  1. I'm super excited to announce that my skin has been consistently clear and non-irritated for about a month now. The products I'm currently using have slowly weaned its way into my regimen - I'm starting to realize that skincare is a delicate balance of taking care of your skin - really listening to it on a daily basis to improve it overall. As a result, instead of completely switching products or starting completely new regimens, I've slowly incorporated the products into my regimen - especially
  2. I’ve been using African black soap for a month now too. When can I expect to see results if it works?
  3. I’ve been suffering from acne since I was 13 and I am 16 now turning 17 soon and the acne has only just gotten worse. There was a period in time where my skin started to clear up when I applied Tea Tree Oil to it every night but it dried my skin out so I stopped using it and my acne just came back way worse as soon as I stopped, so I tried to go back to it but now my skin just rejects it and nothing has changed. Ive heard the amazing reviews on the Indian healing clay mask so I got some an
  4. Has anyone tried any of his products? I am interested in his rose water spray but wanted to know if it was comedogenic? Is it good for sensitive skin? Thanks x
  5. Hey, I am a new acne.org member. I am in a dilemma of choosing an efficient and budget friendly sunscreen for my skin. Provided that I breakout easily and have super oily skin. Which of these is good?
  6. Hey guys, So I have been using Cetaphil's gentle cleanser to wash my face for about a year. However, it still dries my face a ton!!! I thought it was supposed to be one of the least drying products out there! If anybody has any experience with another cleanser that might be less drying please let me know. I can't even go swimming without my face looking totally dried and flaky. Please please please let me know if any of you guys are using a product that is less drying. It would help me immense

  9. So this all started a couple months ago when I had a huge zit on my nose, I've been letting it grow older so I would be able to pop it. Now I finally decided it was time to pop it but it just started to bleed a lot so being an idiot I ripped the skin of so its a like circle. After that it was just red, however skin started to grow back but I kept picking at it! After that I let the skin grow back but it was a purplish brown colour so I picked it off! Now skin will not grow back and I'm not sure
  10. So my dermatologist has had me on Epiduo Forte and Solodyn for 13 days now, and it's been working great for my acne (cystic and closed comedones). Backstory: my forehead had been the worst the areas since 6 months ago when this all started. So all the products/treatments I tried mainly concentrated there. I still put makeup on the lower half of the face, but never on the forehead. and when my skin started to get better, I wanted to give a bit of concealer or even foundati
  11. What angers me most about acne is all the missed opportunities it caused me to have during my teen years that I will never get back. I had no friends and never did anything exciting as a teen because I lived in isolation not by choice. I'm 21 now and have pretty much clear skin and I feel like I'm years behind everyone else because it socially stunted me and it's hard to start a social life from scratch as you get older.
  12. Hello! I have just finished my course on Accutane, woohoo! I have been experiencing very red skin for months now, both on, and now off Accutane. I never had the problem before taking the medication, but now I get a lot of comments about it, and it sucks! My skin will randomly feel very hot and get extremely red a few times a day at school, but normally it's just red, and my hands are both red and cold (no pain or discomfort!). I also get very sweaty palms. please help me! Thanks
  13. My mother got mad at me because she claims that I am bleaching my skin and she is afraid that I am going to damage my skin. She got so mad that she told my Aunt and my Aunt had to talk to me about skin bleaching and she seemed very disappointed and I felt really embarrassed. I am 21 and I don't understand why she is doing this to me? I don't consider myself bleaching my skin but I want my skin to look less dull without foundation and I don't want any dark marks on my face. This is my skincare
  14. Hey guys, I've been trying to figure out for about a year now what is exactly wrong with my face. I have these red spots/scars all over my cheeks and I still have some actual active acne but I don't know whether these scars are fixable or not. They aren't deep scars, just surface. What are these and what can I use to help? I currently use nip and fab glycolic pads, scrub, and mask. Also African black soap and a salycyclic and glycolic toner.
  15. Hi! I am posting again. I don't know exactly what it is but I thought I hade these rolling scars on my right cheek that were created by some bad cystic acne. It's not really rolling scars though cause the surface skin in that area is very flat and scarless but the skin underneath it is uneven and it's like it has irregular lumps. Anyway it seems to have improved by 50% over the last 5 years on it's own. It's still there though. I have used intense 1mm dermaroller on it (yes lots of blood) and it
  16. Hello, I ve been using the treatment for about 3/4 months now... I had a lot of hyperpigmentation on my skin but a few active acne. My skin has improved a lot the scars are starting to fade away. BUT my main concern now is that my skin is very dry no matter how much moisturizer I put on. I use the acne.org moisturizer mixed with argan oil but my skin is still very dry. I am also noticing that my skin is cracking a lot. I want to know if you have any suggestion to stop my skin from cracki
  17. This year, I've become increasingly frustrated with my acne since it has started appearing more frequently in strange places - like my forearms, hands, fingers, and stomach. While in the past I put my acne concerns on the back burner, recent events have made fighting this acne a much higher priority. It's at least somewhat socially acceptable to have acne on the face - or on the back and chest - but not other weird places. It's just scary and frustrating to think that I might not have any c

I wasn't going to post these pictures because it's embarrassing to see just how bad my skin used to be!!! However, I figured someone could benefit from my struggle. I've struggled with acne for the last 10 years. I've tried changing my diet, prescription meds, Proactiv, Murad, Clean & Clear, Neutrogena, all-natural face washes, masks, scrubs, etc. YOU NAME IT, I'VE TRIED IT!!!! I even tried to cover it with makeup. But no matter how much concealer you use, there's just no covering a bumpy su

  20. Hello everybody! This is a new blog I will be starting which will consist of my life with acne and how I got through high school, community college, college, and now grad. A little background information about me. I have had acne since my senior year of high school and throughout my college career. I have taken multiple acne prescriptions throughout my life. Here is a list of some of the prescriptions: Benzoyl Peroxide Tretinoin Doxycycline Hyclate Clindamycin Phosphate Epiduo Bactri
  21. So this is my first entry, and I think I should start with who I am. Maybe this will help you relate and maybe stuff that helps me will help you! So I'm a 21 year old girl with not too severe acne but enough acne to lower my self-esteem. My journey so far: I had baby skin throughout puberty. Like. My skin was epic. Beautiful. Made from the gods. Okay, maybe not that good but you get the picture. And then it slowly said "F you UnspoiledDude, F you!" and changed into this mess of a skin.
  22. I have had these annoying and stubborn skin coloured bumps which I recently found it was called closed comedones which have been on my face for 2 years and are extremely stubborn. It looks absolutely dreadful on me when I wear makeup such as foundation and it's mainly located on my cheeks. I've tried every single product from really high end to really cheap and have found that using homemade masks and treatments work the best
  23. Skin Condition Per usual, my skin looks the least red in the morning Lots of acne marks still on my cheeks, no surprise The pimples on my lip continue to shrink and dry out The three tiny whiteheads on my chin have reappeared despite popping them so I guess thats a sign not to do that again I actually woke up with what i would describe as slightly OILY skin. Wow. Thats the first time that has happened since I started this treatment. It wasnt gross oily, but like, he
