  1. Hi all, A little background of myself: I am 30 years old and I have been suffering from Severe to mild acne since i was 15 years old. My first time ever going to a dermatologist for medicine was about 2 years ago and he prescribed me epiduo with doxycycline and it took a year for my acne to clear up, but I never got rid of blemishes and some scars around my face. After I cleared up, I stopped using the medicine and I broke out again after 2 months and now I went to a different doctor and he in
  2. Hi all, I'm looking for a good, alcohol-free toner that will help balance the ph of my skin. Cruelty-free would be a bonus! Thanks
  3. I have combination skin, (oily in t-zone and dry on cheeks) I exfoliate twice a day, is that to much? my skin is so oily and even after applying an oil-free moisturiser after exfoliating ( I heard oily skin is due to over-excessively dry skin ) hence the moisturiser. I'm going to cut back to exfoliating once a day in the evening but what do I use in the morning?!?! I dont know wether I should buy a cleanser but I have no idea if that helps and what even is it? I would really appreciate some advi
  4. Hi, so I'm currently in the process of decluttering some of my makeup and skin care products that I don't use anymore and I stumbled upon some Proactiv toner I have that has no expiration date on it. I threw away all of my leftover Proactiv benzoyl peroxide from a few years ago as it was expired and therefore wouldn't be as effective but yeah... I have no clue what the expiration date on the toner is. Any of you guys know how long it can keep for approximately?
  5. I'm 15 with acne thats I would describe as mild and close enough to moderate. I have it pretty much under control with: Day: Cleanse with acne.org cleanser Moisturise with acne.org moisturiser Night: Cleanse with acne.org cleanser use Duac once daily gel Moisturise with acne.org moisturiser I was using isotrexin, when my prescription ran out I stopped using it and I had a pretty bad breakout after a week. My doctor then prescribed me with duac once daily (5% BP, 1% clindamycin
  6. Hello! I've been on the regimen for a year and a half or more now. I'm pretty clear as far as breakouts are concerned but I still have blackheads and clogged pores. I was thinking of adding in a toner since my skin is pretty oily anyway. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on this idea!
  7. Hey guys, I just joined this forum so firstly, hello! Up until a few months ago I've suffered with red raw acne on my cheeks and jawline. I'm no longer a teenager (by a long shot!) so did some research and yes, I'm pretty sure I was a sufferer of adult acne. Luckily I have a wonderful friend in the states who recommended Paula's Choice to me, as she's been using their products for a long while to treat blackheads and the occasional breakout. At first I was a bit cynical about it all
  8. Hi! I am 14 yrs old. One of my friends had recommended this 5-10 step Korean skin routine. Has anyone tried it? I want to see how it works on my skin. I have oily acne sensitive skin. Thanks for the replies.
  9. When I first started treating my acne I used 10% benzoyl peroxide. It made my skin pretty dry, irritated, and shiny. When my acne became more severe, I started Retin-A. I used sunscreen in the morning because I live in Puerto Rico and Retin-A makes you much more sensitive to the sun. The Retin-A dried and irritated my skin and this with the large amount of sunscreen in the morning made it horribly greasy. After this, I went full caveman and didn't do anything to my face for a while. I'm sur
  10. Hey guys, Just wondering whether I am alone on this as I seem to always break out when using any type of aspirin based treatment. Whether it be a good old fashioned aspirin mask or putting aspirin in my toner. The next day I seem to have little pustules pop up. For example, i put 2 aspirin in my ACV + Water (75/25) toner last night and used it. This morning I have had around 3 pustules and a few clogged pores pop up overnight. I have been somewhat in remission of my acne which is flari
  11. Hey guys, I've been on the Regimen for about 3 months now, and it has helped somewhat, but has left some pretty mild acne scars. I've heard wonderful things about the Apple Cider vinegar toner and was planning on trying it out. My question is: how should I add it to my daily Regimen routine? I use the Regimen morning and night (cleanser, BP, moisturizer). I was thinking about doing it after I used the cleanser, and then add the BP after the toner, then finally moisturize. I've heard it t
  12. Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone could recommend some acne toners with 2% bha(salicylic acid). I've tried Paula's choice extra strength but it was so moisturizing it just turned my clogged pores into inflamed pimples...tried it for about 2 months and truly didn't prevent breakouts at all, and made the ones I had even worse. I am currently using Neostrata level 2 toning solution and it works great, the only down fall is the alcohol in it! I'd love to be able to find one without alcohol. I was l
  13. Hi guys I am interested in hearing about everyone else's skin care routines! I thought we could all write our routines here and give eachother tips & tricks etc. I've made a video about mine which you can watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL5kANUd75E Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of post-acne hyper pigmentation? That's one thing I need help with Thanks!
