  1. Skin Condition Skin redness seems to be minimal like it usually is Lots of acne marks still on my cheeks, no more whiteheads two small red pimples emereged on my upper lip. Nooo. No whiteheads on my chin Just like yesterday my skin was quite dry and flakey. Dryness around my pimples Not as dry around my eyes as yesterday (improvement!) Not as dry around my mouth, But this is still the dryest area of my face my forehead look
  2. Anyone tried this laser out? My doctor just got this one in and used it to treat some steroid rosacea I had developed (due to an overuse of steroid cortizones, due to a rash I developed, due to an overuse of creams.... it's a never ending cycle) It seems to be working. I think its main purpose is to reduce redness, but we'll see what it does for my scarring. Things are looking up... :D/
  3. Hey everyone! So I noticed there's not a whole lot about Perioral Dermatitis or other Dermatitis on the org. Thought I would start a discussion for those in need, me being one of them. So a little background info about me: I broke out in PD about 2 years ago, had no idea what it was, went on about 2 months worth of Tetracycline, and well it did clear up, but it was a painful 2 months. Recently, it just came back. My PD occurs just around my chin area, not the center specifically but the sides
  4. Hi, question for everyone: I had two large acne cysts on my chin injected with steroids about a month ago, and since then they have gotten a little smaller but are still definetely there. They are still raised bumps that look like acne but are kinda purple. Is this a scar? What can I do about this? I go back to the derm next week and she is probably going to want to inject it again, but I am not sure if this will make it go away. I dont know anything about different types of scars or anything, s
  5. Hi All, I had moderate acne. I tried: Clyndamycin, for about 3 months, at the end of it, I got an allergic reaction (I think) to it and my face was covered in small red spots Dan's regimen, I put the BP 3 times, just 3 times (and I didn't use much at all), so a day and a half, and my face got soooo red, that I saw a doctor, and he gave me a corticozone cream (topical steroids) to recover. THis means I am allergic, right? Then I saw a dermatologist, and I was put on mynocyclin 100 mg
  6. I've heard of these injections for cysts and for hypertrophic scar tissue. Do these basically work to flatten out any and all lumps, be they of scar tissue, pus, etc? Is there any sort of bump that they won't help? I ask because I have this recurring lump, at the base of one scar--I have been referring to it as a "growth." It's not red or painful, but keeps coming back. I don't think it's filled with any sort of fluid or anything, but somehow I don't think it's just a hypertophic scar. I h
  7. yep, thats me.....had severe acne (on accutane) got clear and had about 10 months of clear skin and even ran a steroid cycle for about 8 weeks and no acne at all....felt like a new person with clear skin and here i am again.....just so pissed off any of u like this?
  8. Greetings, I have had painful itching acne (?) on my scalp since I was 17, --20 years ago. ( Anyway, the condition always seemed to clear up when I was taking antibiotics for different infections, etc. Recently, I went to see a Derm and he insisted it was non bacterial Seborheic (sp?) Dermatitis. He gave me some topical steroid and some prescription shampoo. I follwed the instructions religiously. After nearly 4 weeks its worse than ever. My scalp gets red acne-like sores which are painf
  9. I have been eating the same non-inflammatory foods (mostly fish, vegetables, gluten-free grains, and berries) for the past two months and my skin was 90% clear. Then all of a sudden my entire forehead developed cystic acne and within 8 hours of this my cheeks had cysts as well. The cysts were red and my face felt itchy like when I used to eat high fructose foods like apples and pears. I was able to pinpoint that the only thing different in my routine was that I took 8 200 mg Ibuprofen pills ov
  10. A few years ago, I was told by my dermatologist that I needed Kenalog injected on each and every single keloid scar spot on my chest. I was nervous at first because I have a very low tolerance in pain. After a few months of injections once a month, I got sick and tired of it. I realized I was just simply unable to handle the needle pain of each injection. I know I'm a grown man but every single injected spot feels like a knife stabbing my chest. It just hurts really badly. I asked the dermato
  11. Hi, I'm new here, so I had these hypertrophic or keloid scars from chest, shoulder and back acne for 2,5 years. They are ruining my life I'm 16 years old I can't go to the beach no more I can't even remember when was the last time that I was without without shirt in public... This year I decided to go to dermatologist well she said that there is no way to get rid of them, I'm currently treated with steroid injections triamcinolone acetonide (Kenalog) and IPL. I see a bit of improvement but I rea
  12. Back when I was 17 my acne flared up and I would wake up with 4 whitehead pus filled zits a day. It was terrible. I went on accutane 80mg a day for 6 months and it cured it almost completely. Although over the years my acne returned and now id say its just moderate-pretty bad. I was going to take steroids in a year. Im worried ill flare back up like at 17. Is accutane safe for a second round? And how can I convince my doc to give me accutane before it gets out of hand,
  13. Help, I have had roaccutane treatment after years of suffering in acne which started january 2010 until half october 2010 and it cured my acne, now it is coming back worse then ever! 1-2 weeks ago I had after having no pimples/acne for months a horrible breakout, I started differin gel and beeryeast supplementation that time. The acne was put to rest for 1 week and now a few days ago I have had another horrible breakout. I really really really wanted to have a skin treatment (like laser or som
  14. Hi, I am a 22 year old female and have been dealing with acne for about 2 years now. It was never bad until my sophomore year of college and then I started getting it really bad on my face back and occasionally chest. It's been on and off but has been really bad now for the past year. In October I was put on Tazorac .05% cream, and it helped but not enough. Plus my chest and back are still bad. I am on Ortho Tricyclin Low and just started taking spironolactone 25 mg two weeks ago. Does any
  15. I was given a topical steroid for this stupid scar on my bottom lip. It hasn't been doing much, but I find that when I apply more than I am supposed to it actually works a little - fades and almost flattens it. Do you think it's safe for me to try applying it like 10 times a day to just the scar? Will it cause the raised scar to shrink or flatten finally? I'm desperate and can't take looking at this thing anymore. The steroid is desowen cream.
