  1. I haven't been able to write for a while as I was on vacation. I bumped my dosage up to 30 mg for the second month, so I have been on that for about 20 days now. I will be seeing my dermatologist next week and I want to go up to 60 mg a day, which would be about my max, and would mean I could finish my cumulative dose by October. I know that low dosing provides less symptoms, but I do NOT want to be on this stuff for a whole year. We want to get pregnant next year, so... There has
  2. I've seen lots of people say you should avoid shea butter if you have oily skin and I decided to try it out. I personally liked the feeling of it, but I still trust general consensus more. However I have been using topical retinol which has dried out my skin. I'm wondering whether that means I can use Shea Butter confidently now?
  3. Has any one head of this treating mild/moderate active acne?? theres only a few forums about these products but i want to know if any one used this stuff on actual ACTIVE acne without any initial breakout and it got better?? ANYONE please let me know if you have any info on these two products PLEASE.. thanks! (:
  4. HAPPY 2012!!! Hope everyone had an awesome new years! I bought unrefined shea butter online and it got rid of the flakey patches and it actually helps even out skin tone/ fade dark marks! The only downside is it is quite greasy (but doesn't clog pores) so I wouldn't use it before I go out. Also because it's unrefined, it is solid at room temperature and you need to melt it by rubbing it in your hands before putting it on. It's a great winter lotion for the body too. Skin is doing surpri
  5. Has any one head of black soap and/or raw pure shea butter treating mild/moderate active acne?? theres only a few forums about these products but i want to know if any one used this stuff on actual ACTIVE acne without any initial breakout and it got better?? ANYONE please let me know if you have any info on these two products PLEASE.. thanks! (:
  6. Hey. I'm new to the site, but now I'm finnaly clear I wanted to share with others how I did it so they can (hopefully) achieve the same fantastic results that I did! I started getting acne at around 16 and it had flared up to pretty moderate/severe cystic acne by the time I was about 17. I took minocycline for a while and started using benzoyl peroxide cream in the form of 'Quinoderm'. I did see results after a few months, but the benzoyl peroxide was far too harsh for my skin and, although
  7. i just started using shea butter at night i used to use it about a yr ago and had been for over a yr but i cant remember if it made my skin purge when i first started using it and i honestly dont know why i stopped cause it did wonders for my skin tone but anywayss just started using it again and got about 6 new pimples in my problem area. 1 the night after i started using it and 3 that came up the 5th day and now 2much smaller pimples the 6th and 7th day the pimples at first were a little bigge
  8. After successfully using the oil cleansing routine for nearly an entire year (during which my face didn’t look oily), I got acne (p. acne) - BUT I think that’s cos I stupidly used shea butter as a moisturiser and it’s probs too heavy for my skin which allowed an anaerobic environment for breeding and development of the acne. Anyhow, I was given duac (benzoyl peroxide 5% and clindamycin 1%) and told to cut oils from my skincare, and, yes my acne is packing up and leaving (btw I’m also on lymecy
  9. Hey guys, I've been on the Acne.org treatment for a little over 2 months and I know this is expected but my skin is super super dry. I mean it feels like sand paper! I was curious to know if anybody uses natural shea butter as a moisturizer with the cleanser and treatment? I was thinking about swaping out the acne.org moisturizer for the shea butter. It always worked for my skin. I stopped using two pumps because during the day my skin would be super oily and I wear makeup to hide my hy
