  1. Hey guys....this is the first time I've posted here but i'm just so happy with the success of my Acne Cure Plan that i just HAD to share it with other people... Firstly, my name's Vanessa, I'm 18 and i live in Australia. My acne started in year 9 and continued until the end of year 12 until i went on this amazing plan and got rid of it for good I know that some of you have heard of Dr Dubrow and his book, "The Acne Cure". I was heaps skeptical when i first read it but i was desperate and so

    My success with Adult Acne

I have been struggling with adult acne for the last 10 years. It has been moderate to severe including whiteheads, blackheads, and cystic acne. I have tried ProActive, ZenMed, Retin-A, Microderm Abrasion, Tetracycline, MyChelle, Neutrogena Acne Treatments, etc. I have also tried different vitamins, herbal supplements, etc. I found that being on a general Multi-Vitamin was helpful and of course the Tetracycline worked great for 2 years and then I became immune to it and the acne returned. I

Sulfur and its part in acne

Hi readers, I'll try to keep this as brief as possible. I've had a major breakthrough over the last couple of months which I've been searching for for ages. Here is my story: Reading databased's interesting posts on Zinc, I had to give it a try and found that high levels of zinc picolinate had a pronounced positive effect on my acne but it wasn't the cure. I would still get 'new stuff' coming through. I took a lot of supplements back then try to 'cover all bases' but didn't find anything

    Diet and Supplementation

In about a week I will be starting acne boot camp, haha. I'm going to be making a huge change in my diet, adding vitamins and supplements to it. I will also start exercising and basically doing everything just to promote great health in general. I'm going to be following the Acne Yoda program. I actually started it last fall and stayed on it for a month. Unfortunately I ended up slacking off because of school and work. In that month I got amazing results though. My whole face cleared up and any
  5. Hi everybody, I'm new here but I have browse these forums form here and there over the last several months. I know what works for some people are not necessarily going to work for others but I thought I would just post my regiment in case if it might help any of you too. I am not a doctor (fact I haven't been to a doctor about my acne or dermatologist since my late teens), I am simply describing my personal experience. I'm 23, male, Asian and have sensitive fair facial skin. Throughout my te

    Eating Raw Garlic Ancient Medicine

http://www.innerself.com/Health/garlic.htm Why Is Garlic Good For You? Why is garlic, in its original form or as the extract of the aged vegetable, good for you? Garlic contains germanium and selenium, which are sulfur-containing antioxidants that boost the immune system. In the study mentioned, conducted by Dr. Tariq Abdullah, Kyolic killed 20 percent more of the tumor cells in laboratory cultures than did raw garlic. And raw garlic is by itself one of the most potent boosters of your natural

  9. Hi I don't post much so please excuse my para-trooperdness, Omega 3 fatty acids, Zinc, Selenium,Magnesium, Vitamins A and E and antioxidants areNOTHING if you're intestinal tract is unhealthy. Toxins and intestinial colon poisoning are not only a huge primary culprit in acne and over all bad skin, it is preventing us from recieving the vitamins we need to achieve a healthy body and appearance. 11. Hi, I've started taking Bio-Selenium + Zinc tablets, and I was wondering if there's anything in them which could help with my acne? They contain the following: Vitamin E (15mg) Vitamin C (90mg) Vitamin B6 (1,6mg) Zinc (15mg) Selenium (organic) 100 ug
  12. Proponents of vitamins can sometimes be a little overzealous with their claims. At my old job, I used to hear things like, "this will prevent male baldness," or "this will increase fat burn," or even "this will cure your acne!" If I were to believe every anecdote concerning vitamin successes, I would be popping a pill from every bottle in the vitamin aisle. So I'm trying to identify the vitamins and supplements that have been documented for their effect on acne. I am hoping some of you may a
  13. Hello Guys, If you are looking for a acne medication that will not make your face dry like the effect of BP and make your acne heal the natural way without scar. I will recommend you to use the natural botanical organic essential oils that I am using right now. Damn, to be honest if I discover it before I would not used BP because it dry my skin so much and make my pimple dark. I have an asian skin and my face was really oily. I discovered that the secret is how you clean your face. Now, my pim

    My Multi-Vitamin

It is called Multi+ Daily Trim from Genuine Health. I have heard about people using the Multi+ Daily Glow (also by Genuine Health) which helped their acne, but this was on sale at the time. Besides, I compared the too, and they are basically the same. This seems to be a great multi-vitamin! And I think I may like it better as it has green tea extract in it - and green tea is known to help detox! ...So I figured it was a win-win, right? Anyway, I'm just wondering if this is a good enough multi-v

    Continuously Clear Essentials

Thank goodness for this product line. It is so great to only have to use it as maintenance when I need it. I was surprised after so many disappointments, over the counter products, prescriptions, and homemade remedies people told me about that didn't work. If you thought acne was something you were supposed to grow out of, you are not alone. Millions of American adults suffer from pimples, painful cysts and blackheads we thought were limited to teens. 1. Daily Rituals Essentials is the daily c
  20. To make a long sad story short... About 5 years ago I was put on doxycycline for a very, very mild case of acne (although try telling that it was 'mild' to a 19 year old girl)... anyway! It worked perfectly, and after 7 months I just stopped taking it. That winter I had strept throat and was given the "Z Pack" antibiotics (only 5 pills). I broke out into this horrific acne-like rash and had no idea what it was. I thought it was an allergy to the zithromax antibiotic... but what it really was
  21. Hi, does anyone who has been on accutane or not know if its okay to have vitamins like, obviously not vitamin A, but like Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E etc? If its okay to have herbs like Milk Thistle, Artichoke, Olive Leaf, Oat's etc And if its okay to have other supplements like EFA oil's (flax seed oil, borage oil, evening primrose oil, etc)? And other supplements like aloe vera, glutamate? Would appreciate any advice, thanks

    Should I discontinue supp. use

I've always been anti-supplement. And even though I take a ton of supplements a day I am still very against them, the only reason I still use them is because I am stuck in the mindset that they are speeding up the process of my skin healing. However, supplements are very dangerous, and I feel like some of them cause me to breakout. At the moment I am taking: Vitamin C 1000 mg, twice daily Vitamin A 10,000 IU, twice daily Selenium 200 mcg, twice daily Vitamin E 400 IU, twice daily Zinc 50 mg

    the last resort!

ok so here we go, first day of accutane(clavaris). I guess i'll do a little background to sum up why i am starting this. Im 21 started breaking out at about 15 and a half. Went to the derm put me on doxycycline and cleocin T and differin. worked ok, nothing special but did keep everything under control well. insurance ran out after a while so that was that. then it came on really bad. tried proactiv route, it lost its effect after a few months, tried murad system and just made it horrible. th
  24. il try not to write anything too arduous to read... at worst, my acne was quite nasty, big cysts would form just over my cheek bones but the rest of my face was only prone to the occasional white head. the cysts were particularly distressing though because they left hyperpigmented areas and slight depressions. although i'd been getting the occasional white head since age 14 it only got serious at about 18 and now im 20, its all gone. the best part being how the depressions have filled out and t
  25. I see that many people have reported getting rashes or irritated skin from using this shampoo, and have been put off using it as such. Firstly, i would like to say i am keeping a log of my use of the shampoo which i will post when it's a bit bigger. So far i have had a little skin irritation, but have discovered this is most likely down to leaving it to soak in so that it is on my skin all day. Yeah.. don't do that. Why is this medication prescribed? Selenium sulfide, an anti-infective agent,
