  1. Hi guys, for the past half a year or so my acne has grew steadily worse. As it has worsened i have become a much less social person and rarely enjoy going out due to the fear of ridicule of my skin. I've suffered with acne for the majority of my teenage years (19 Y/O now) (It was severe acne from 16-18) and I have tried many treatments including diet change, regular excersising, accutane, benzonyl peroxide, oxytetracyline and ethromycin. The accutane worked a treat but the side effects were seve
  2. im kinda curious its that thing when you think of various reasons to not go to invites from friends or others not attending events anymore and even skip school/uni when you feel really uneasy around people, its hard to look people in the eyes and talk and so on. soon days goes into weeks and there you have it. google it if you dont know what is that. but the thing is you didnt have it before, it appeared after you got acne.
  3. does anyone have any advice to help overcome social anxiety from acne and scars? i feel like im getting worse and worse. i pretty much isolate myself. its mostly about my scarring. i have icepick scarring all over my face. if i had to rate my anxiety 1-10 it feels like a 10. somedays just an 8. i wish i had money to go to counselling but i had to much anxiety to go back when i had the chance. its so bad. do you have any tips or ideas or supplements that work for you? im going to have to start wo
  4. So this is a random question but I feel like my acne left me with a lot of emotional problems. First of all when I had acne (now i only have some scarring left) I was always anxious to be in bad lighting and stuff like that. So i guess after so much constant worrying i still feel social anxiety bc it was so common to me before that it hasn't gone away even if the original problem is gone. Is there any way to get rid of this other than seeing a doctor? because I don't want any anxiety pills AT
  5. (This just happens to be my very first forum so please bare with me) I have been suffering from acne from the age of 13. I developed nasty, red, inflammed nodular cyst that seemed to swallow my face. I went to the dermatologist, where she told me the obvious and put me on Accutane for 6 months. The accutane worked wonders, cleared of my skin quite nicely, and for about 3 years, I had very nice skin. However, half way through my Junior year. my face suddenly became out of control. The painfu
  6. Looking back on when I was this vibrant young girl who practically lived to perform on stage and in front of a crowd, I can't believe I have turned into this 18 year old who has completely wasted her summer because she is too nervous to leave the house. I have developed this horrible case of social anxiety. It is completely crippling my social life. I know this began when my acne started to get worse, specifically when I started scarring. I completely freaked out because it seemed so permanent a
  7. Long story short, when I was in high school I had mild acne, but it really bothered me. I ended up skipping too many classes on my "bad days" and ultimately had to leave school without finishing. I kind of slipped through the system with little notice. So now I am trying to finish my high school diploma, mostly through online courses. I recently signed up for a day class in which you stay for 3 hours a day and get that credit in one month, but ... yes, I am dropping out Monday, because of all
  8. Hi guys! I'm trying to solve one big acne mystery. I've been suffering from acne almost 10 years now (I am 23 years old now) and I have tried many things but nothing has helped. Over those years I have eliminated foods that are breaking me out like dairy, sugar(chocolate, sodas, sweets etc.), fried foods, potato chips, nuts, citrus fruit and processed meat (ham, salami...). These are foods that definitely worsen my skin condition. I have even tried for some time vegeterian diet as well as glut
