  1. I dont know what to do anymore. I have done accutane twice. I have done 2 light treatments (blue U and lumicleanse) I have been on every other type of pill - minocyclin, doxycyclin, 2 different kinds of birth control pills (Yaz and now on Alesse), androcure.... I have seen a naturopath who told me that I should avoid dairy. I did that for 6 months without any improvement whatsoever. Nothing EVER works for me. The only time I have been acne free was for a span of 4
  2. Hi So, I had clear skin since I was about 22 until three months ago (so about 5 years). For whatever reason, 3 months ago, my skin went haywire and I've had HORRIBLE acne on my jaw and the hollows of my cheeks ever since. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that: a) I went vegan around that time, eliminating the synthetic hormones in most meat and dairy products, which may have thrown my androgen balance off. b) went through brand training with Sephora which was 2 weeks of pu
  3. Hey everyone!! WARNING: this is going to be a little lengthy. But I'll love you forever if you can help me. It's been quite a while since my last post. Feels kinda good to be back...even though it means I'm having skin issues :/ So let's just jump right into it...I need your help! I have been sitting on a prescription of Clindamycin Phosphate Lotion for a couple of weeks now, absolutely TERRIFIED that my skin will purge again. If you've read any of my other posts, I had horri
  4. Helloooooo world. This is my pre-Accutane story. This post will be the first for a while, until I start my Accutane journey. I do realise that people probably aren't reading this, but I believe this is good for my thought process and mental health, as well as being someone to talk to. My acne really started when I was 14, which slowly flared up for a few months before I saw my GP who prescribed me Duac - a drying topical treatment. This supper dried out my skin, made it very red and made my fac
  5. I have mild-moderate late-onset adult hormonal acne (mouthful, I know...) I have been reading about grapeseed oil, and how it's supposed to be good for hormonal acne. has anyone tried this? If so, how did you use it? did it work? How long before you saw results? I am trying so hard to keep my hormonal acne at bay, without taking anymore pills (already on BCPs...don't want to take oral antibiotics). So...yeah. Grapeseed Oil... How 'bout it?
  6. Hia, I'm coming to the end of my roaccutane course (1 1/2 months) Yay! I've had absolutely amazing results but the side effects have been very difficult to handle I found a Youtube video before I started talking about a cream you can use afterwards which is normally prescribed automatically in the US but in the UK you apparently have to ask for it. I now can't find the video and can't remember what the treatment is called. Does anyone know what this could be or have any other tips f
  7. I've been reading hundreds of entries on here, and was able to make some significant changes to my skincare routine as a result. But I still feel like I can make some improvements, especially regarding the appearance of my hyper pigmentation, and perhaps any active acne that is still present. Just some background: My skin is very oily, sensitive and now I seem to suffer from hormonal acne as I have mild PCOS symptoms (multiple cysts, non-existent period, acne). I took the pill (Juliet 35) a year
  8. So yeah as the title says, I want to grow my facial hair a bit. I have mild acne, I'm 20 years old and have pretty thin facial hair which does a reasonable job of hiding some of my redness around my chin which is the only place I actually get breakouts. I'm not talking about a full on beard (I can't grow it that much anyway ), just a little grown out and untamed When I do shave, its with an electric razor and has always been I have a few questions - Will it effect the absorption of
