  2. Hey, I’m 14 years old supposedly struggling with hormonal acne. I’ve got spots and blackheads on my forehead, acne scars on my cheeks, whiteheads and blackheads on my nose and clogged pores pretty much everywhere. I’ve considered using AHA and BHA peels by The Ordinary as I’ve heard chemical peels really benefit your skin. I was wondering if they really work or if they make things worse. Has anyone tried chemical peels or are there alternatives?
  3. I'll try to make this short. I know most of you have busy lives and I'd prefer not to waste your time. This is what has helped me with my cystic acne more than anything else: 1. At night in the shower, wet face with water, pour tea tree oil into my hand, rub it on my face for 30 seconds. It should sting a little bit. Rinse it off, use regular cleanser (I use Simple moisturizing facial wash), rinse, let skin dry completely. 2. Apply Differin gel 0.1%. 3. Go to bed. 4. Wake up, use a moi
  4. I'm thinking of switching from Tea Tree Oil to Benzoyl Peroxide just because how slow Tea Tree Oil is working for me. It's too slow for me. Will there be any problem if I switch? Also, how many times a day do I apply Benzoyl? I currently apply Tea Tree Oil twice a day.
  5. Hi, I've been doing the oil cleanse method for 3 weeks now and I've noticed the acne on my forehead is getting worse and worse. I don't know if my skin is purging or if it is breaking out so I'm not sure whether to try something else or stick with it? But this is definitely the worst my acne has been. The acne on my cheeks does seem to be a little better though but my forehead is like 5X worse. I'm thinking of trying African Black Soap. Any advice? Should I carry on? Is this purging or are my po
  6. Hello Everyone! If anyone has been reading my blog thus far, you will know I have been on the regime (drugstore version) for about a month. I can honestly say that benzoyl peroxide is a very effective acne/blemish treatment - at a cost. The dryness, roughness and overall uneven skin texture is a trade off for fewer pimples and potentially clear skin. I found that my skin was so rough and uneven that it just didn't look great, even though I had fewer pimples and blemishes. Doing some research
  7. I've about had it with my acne, i have moderate to severe acne. I get the whole galore, cysts, white heads, clogged pores the whole shebang. My problem is that i freak out and try all these products that aggravate my face even more and its a mess and i end up losing and my face being even worse than before. I feel ugly because my skin never wants to stay clear. I dont want to go on anymore prescriptions and use any drugstore products that just dry my skin out more. I have oily skin and its a lit
  8. Does anyone use the Oil Cleansing Method w/ Dan's BP? If so how? Do you still use a cleanser? Which oils do you use? Has anyone tried tea tree oil for acne? Results?

    My (Semi) Holistic Regimen

Ok, so some background: I've had acne since I was in about 8-9 grade (I am now in 11). I now have moderate-severe acne. Tried SA (didn't work and sometimes dried my skin), BP (worked a little, but not worth the dryness, Epiduo (worked a little, not worth dryness), Baking Soda (didn't work, dried me out) I just quit the Epiduo a few weeks ago after two months of trying. It was painful, dried me out, and wasn't worth the minimal results I saw. Coincidentally, around the time I quit Epiduo I
  10. Hello everybody. I am a 20 year old female who has been scourering the Internet for years searching for answers to my acne problem. After all these years, I am finally ready to make my first post. I am going to tell you my story and share with you how I have finally gotten my skin to be clear and smooth (for the most part!) It all started when I was in eighth grade. I had the most beautiful skin you have ever seen. I'm serious. But I suffered from OCD and I craved regiments and routines in my
  11. Hello! For the last 3 years or so I have searched online for answers about why my skin was so red. Could it be from my acne? Could I have rosacea before I was even 30? Would it ever go away? Who else had this kind of redness that I did? I am here to post my progress, and maybe be of some kind of reference or guidance to someone else who is searching for answers, sees my skin, and can relate. I had always had some kind of acne since I was about 11. I never did NOT have some kind of blemish on my
  12. For the past few months my skin has been breaking out horribly. I have mild to moderate acne, and I have found routine that has kept me clear for almost a month now!! Sea Breeze as my toner A mixture of tea tree oil and extra virgin olive oil. Acanya gel And then moisturize with Cetaphil moisturizer. I'm so happy

