  1. I posted here about two months ago in a desperate attempt to diagnose what the problem with my skin is. Shortly after that I dumbed it down to just having clusters of whiteheads on my cheeks and it must be due to over-drying/over-moisturizing and my skin being confused with the products I use. Ever since I've started using two different products, my skin has changed DRASTICALLY in the most positive way. I started using Paula's Choice BHA Exfoliant 1% in samples in mid-February. I've been u
  2. Hey, everyone. I'm new to Acne.org and this is my first topic. I'm using Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%), and it's working great for me. The only problem is, it causes peeling despite the low percentage. I think I might've used a little too much on the bridge of my nose, so my older skin peeled off. I have younger and smoother skin on that area now, but around it is the rest of my dull old skin. It's kind of weird having bright radiant skin in one area. It kind of stands out from the rest. The texture o
  3. Has anyone used the Alpha Hydrox brand- 12% Glycolic acid in a souflee form? Did you like it better than Dan's? Did it make marks appear lighter faster or texture more even? What are your thoughts in general? My indentations are red and ugly from BP and I need some ideas! Thanks!
  4. I completed my Accutane treatment and now I am supposed to wait 6 months-1 year before I proceed with the scar treatments. My doctor who will perform the subcision told me that 6 months would be enough. In the meantime I'll try to combat the discoloration by applying fortifying serums/creams. Time is on my side... I've read that 6 months is all it takes for the PIH to fade away. My face is still drier than it used to be and I hope it stays that way, because I don't want to deal with the same o
  5. So I'm on about month 8 or 9 of spironolactone and I'm finally seeing an improvement in my skin. I currently only have one active pimple but usually I'm pretty clear. Right now my biggest concern is the enlarged and scarred pores I have left over from my acne and I'm not really sure what to do about them. Around my nose and on my tzone I have a huge blackhead problem as well. I also have a pretty uneven texture to my skin that is really only noticeable in certain lighting if you look hard, but i
  6. Hello All, I've attached several photos, they include my forehead, cheeks and between my eyebrows. Q1: I would like to know if this is what you would call acne? Q2: I would like to know what is causing me to get these spots and how do I prevent them? Could it be my diet? I'm 18 years old and would have to admit that my diet does consist of a lot of unhealthy foods. Q3: I wouldn't mind getting spots, if they didn't leave behind dark marks that stay for ages! The most noticeable dark marks
  7. Hey guys, haven't been on here in a while. I've had scarring for about two years now, but since I'm going off to college this fall, I want to do as much as I can to alleviate it in the meantime. Any suggestions for my hypertrophic scars (my biggest insecurity), atrophic scars (esp. on temples), and hyperpigmentation/skin tone in general? Thank you so much! edit: My current regimen is the Acne.org regimen with the face wash, bp, lotion, and jojoba oil. I also supplement it their AHA+ thing a
  8. Hello my fellow acne sufferers! I'm new to this site, so I will first share a little bit about myself My name is Sarah, I am 25, I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I have suffered with acne since I was about 12 years old. The whole "awkward high school acne" thing was not so bad for me since most of my peers shared the same problem, but when I surpassed the awkward hormonal stage and my acne wasn't gone, it started to get pretty annoying. I have always had the surface pimples and then
  9. As we all know from experience that after using any amount of isotretanoin or Accutane our skin tone changes from our natural olive skin tone to a pinkish pale skin tone. Even one year later going Paleo and Caveman skin tone remains the same pinkish but no longer receiving any acne thanks to a change in diet. I have only been off isotretanoin for one year after 3 1/2 months of applying topical isotretanoin every day to my face. Is there anybody out there who stopped using topicals all together a
  10. Hi. I'm new to the site. I have major acne blemishes, and it's already ruined my self-esteem, so it can't be any worse to post a photo of my face. I don't know exactly what my skin tone is so that I could choose a proper color of foundation for my skin. I was wondering if any of you lovely people could help me out. I have provided a photo of my face. I blocked out my eyes and mouth because I'm really ugly, and not comfortable with people seeing my entire face or identifying who I am. But, if any
  11. Hi I have acne and bright red acne marks/scars over my chin, cheeks and jawline, I sometimes get spots on my back. Basically my skin gets clogged easily. I have tried EVERYTHING you can get from a doctor (in the UK). I have had this since age 11 and I am now 23 and sick of feeling hideous. I was considering n-lite laser but I have found very mixed reviews about this. Sunbeds are one of the only things I have not yet tried and I'm so desperate that I am considering using them. The majority of m