  14. So... What are your thoughts on using HP for a face toner? And I say toner because I don't know of a better way to describe the method of applying something to the skin and not washing it off.... My main question is: is this going to over-dry my skin? And/or is this a dumb idea? All comments and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.
  15. As of tomorrow I will have completed one month of my Accutane course. So far it's really hard to say if I've seen much improvement. About the third week in, I got an initial breakout on my cheeks/jawline, chin, and around my mouth. I've never had an issue with blackheads before but in the past couple weeks the pores in my t-zone have been filled with them. i'm assuming it's just the medicine clearing out all the gunk in my pores. I can say that the initial breakout has definitely calmed dow
  16. I have done research and read about all the benefits hyaluronic acid has for the skin and I was very excited to try my new hylaluonic acid serum. Its suppose to give your skin more moisture (if used the right way) and have no side effects or "rarely" give you an allergic reaction. I purchased The Piping Rock brand since it seemed to have high ratings. the Ingredients: Demineralized Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Citric Acid, Polysorbate 20, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate.
  17. Hi everyone, This is my first time writing on this website and I just wanted to get some feed back from the users. I'll start off by saying that I have struggled with acne for almost 10 years. I have used almost every over the counter medication, been to numerous dermatologists, spent weeks hiding in my room after acne peels, and as a last ditch effort to cure my acne started a cycle of Accutane. My acne is now at bay but I still get occasional breakouts around 'that time of the month' and al

  19. Hello, I've been experiencing mild to moderate acne primarily in the form of blackheads on the nose for a large part of my teenage life. Usually a washcloth with cetaphil cleanser once a night does the trick (still works) but I want to know what the cause of the black heads returning is and if adding an astringent like "clean and clear blackhead clearing astringent" would help. My Info. I am a 21 y.o male, active and eat right most of the time. I understand currently my body is producin
  20. I have noticed throughout the past years I have been treating my skin for acne that not every regimen is the same. Some come with a toner (and no treatment), a treatment (and no toner), or they come with both. I have always enjoyed using the brands that come in sets of 3, even though they never worked (i.e. Murad, Proactiv, Epionce), because I felt like putting 4 different things on my skin x2 a day was a little drastic. Not to mention my skin hates everything. It is bitter! and picky! Toner is
  21. Hi guys! I’m sharing the products I used on Accutane and what I found really helped my skin out! Cleanser- I swear by CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for normal to dry skin. I was gentle but did it’s job, which is really what you need on Accutane. I purchased a rotating cleanser brush to use a few days a week to really deep clean my skin Toner- Neutrogena’s Alcohol Free Toner was the best way to deeper cleanse my skin on a daily basis, especially on days where I was wearing heavy fo
  22. Does anyone have experience with The Body Shop face products? Ive heard great things about the tea tree mask and the tea tree gel to spot treat but was not sure if anyone has had experience with their other facial products ? (ie the tea tree perfecting serum, tea tree daily facial cleanser, the vit e hydrating toner, the vit e overnight moisture cream, the vit c daily moisturizer, the stay matte tea tree daily moisturizer) Any help would be appreciated!!
  23. Can anyone recommend a good toner? I have combination skin that tends to clog easily. I have hormonal acne as well and very irritated skin. I'd like the toner to: 1. have glycolic acid in it. 2. Not clog my pores 3. Not irritate my skin (I've used the proactive toner and it didn't break me out or irritate me. Is there something similar, but better for your skin?)
  24. My skin I can't remeber the last time I looked at myself and wasn't ashamed of my acne. It really doesn't help that all of my friends have sparkling clear skin and they don't even wash their makeup off! I have black heads covering my nose, chin, and some in the skin between my under eyes and nose. Near my time of the month I develop cystic acne on my cheeks and my forehead near my hairline. I'm also a compulsive picker. I can't understand why but I have the urge to pick everything off my face,
