    Helloo

So, I'm a 15 old girl and I've had acne for quite a while now but recently it's started to really depress me and I think it has gotten quite a lot worse. It started when I was about 11, but I only would get a few spots- barely anything and it didn't bother me. I don't know where it got to the point where it stopped being a few spots and started being acne. I wish I'd paid more attention and tackled it early on but oh well. I used to get acne on my forehead but that's cleared up now which is g
  2. I've had moderate to severe acne on my face since I was about 12/13, I'm now 17. My dad had very severe spots while my mum had dry skin, and I appear to have moderately bad versions of both. I'm from the UK. My acne had cleared up fairly well using tetralysal and duac once daily cream once a day (a few spots left on the upper neck), but then I went to a music festival, didn't take any medication, use any creams or even wash my face for 4 days and it got much worse. I've been back on tetra
  3. Just an early warning, please excuse any misspelling or minor grammatical errors. English isn't my native tounge and this post is written in a emotional tired induced frenzy. Hey everyone, I've been keeping a watch on this forum from time to time checking threads for possible solutions to acne outbreaks and just to find some comfort in knowing that I'm not alone one out there who knows the struggle. I'm at the age of 21, male and have been in warfare with acne since the age of 14. Since
  4. Hi All, I’ve been trying to beat my acne for almost 5 years now and it’s been a nightmare! I don’t have severe acne. I normally get a few cysts on my cheeks that pop when I sleep or wash my face. Unfortunately my skin is very, very sensitive so I always end up with huge, red, horrible scars and scabs that bleed and I’m unable to cover them up with make up. Things I’ve tried so far…. Tetralysal – it worked wonders for over a year. I got my confidence back, was able to find a bette
  5. Hi! Anyone here using the combination of epiduo and tetralysal? (300 mg x 2 a day) my acne is hormonal, since quitting the bc I've gotten mild to moderate acne. my main problem is clogged pores! They are everywhere! And I squeeze them out everytime because I can't stand them on my face. I also have regular pimples and sometimes cysts. so far I've been on tetralysal for two weeks, I started epiduo a little over a week ago. i haven't seen any improvements yet. My face is worse if anything.

    My First Visit To Derm

My acne was back in late July and I have never been clear since then. I still have no idea why i got them. Most of them are on my chin and cheeks. In the past five months, I have tried many things to get rid of my acne. I tried dairy free, natural remedies, oil pulling and Chinese medicine. I only noticed that my chin got better but my cheeks got much much worse. Today, I just couldn't take it any more and I visited the derm this morning. He said my new breakouts were pretty bad. )'; He p

    Day 0- Feeling Frustrated!

Hi guys and girls! I'm 28 and have been suffering with acne on and off for over 10 years. I've attached some pics of my current outbreak. I've pretty much been on every medication available except Roaccutane. The only medication i've used in the past which has completely cleared my skin long term is Dianette. However my doctor will not prescribe me this anymore as I occasionally have migranes with aura and apparently this heightens my chance of a stroke. VERY FRUSTRATING My curren

    Doctors Bound

Today I went to the doctors about my skin. I ment my grandfather in the waiting room, who commented that my face was a mess. Immediately I wanted to run home and hide (any bravado I'd managed to work up going there without make up was instantly shot down). Anyways. The doctor took a look, and said that the acne wasn't going to go away on it's own without medicine. She prescirbed me an oral antibiotic and a gel for nighttime. I'm returning next week for a blood test. This might seem completel
  9. Hello, I've never posted on an acne forum but I really need some advice. Back in 2009 I started taking tetralysal for my acne and in a few months it cleared up. I stopped taking it after about 8 months because I felt I no longer needed it and my doctor said I could just stop taking it. Plus it was upsetting my stomach and I was worried what the antibiotic was doing to it. I still used the cream they gave me though. I had a great 6 or so months with no acne and then it returned. I started ta
  10. Introduction Quite new to all of this, so I'll start of by introducing myself - I'm Daniel and 18 years old. Evidently by embarking on this blog, I'm sure you've guessed I've had an uphill battle with acne, roughly since the onset of puberty. A bit about my background is that I'm of African heritage, Nigerian to be specific and born and bred in England, I've researched a bit into the epidemiology of acne relating to ethnicity, and I'm aware there are certain things my skin type is more prone to
  11. So I went to the dermatologist for the first time today, after being prescribed things like duac, clindamycin phosphate and stuff and not seeing results. I got prescribed tetralysal and differin today, however I have had this before and (I now regret) I didn't take the tablets religiously. I'm 14, and I have this acne because of my age. I get it on my chest and back also. So has anyone seen any results with this combination? How long does it take to properly see a difference?

