  1. right cheek(worse) left cheek (not as bad as right) ps i don't know if the pics will show up because I'm new to this site and don't really know how to use it... and sorry for not rotating the pics. Anyways.. I get papules that turn into pustules. They take about 2 weeks or more to go away and leave this horrible bright red mark, and I don't even pop it. I ordered Dan's BP treatment and Purpose cleanser and Olay moisturizer (the one he recommends) and I'm going to start The Regimen when my o

    Is This Scarring?

Hey, I'm on 20mg accutane and supposently my acne on my chest is gone and this is scarring? Is this actually scarring and if so how can I get rid of it, any treatments, creams, procedures exc. Or is it just acne, and should I ask for my accutane dose to be upped? Thanks
  3. So first off, I know my acne isn't anywhere near as bad as a lot of other people's. It's just really been getting worse lately, and I have no idea what to do because it's seriously effecting (affecting?) my self-esteem and confidence. I'm fourteen, almost fifteen, and have never really had "flawless" skin like the rest of my friends. I started getting little whiteheads as early as eleven years old, but that's pretty much how it stayed until I turned fourteen last June. Over the summer, I st
  4. I went on the regimin for a few months and it cleared my acne for the most part. However, it dried out my skin a lot and would even make my skin look "burnt". However, I still get acne in clusters every month or so and nothing works for them. They don't dry out or naturally drain / shrink for a veryy long time. I also have a lot of moderate scarring. What types of treatments do you suggest?

    Redness From Previous Acne

Ok, So I haven't had any new breakouts for a month, and when I wash my face my skin feels smooth so I know no pimples are there right now. But my cheeks and temples are red/irritated. I am not sure if this is considered scarring or hyperpigmentation, but everytime I wash and moisturize, my face is redder. After 6 hours or so, my face is not as red and has calmed down. I am on my 2nd month of Accutane, but I have had redness for about 6 months, although this is my first month without a breakout i
  6. Help! I misused apple cider vinegar while treating an acne spot, and now I have what might possibly be a burn on my skin from it. The skin around the (now dried out) pimple is very dark, red, and somewhat raised and rough to touch. I now realize I didn't dilute the vinegar enough and left it on my skin for too long. What is the best recommended treatment for this? How do I heal the skin and reduce the redness from the burn quickly?
  7. Hi all. Even though some people on here may think the scarring that I have (shown in threads with pics I have posted) is not that bad, it is obvious that it is enough to greatly impact the way I interact with other people.... So much so, that I have tried to get SSDI (disability for those not in the states), but the case manager said that severe acne, even with documented history of needing anti-anxiety meds for more than 15 years, IS NOT a disability that qualifies!!!! WTF!!! It seems
  8. Hi everyone i used to be a long time lurker here. I haven't visited this site in maybe 4 months because my condition has improved significantly. As i have never posted before i will fill everyone in on my past experiences. From the age of 13 my acne has become worse and worse. I had cystic acne all over my face, which at most times made it extremely painful to smile. I wouldn't look people in the eye, would hate going out to dinner with my parents and would spend all nights in my room instead of
  9. Growing up i never had acne, it wasnt until mid 20's that i started to have issues. Im 28 now It cleared up a year ago with salicylic peels, micro and antibiotics, although has flared up tremendously over the last few months. It has crushed my confidence, and i feel like im turning into a different person because of it. It has totally consumed my life, sometimes spending all day looking on the internet at treatments and blogs, it completely does my head in. I wear makeup to cover it, but
  10. Accidentally made two posts. How do I delete this?
  11. Hello out there everyone! I'm just gonna jump right in. I'm 23 years old and I swear I thought I'd outgrow this acne. I started having issues with my skin when I was about 13, but back then I was able to get rid of it just by changing my diet (IE, no more sodas like 13 year olds tend to go after, and more water). Everything was calm up until my junior year of high school and my face blew up with a vengeance: painful cystic acne around my chin (it hurt to smile =/) and forehead, redness, w
  12. (sorry this is so long ><, links to all the products below) Hi, I've been dealing with my acne since the start of college. I live in the city now, which I reckon can't be good for the skin, but there's not much I can deal with lifestyle-wise. It's been three years and my skin is getting worse as time goes on. So here I am trying to piece together a new regime to follow through on and hopefully see results. As for my skin, pictures speak volumes. my forehead: tons, and i mean
  13. I've been struggling heavily with acne for about a year now. I've tried everything from EpiDuo to numerous home remedies. What hurts the most is the fact that I now think less of myself because of my acne. If there are any recommendations of what I should do, please let me know. I've been to the dermatologist and she didn't help much at all. How bad do you think it is??
  14. I'm 22 and I have suffered with acne on and off for years. About six months ago I started birth control, which did help with my cysts, not so much my scarring. I stopped picking at my face and I started using natural skin cleanser and simplifying my skin care routine without using all the chemicals. (I'm allergic to benzyl peroxide). Recently my chin and jawline has been breaking out again though! I have four large cysts on my chin which I don't know how to get rid of. Help please!
  15. *takes a deep breath* Hi everyone, I have a few photos below of my scarring that I've been suffering from for the past 16 years - since freakin' puberty!! Unfortunately, it completely changed me from an outgoing individual to someone much more shy and self-conscious. I'm so tired of all the looks and of course getting asked THAT question as to what happened to my face (mostly children of friends/etc. at random moments) - SO EMBARRASSING!! It's sad, but I've almost accepted what I
  16. What tips and advice can you guys give me to prevent scarring and make the journey more tolerable? Please, keep it short and sweet. <3 Thanks

