out and it could be months before we get any. I'm planning to buy some on the net in the meantime in case it is a while before I can get some on prescription again and my GP is hoping that he can prescribe me the next best thing. Will this be Finacea gel, do you think? I know they both have Azelaic acid in them but I thought that Finacea is mainly used for Rosacea, not acne?
  2. its been there for at least 5 years.. its skin coloured and it doesnt really hurt or anything, nothing really comes out of it and its just skin... i also have some on my nose..can someone help me? how do i treat this?
  3. I've decided to take the plunge and consult for my acne scars. This is how they look like I have some on my temples, my forehead and my cheeks. I will be consulting two doctors next week: a dermatologist and a plastic surgeon. I am considering subcision, and the laser, and also perhaps microdroplet silicone injections. What questions should I ask during the consultation? I want to be well prepared and be able to cover all the bases when I go.
  4. So I've been on monodox for 4 months now and it's just not working. It's gotten a little bit better but I still always have at least 3 cysts on my face (it used to be like 6) My derm has been telling me that he has to start easing me off of it and it should've been working by now so he switched me down to a lower dosage even though the cysts hadn't stopped and now I have like 8. They definitely get worse around the time of my period but I still have them at other times of the month. I was readin

    DAY 16

Still dry, very hot in Dublin at the moment and the heat is making me even more tired. Trying to keep my face out of the sun at all times.
  6. Just wondering whether this is generally seen as a "strong" treatment for acne or a moderate one. All responses welcome

    DAY 19

Nothing new to note. I'm almost 3 weeks in and I haven't had any dryness of the face that's worth noting yet, starting to wonder could I just get really lucky.. But I don't want to jinx it! My lips haven't dried one bit! My lip balm is really good though
  8. Hello everyone! 19 year old needing help! So i was looking for some advice on Laser treatments, because opinions seem to be quite divided. Firstly i should say that i don't have acne, but i have a range of scars and large pores all over my face. I've read a lot of horror stories that they can actually make scaring worse and it's really frightening. I've already had one laser treatment, but my treatment sounds quite different than other peoples. The procedure was roughly 30 mins, it felt w

    Pulse Dye Laser-Vbeam

Hi, Has anyone on here had Pulse dye laser treatments? This page looks very promising, saying many people don't ever have to come back after they've done a run of treatments. And it works for cystic acne as well. It shrinks the sebaceous glands in the skin so that less acne can develop. http://www.bigappleskin.com/laser-for-acne.html Anyone? I just had it done a couple days ago, but of course its too early to tell.....
  10. Hi! I'm new to this website so I thought I'd start by giving some background about my skin. I'm 19 years old and I've had acne since I was 11 years old. I didn't care so much about it until I was in highschool, but by then it had dyed down quite a bit. This past few months my acne has flared up like crazy! I have tiny little red pimples all over my face and the odd cyst. Oh, and I also have tons and tons of red post acne marks that drive me crazy! I've tried everything, and I mean everything!
  11. The rest of my face is pretty clear except for my left cheek which has dark scar spots from the acne. (Btw does anyone know if this is a specific type of scarring? Hyperpigmentation??) Any natural methods for tackling this..? (I heard olive oil at night is good... Also apple cider vinegar? Raw Aloe Vera leaf?) For my bacne I've started using Nautrogena Body clear body wash... What can I use with it? Is iodized sea salt water okay to use? I don't have non-iodized.. :c also benzoyl peroxide on

    Severe Acne Conquered

Hello everyone! I've been on acne.org for quite some time as a non-user and I have to say I love the honesty of this community. I don't know what I would have done without it. Acne has been a severely lonely endurance.. In real life I do not know anyone else that has suffered like I suffered. So here is a little bit of a backstory (photos included), my skin was everything to me. I loved doing makeup artistry so I felt like my skin really complimented that. Just like some people like their eyes,

    DAY 28- 4 Weeks In!