  16. Hello all! I have this werd, red mark left from this zit right under my bottom lip. I received a kenalog injection for it, and now there is a slightly raised dent in that area and a strange purple, reddish, brown mark right next to it. I'm sure it was a big mistake to get the kenalog injection, because I have never had a mark like this before. It has been lingering around for 2 months with very minimal improvement. The area is really red and just looks irritated. Any ideas what the hell this is
  17. So I got my very first ever cyst on the side of my right cheek, and at first i just applied my regular spot treatment, which was tea tree oil, but that little bugger didn't heal at all and it was so painful to laugh or smile or do anything! I went to my derm today and she gave me a cortisone shot and then said that I should take Doxycycline for two weeks to make sure I don't get any infections because that is a very rare side effect of getting a steroid injection......just wondering, have any of
  18. Hey guys got a quick question, hope someone can help. I just started my third month today actually and everything was going very smooth. To be honest, VERY good! Dont get me wrong I have the dry lips and had a few breakouts but nothing bad at all however on April 11 I got pretty sick. Started to loose my voice, had a horrible sore throat which then lead to a horrific cough. I went in to the doc last weak and they said it was asmhatic broncitous. No big deal right? Well a few days later I
  19. if you're bulking are you SOL as far as dietary control of acne is concerned? Obviously when you bulk the entire point is to build muscle, and to do that you need to try to get your insulin and testosterone/DHT levels as high as possible... other than steroids the best way to do that is to load up on as much carbs as possible, as much dairy as possible, and as much red meat as possible... but steroids or diet at the end of the day you've got a great anabolic environment for muscle growth but als
  20. 23 year old female How do you tell the difference? Is it just the localization of the acne? In the past 6 months my skin has exploded in the chin/mouth area. It has become such a problem that I cancel basically all social plans, and don't leave the house (even for work - I am a self employed hairdresser). It will go through cycles where it will get a little better, and I will be able to work and what not, but it always continues back to extreme chin/mouth breakouts. I have tried basically ev
  21. I've been seeing this derm for about a year now to treat my keloids. I have something like 30 of them, mostly on the chest, some on my shoulders. We've done about 5 steroid injection sessions and 5 laser sessions throughout the last year. The lasers haven't done jack shit. No redness improvement what-so-ever. On top of that, the flattened scars appear to be re-raising. As a result, the derm said that's it, there's nothing that can be done. No other treatments exist. No more laser since the t
  22. I'm not yet a veteran acnist yet (I actually made up that word, it works tho), but I've had really bad acne since I was 10, now 22. Here are the ingredients I've tried: retinA antibiotics steroids benzoyl peroxide salicylic acid proactiv murad jojoba oil mint oil laser treatments I'm sure I've left out a lot of ingredients which I've used over the years which I've forgotten about b/c they didn't work. I really hate putting all that crap on my face and into my body. I've been looking around thi
  23. All, I was taking accutane for 3 weeks at 80 MG per day. I had to stop becuase I woke up one night with severe joint pain and a racing heart beat. I was in so much pain that even my toes hurt. The joint pain didn't go away as the next 2 days passed and the chest pain started. I started having issues breathing and was rushed to the ER. They did an exray and EKG but didnt find anything. They found a bladder infection, gave me a breathing treatment and steroids/antibiotics. Now its been 11 day
  24. I've been an acne suffer for over two decades (yes, that's 20 years...I'm 32 now) and have tried ALL active ingredients that are regarded as "acne fighters" from pharmaceutical to homeopathic. So, there aren't many regiments I haven't tried over the years to alleviate my mild to moderate acne. And my acne comes in all the basic forms (pustules, blackheads, nodules and cystic all over my body) with combo skin (very oily in some areas/very dry in others). Where there have been some lifestyle chang
