    My skin before Acutane

    Here’s my skin before Acutane
  2. I was just looking at photos of myself taken by a doctor. I look so horrible I can't believe it. I look worse than I thought. How did I get this bad? Not only is my skin scared, but I have deep wrinkles and dark circles in my eyes! My nose looks messed up too. The acne scars seem to be getting a bit better due to the subcision and laser, but that might be because of swelling. How did I end up looking this bad? I can't believe it! Is there hope? I'm already in my late 50s.
  3. I've had bad hyperpigmentation since I was 16. It has gotten somewhat better, but they still remain with Icepick scars. I think most of it has to do with my constant time in the sun during he sports, but I'm 20 now. So my dermatologist has been putting me on tretinon and aczone and I have seen slight improvement with 4 months of use. But the main thing that won't go away are the ice pick Scars that make my pores look TERRIBLE under florescent light. I've bought the AHA from the store on th
  4. My forehead has small bumps/ texture to it. A few of them seem to be slightly red but i think they may be pimples? Does this look like closed comedones, clogged/congested skin, fungal acne or is it something completely different, I've had it for the longest time. Some days its worse other days it's not as bad, I'm prone to hormonal acne and it seems to look worse when it's that time of the month. I do have keratosis pilaris on the bottom of my legs but I dont think that's what i
  5. Hello I am a new member, long time lurker of this expansive community. I used to suffer from mild acne that turned moderate and then it peaked at severe cystic acne. I treated and "cured" the cystic acne with an unconventional method called "cave man regimen" Yes this new method worked by allowing the cystic inflammation to heal, but I believe not washing my face for an extended period of time brought about a whole new issue that I have never experienced before: Seborrheic Dermititis. The people
  6. I had severe body acne in my teens and up till my 40s. It was severe! I had it on my face too but not as severe. Antibiotics helped clear that up. As of yesterday I saw how severe the scars are on my back. Now, all of a sudden I realize how severe the deep emotional and physical trauma has affected me and I know I am still not over it. What do I do about the feelings? What do I do about the scars? I don't know if there is much help for the scars on my back, perhaps there is some. I did

    How I Cleared My Skin

Hi everyone, I've been on this website for a little while but I haven't posted in over a year. I was updating a post with my acne journey until September, 2017, but just lost track of time. My skin has cleared up so incredibly much. I had normal acne on combination skin and now I have very few typical breakouts. I do have some occasional cystic acne now that I'm working on a routine for, but this post is about general acne. My original post focused on the prescription products my dermatolo
  8. Now, it is week 11 of my treatment (and technically week 7 of using adapalene and clindamycin). There hasn't been any major changes. The large pimples I mentioned last time have mostly gone down. There's only one large pimple now and my right cheek has become a bit smoother. Other than that, there's nothing interesting. Also, I forgot to mentioned in the last entry, but I am Asian with medium skin tone that can tan fairly easy. I don't each much junk food as I use to (a bag of chips every
  9. Hello! So, I know the title of this blog post is Week 10, even though this is my first ever post about using adapalene and clindamycin, but I wanted to name Week 8 b/c it's the 8th week of me going through my treatment. I was just too lazy to start a blog back in week 1 haha Skin Type: Little oily, had mainly closed comedones, not many cysts, acne mainly on my cheeks, moderate acne Background Info: Up to the age of 16, my skin was clear and good. I would be able to eat junk
  10. A little background about me: I have had acne since 3rd or 4th grade, in high school I found out I was celiac, and that helped a lot. After high school I got my wisdom teeth out and and had to take an antibiotic which exploded my skin. I took medication for my acne, which was great, but it gave me period cramps so bad that I would throw up every month. DID NOT WANT TO LIVE LIKE THAT, so I stopped taking it. I was on a mostly vegan with some fish diet with lots of plant-based vitamin A, which wo
  11. I’ve always had very clear skin but for about a year and a half now I’ve developed these red looking bumps on my face, they’re kind of raised, mostly flat, they don’t itch or anything and they don’t seem like pimples. It also seems like it’s undernesth my skin. Someone told me it’s the bacteria that causes acne on my face but they recommened me a $100+ product. I’ve switched my products time and time again, I use home remedies, they won’t go away. People tell me it could be due to stress? But I’
  12. I have started using the Regimen consistently about one and a half week ago. I follow the instructions precisely. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing some (known) side-effects of the benzoyl peroxide. Using the Cleanser? No problems at all! However, when I apply the benzoyl peroxide on my skin, it starts to burn/sting after some seconds. This is an unpleasant but manageable feeling and it is supposed to dissappear after my skin gets used to benzoyl peroxide, so I hope it does... When the
  13. Whoever had skin/acne problems and had tried both spironolactone and Yasmin( doesn’t need to be at the same time ) , please give me some advises ~ which one do you prefer?? My background: I have genetic oily skin with acne problems since teenager and tried many topical treatments and products , nothing really worked except the brith control pill Yasmin. So I have been on Yasmin for at least 7 years and stopped it six months ago. During that 7 years my skin has improved A LOT ! Still