    How I Got Clear

Hey everyone! just thought I'd share my story with acne and how I got clear. I am in NO WAY endorsing these products for profit whatsoever. I just thought I would share what worked for me. As most of the people here, I got hit with acne around 12 or 13, Very mild, rarely came up as a topic with anybody. Then when I turned 17 (my grad year), it exploded all over my face. I was horrified. So was my family, my mom even refused to get pictures done of me because I was a "pizza face". SO that w
  14. Hi im 16 and recently I've been getting really bad acne. It's mostly redness and hyperpigmentation with the occasional whiteheads. I got on Epiduo and took it for 2 months but didn't notice any effect, it was staining my clothes and my bedsheets, and was really annoying and depressing to use. I researched online and saw that Tea Tree Oil was good for my type of acne. I've used it for a couple days now, and the redness seems to be slightly better although I have more whiteheads. im also taking
  15. Hi everyone, I'm in a bit of a state and have confused myself reading so many forums so hoping you can offer advice. Brief history: I was on Roaccutane about 6 years ago and it cleared up my cystic acne beautifully. I still have some scarring but my life has been so improved by the treatment. A year ago I got one cyst out of the blue. Went to the GP who was useless and said there was nothing wrong because the cyst had gone down by then. I have been fighting my corner with the NHS and

  18. i have this really bright red pimple at the tip of my nose. it has no head and is sort of painful. i tried popping it but nothing came out. unfortunately, going to a dermatologist isn't an option:( what can i do to get rid of this horrible pimple? it's so annoying and sooooo hard to cover up:( from what i've read, i think i have a blind pimple. i've seen some websites saying tea tree oil, benzoyl peroxide, or hot water will help. what will get this out the quickest? thank you.
  19. My question is... if an ingredient within a suspended state in whatever it is mixed with to package for relatively long term shelf life is mixed with something else, how long would the active ingredient maintain it potency or effectiveness? An example of what I am referring to is with hair bleaching you must mix two compounds that make the peroxide/bleach portion of this product active thus capable of stripping your hair of color, however, after 30 minutes to an hour it becomes completely inacti
  20. So I recently started using tto as a spot treatment on my cystic acne and I have seen some results but I hear benzoyl peroxide is much faster and better for spot treatments. I wanted to know which I should use, I don't want it to come to a head cause then I have the urge to pick at it and it'll be hard to hide. I just want the inflammation to subside and go away. Help? Possible?

    Tea Tree Oil

Would you consider a mixture of 5% Tea Tree Oil and water on a washcloth and put on the face an effective treatment for the face? I just started two days ago and I think every other day for 5-10 minutes with that solution and a warm washcloth will be beneficial.
  22. I have struggled for the past 2 years with adult acne. It is mostly around my mouth and chin, and a little on my cheeks. I've made the mistake of picking and touching my face more than I should have which has caused marks on my face. It's been very frustrating. It's time to figure out my acne once and for all. Once I get my active acne under control I plan to talk with a plastic surgeon about removing the acne scars and marks. But, first things first, I need to control my active acne. Over t
  23. So I'm a 34 year old woman and my skin has gone crazy again. I'm pretty desperate to find a solution and this is a journal of all the things I am doing to try to fix it--I'm throwing the kitchen sink at this problem. The Regimen worked for me for years. I had a massive breakout when I was 26, which is when I discovered Dan's Regimen. It was a life saver (as was this forum). Over the years, with the Regimen, my skin was rarely flawless, but it was pretty good and largely manageable. There
  24. I am 23 years old and I have been SUFFERING from cystic acne since I was 12. My acne would occasionally get better or worse throughout the years but it was something I just dealt with. I had gone to the dermatologist many times and have been prescribed antibiotics and topicals that may or may not have help but ultimately nothing ever took really got rid of my acne. So I just wore makeup every day and got accustomed to that life. Yes, it has always been hard on me and I've always had horrible c