Can't believe it's been 4 weeks already! Just two days under a month and i'm really happy with my skin the past few days. This cheek in particular has cleared up loads and is a lot less red than when I compare it to pictures I took a month ago! This cheek is always the worst with my acne but I can also see an improvement here when I compare it to a month ago.
  14. Ok. So I'm a 22 year old female who has always struggled with acne and decided to go to a dermatologist. I always used over the counter products but they never worked. I have acne on my face, neck, back, chest and buttocks. A lot I know. He prescribed Epiduo once a day (by night on my affected areas), Minocycline once a day with food (which I take by night too), Oxy wash two times a day and to keep using my old Moisturizer L'oreal Ideal Moisture Sensitive Skin with SPF by day. So the first
  15. Hi all, so about a week week or so ago I was on clarithromycin for tonsillitis. After 4-5 days on this I experienced a pretty strong allergic reaction. My skin on face and body was really dry and red, and hot. It was a little itchy. Now it’s a week post. the skin on my face is very dry, tight and flakey. I moisturise multiple times a day and all over my body it’s still very dry. My face gets so oily during the day normally that I have to blot it constantly but now no oiliness. Even the ski
  16. I used to think that acne is caused mainly by factors such as the food you eat or how stressed you are and not as a result of using a wrong lotion or facial soap. About six months ago I was proven wrong. I used to read a lot about intrinsic factors that cause acne on acne.org forums and talked to experts who believe in the food-skin connection, trying all sorts of things that might help, some did actually help, but didnt solve the problem. About six months ago I started using two Kiehls pro
  17. Help! I misused apple cider vinegar while treating an acne spot, and now I have what might possibly be a burn on my skin from it. The skin around the (now dried out) pimple is very dark, red, and somewhat raised and rough to touch. I now realize I didn't dilute the vinegar enough and left it on my skin for too long. What is the best recommended treatment for this? How do I heal the skin and reduce the redness from the burn quickly?

My Pcos Is Gone For Now!

Hi ladies, Yes, I was told today that I no longer fit the PCOS patient profile!!! I'm not sure how long this will last, but for now I'm pleased with my progress ;D I don't think one can "outgrow" or fully treat PCOS, but I certainly think it can be kept under control and cysts can lessen with the right holistic approach (as in, considering the WHOLE body and tailoring a treatment accordingly). Some of you have been following my journey for a while now. Acne helped me figure out a lot of th
  19. Hi Everyone, I am just looking for some help. I attached a picture and am looking for some advice. I've had acne for the last 10 years. I had 6 sessions of photodynamic therapy and I also receive monthly salycilic acid peels. I also started doing the Acne.org regime with all of their products. I'm sick of having to put pounds of make up on everyday and feeling so uncomfortable with my face. I will try anything!!
  20. Hi everyone thank you for taking your time to read this. In this article I will keep saying me because it worked for me. We are all different. But this might help you! so let's start! Little background first: I am 23 years old. My skin had lots of acne from the age of 20 till the age of 22. I lived in Florida. This is what helped me to get rid of my acne. There are 3 factors that played a roll in my acne. 1. Food 2. Products 3. Stress Food is a big part! what you eat, is who
  21. Hi, I'm new to this site - just wanting some advice/help regarding acne scars on my face. I've suffered from severe acne for about 10 years - it is now nowhere near as bad as it used to be with just the odd breakout now and again. However I'm left with deep scarring all over my face and it is seriously affecting my self esteem/confidence. I have recently been researching different treatments to see what the best option would be for my type of scars. I've emailed several skin specialis
  22. Hey guys, I just joined this forum so firstly, hello! Up until a few months ago I've suffered with red raw acne on my cheeks and jawline. I'm no longer a teenager (by a long shot!) so did some research and yes, I'm pretty sure I was a sufferer of adult acne. Luckily I have a wonderful friend in the states who recommended Paula's Choice to me, as she's been using their products for a long while to treat blackheads and the occasional breakout. At first I was a bit cynical about it all

  24. I'm 20 now and have been taking antibiotics since I was 13... Honestly feel like I've tried everything so any help appreciated. Been on Lymecycline, Erythromycin, Roaccutane for 8 months (this 100% worked but my skin got INSANELY bad before it got better and don't really want to go on that again, even if I am tempted). I've used pretty much every topical cream prescription under the sun, and have tried Kefir regime for 2 months but this didn't seem to do anything. I am currently o