    What Is Causing My Acne!

Hi, after reading many posts of different types and severity of acne i wanted to post my own acne story. I'm 19 and began experiencing acne at the age of 13. My acne consisted mainly of whiteheads and blackheads (nothing too serious). It was predominantly situated across my forhead and nose. After going to the doctor and being prescribed several topical treatments including; isotrexin gel, my acne persisted and began to intensify (age 16/17). My forhead literally expolded. Whenever I felt a spot
  18. So my problem is relatively well illustrated by the attached pictures, but I'll include some backstory. So I'm post Accutane (Isotretinoin) currently, I started it in October of 2015 and ended it in March of 2016... It worked extremely well, removing I'd say around 95% of my acne. Now I'm dealing with the remaining 5%, which is mild scarring and discolorations. Also I should note that I haven't had ANY breakouts in months, so these spots have lingered for awhile now. Any ideas about treatment

    Needling Basics--Help

Hello everyone, I have several scars on my face which I intend to needle. I have needled in the past with good results but they are gradual and as healing takes a long time and it is hard to go out like that, I have not been able to be consistent. I needled about 4 small areas of my face last night using an ultra fine lancet. One of the areas on my forehead is now really dark red. It bled as I was needling as well. If I go a little aggressive with the single needling, this happens but if
  20. I did a blackhead extraction myself, which i know is fucking stupid and I hate myself for doing it, because now it looks like my skin is scarring. The areas where I was the most rough was on my forehead, nose and chin, and they are now a week later still really tight, and showing signs of scabbing. When I wrinkle my skin, the dead(?) scarred(?) skin looks weird. I've tried giving the areas lots of moisture, washing it less and with the outmost care, and nothing helps. The areas keep wrinkling we
  21. hello, so I've been using the regimen on my face and body for 3 and half weeks. I know that skin peeling off is normal but I don't think that what im dealing with is normal.. I think I burned myself with BP! because the skin peeling off looks exactly like when you get burnt (you know the dark spots) here's some pictures. please tell me how to get rid of the burns without scarring because i once burned myself with a shaving cream chemical thingy and it scarred! thank youuu

    Needing some advice...

Hi everyone, Kind of nervous as this is the first time I've ever put photos on the internet of my skin. I suffered with mild breakouts in my teen years (16-18) and obvously I wasn't completely aware of acne and how horrendous it actually would be so used to pick, pop, squeeze and literally man handle them... Which has now left scarring on both my cheeks. I'm 20 now, I should add. I'm posting this for advice really. I still get breakouts from time to time but I can handle them. Qui
  23. Hi all, So I am wondering if any of you can impart your wisdom as to how to get rid of a soft, red, raised bump left over from a pimple quicker... Background: So I have clear skin now and have done for around 9 months (*finally!*). In this time frame I have only had 1 large under the skin bumps; this one gracefully planted itself slap bang in the middle of my cheek 2 weeks ago right next to a icepick scar (so it looked super attractive) after using Paula's Choice 2% BHA the night before for