    Can You Help Me?

Hello, Im 16 years old male. I have had acne since i was about 12/13. However my acne wasn't severe or anything like that it was one pimple here on there and it carried on like that untill about 6 months ago. I got a massive breakout i went straight away to my GP and he adivised me to go on Tetralysal 300mg and use duac only daily cream, i have been using this for two months now i feel that the spots had stopped but there is so many red marks that is horrible to look at is there anything tha
  13. So next day, and my skin is definitely having a breakout, just lots of white heads forming. Super frustrating as I have some events coming up over the next few weeks which I would have loved being clear (not including the damn PIH which doesn't fade even slightly on my skin) for. Still let's soldier on and try and stay positive! After all, it's future me that I'm looking out for here... Hopefully this is the last breakout and Differin (and my persistence) works some kind of magic out. Al

    One Month!

It's been a month! And in the past three days my skin has been a total rollar coaster. It felt like all of the spots on my face decided to pick up and move to my chin. I had twelve inflamed, under the skin nasty spots all on the right side of my chin. There were so many and they were so painful. But after an intensive course of steaming and hot compresses they all came to a head, were popped, and a liberal coating of honey was applied for most of the day. As of now my entire face is cle

    Regimen Uk

Hii, Can you purchase the regimen from the UK? I have very oily and mild acne *see images* skin, I have tried several products from the doctors and also over the counter. I am currently on Isotrex and Tetralysal from the derm, I currently use Simple branded soap and Simple moisturiser in the morning and Isotrex in the night. Getting depressed is on and off at times x
  16. I have been hovering in these boards but decided to take the plunge and join. Brief acne history- had acne since 15, now 31. Went on Dianette at 18 which worked for a few years then in mid 20s got really bad acne all over my chin and jawline. Went on Oxytetracycyline with Dianette which worked wonders very quickly. Took this for 4/5 years. Everytime I tried to stop, jaw would break out in cysts. Then when I hit 30 in 2013 I started to suddenly get cysts all over and around my nose. Never had thi
  17. Heyyy all my acne friends!! I'm new to this page and wish I could get some help! 1,5 years ago I were prescripted antibiotics (tetralysal) for mine at that time moderate acne! I think that was the worst decision of my life, it made my face break out like never before and didn't even improve as I continued with the pills... today I still have acne not as bad as when on the tetralysal but still pretty bad for me and enough bad to destroy sooo much in my life! Depression etc from this... I have bee
  18. I'm coming up to my fifth week on Tetralysal and have noticed little to no improvement so far ): I wondered if anyone else had any experience with this antibiotic - did it work, and if so how long did it take to see results?
  19. Hey, My GP put me on tetralysal 300mg and I have been taking that for 4 weeks. My acne is improving a bit, but I know antibiotics are a disaster and my skin will inevitably get much worse the minute I go off them. I'm also suffering from a shockingly bad cold, which may or may not be caused by the A-Bs. I'd much rather have a topical treatment that works, even if I have to use it for years, and I want to start it ASAP so I have some chance of having nice skin this summer. Basically, I ha
  20. Disclaimer: This is probaly just a boring long post but I just wanted to share my story. Sorry for any English mistakes. Also, if this post is in the wrong forum/place then I am sorry, please move it to the correct one if possible. Hello, I rarely post here but I've been lurking for a while when searching for questions about my acne, I just want to share my own story of how my acne went from okay to the worst point of my life (today). I'm a currently a 16 year old boy and I know that is st
  21. So I think I totally jinxed myself in the last post by saying how great my skin was doing! I'm not sure if I'm just experiencing the IB I was told to expect, but I have developed a new giant beast of a cyst on my cheek right next to the one I already had prior to starting treatment. And also a small yet annoying red zit on my forehead - I never get acne on my forehead so I can only guess that the Epiduo gel has brought it out, so I'm not using the Epiduo on my forehead now, only on the zit.
  22. Hey guys, I've been on tetralysal 300mg for 8 weeks now, and haven't noticed any improvement. I have also been using a combination of Akne-mycin in the evening (0.25% tretinoin, 4% eromycin) and 5% benzoyl peroxide in the morning for 3 weeks. My skin is flaking a bit so I am using the cetaphil high tolerance moisturiser, which my GP recommended. The thing is, it contains almond oil and feels extremely thick and very, very oily. I honestly don't know if it's breaking me out, because I seem to
