  1. I'm new here, but i'm in desperate need of advice, and I just need to speak out about my experience suffering from acne. See, like alot of you, i suffered with severe cystic acne. I lived with it for a year, and i had to go on Accutane to get rid of it, however it seems that the deep scarring and redness that results from such severe cases has barely changed my situation. Although many of you have also suffered from severe acne, I feel that after reading some threads on how acne has affected p
  2. I'm currently 15 and well acne has really changed my life anyways Ive had acne for 2 or 3 years its never been severe tho until this summer were I just broke out bad worse than ever and now I have severe acne I can't talk to people without trying to avoid eye contact and I've failed 2 of my classes for the 1st semester cause of skipping I just wanna hide in my house and wait till it goes life is hard I'm not always depressed but every now and then I can't help but feel bad , what can I do to cop
  3. Hey, acne.org! Just found this website and read a lot of stuff. Figured I'd make a post. For the past few weeks I've been pretty close to clearing my skin, (mostly due to refraining from touching my face), but just 3 or 4 days ago I picked at my face, and I guess the irritation caused a breakout. I now have about 8 pimples on my face... damn. Friday night is the school dance, it's not necessarily a big deal, but I figured that could be my goal for clear skin. How can I clear my face
  4. I'm sure others can relate to this... As an individual that doesn't deal with acne anymore and hasn't in a very long time I can probably attest to being out of the loop with the feeling of anxiety from acne in social environments. However, I've realized that when I'm meeting someone for the first time I generally don't pay much attention to the amount of acne they have. Honestly I don't really think anything about any superficial blemishes until someone points it out or references it during
  5. INVITING YOU TO MY JOURNEY WITH ACCUTANE...I AM 32 YEARS OLD WITH MODEREATE ACNE STARTED OUT WITH SEVERE ACNE AND THROUGH TACKLING WITH ALL THE CREAMS AND 3 STEP SYSTEMS OUT THERE I JUST CANNOT GET RID OF IT. THROUGH NUMEROUS VISITS WITH MY DERMATOLOGIST SHE HAS FINALLY GAVE IN AND PRESCRIBED THE ACCUTANRE FOR ME..YAY!! TRUTH IS TO GET TO THE MODERATE STAGE THAT I AM IN NOW I JUST STOPPED WITH ALL THE CREAMS AND ANTIBOITICS. I WENT STRICTLY CLEANSING MY FACE WITH CETEPHIL DAILY CLEANSER AND MOIS
  6. sorry if its long, but please read it all. thanks. Ever since i was 13 around 7th grade i started getting really oily skin and a few pimples on my forehead but i didnt think it was a big deal. Oh, how wrong was i. Then in 8th grade I broke out like crazy everywhere. It only got worse in highschool, as i got a really big red and dry patch on my forehead that i couldnt treat. Worst moments of my life, but i still managed to be somewhat social. I was later able to treat that patch (which at som
  7. Hi Day 28 symptoms are the same. I usually break out on one side of my face more than another but not these days, they both are horrible. I don't have much to update besides to vent to feel better. Acne has the WORST effect on my self confidence. I knew I had to get back on accutane because I started skipping out on social gatherings just because I felt so ugly but would have otherwise attended. And I'm feeling the same way now with this IB (initial breakout); its so bad -- there was a social ev
  8. Hi guys! I'm trying to solve one big acne mystery. I've been suffering from acne almost 10 years now (I am 23 years old now) and I have tried many things but nothing has helped. Over those years I have eliminated foods that are breaking me out like dairy, sugar(chocolate, sodas, sweets etc.), fried foods, potato chips, nuts, citrus fruit and processed meat (ham, salami...). These are foods that definitely worsen my skin condition. I have even tried for some time vegeterian diet as well as glut
  9. I always wonder if other guys rarely care about Acne or if it's mainly the girls in my school. On this website, the balance seems relatively even but I've heard girls say it's harder for them because they think people are more judgemental of their looks and expect more and have also heard guys say it's easier for girls because they can just use makeup. Do you think Acne bothers both genders equally as it is just as problematic for everyone, or are girls just more open to talking about it? I've h
  10. Okay so first of all hi to everyone I am new on this forum (: I am from Brasil and just turned 16 this week, things are not going well..I've been suffering with severe acne since 2009 and my life is going downhill so far because of that.. I know that lot of people here should suffer the same as I do or even more... I can't look at my face in the mirror anymore, people make fun of me at school, and they always see as some kind of monster. I had a girlfriend for half a year and lost her to
  11. I am acned for 3 years now, and I have accepted it as part of my life. But every time a friend of mine that have not seen me for 3 years sees my condition now, they would either pity me or wonder what the hell had happened to me. So now I am fighting against acne and I am asking you guys out there if is it really good to use oil blotter for the face. Give me your suggestions and it is of course appreciated.