    Acne mystery

Hi guys! I'm trying to solve one big acne mystery. I've been suffering from acne almost 10 years now (I am 23 years old now) and I have tried many things but nothing has helped. Over those years I have eliminated foods that are breaking me out like dairy, sugar(chocolate, sodas, sweets etc.), fried foods, potato chips, nuts, citrus fruit and processed meat (ham, salami...). These are foods that definitely worsen my skin condition. I have even tried for some time vegeterian diet as well as glut
  16. ★Why does the DAILY use of SmartPhones cause PAIN in the HANDS and other parts of the body?★ Many users who touch the screens of SmartPhones for long periods feel a BURNING or ITCHING sensation on the TIPS of their FINGERS. The regular use of SmartPhones for months and years can even cause deformities in the nails of their fingers. The daily or regular use of SmartPhones causes PAIN in the HANDS of users because the low-voltage ELECTRICAL IMPULSES of their SmartPhones CON
  17. I’m going to do some monthly posts instead because weekly posts are becoming more and more monotonous and I don’t have time to post weekly. The past month was kinda rough, with lots of rounds of breaking out, calming down, and then breaking out again. The closed comedones are still being stubborn, though they have noticeably decreased. The few that come to heads are somewhat painful and contain a yellowy-white hard grain, like ¼ of a uncooked grain of rice. Switching into college was complicated

    Week 3 on Accutane

My third week of Accutane is over! My face had gotten a little worse if anything, my chin has broken out in about 5 spots but luckily they have all been small and don’t last very long. My nose seems to be covered in blackheads which I never really noticed before but I guess everything is being pushed out and it just means it’s working. I know I shouldn’t but I’ve been using epiduo on my chin and nose to try and help. In terms of side effects I’ve recently started getting bad headaches as well
  20. Please help me I'm desperate... I'm coming up to the two months mark of using Epiduo and my skin has completely transformed. I used to have extremely mild acne; some raised bumps on my forehead which were barely visible and the occasional pimple and I now have awful acne and the most awful scars. I'm wishing that I never even started Epiduo. My self esteem is ruined and I've cried myself to sleep these past few nights. My face now has so much deep, red and purple scarring (something which
  21. So I want to start what would be considered the caveman regimen. The only thing is I live in south Florida and I wear sunscreen every single day, it’s something I can’t go with out. My face would fry. I want to start only washing with water and using no products on my face and see how it goes. Is water okay to use as the only thing to get the sunscreen off my face at the end of the day? I’ve always been made to believe you need to wash sunscreen off your face. I read online people suggest using

    Week 2 on Accutane

I finished my second week of accutane a few days ago and my skin is blemish free! It’s been years since I’ve had not one spot on my face! My skin hasn’t broken out in over a week now but I’ve noticed that in certain lights my skin does look more uneven and my pores look larger. I’ve read from other people’s blogs that their pores became less visible after a few months so I’m hoping this happens with me too. My lips and skin aren’t as dry anymore so I haven’t felt the need to use moisturiser

    Acne help

I have some scars/decolouration of the skin after some pretty bad acne over the past few years. I have been on doxycycline for around 6 months and my acne is starting to clear but I still have these marks from picking skin etc, and I want to know some of the best/quickest ways to remove and fade the colouring and marks and make my skin clear. Any home treatments, products etc will be appreciated and also anything for future prevention. Also if anyone could tell me what the name of the particular
