  1. Hey all, I'm very new to this and just wanted to seek some advice to an issue I've been having. I developed acne on my forehead in November 2015. After months of trying to get it in control I finally have found a product that reduced the appearance and has been slowly reducing the pimples on my face. But now I have a recurring problem, random rashes that occur on my face in weird patches. I do not put the acne treatment all over my face, just on the affected area. Below I have a picture of the
  2. So im new to acne.org. long time reader and finally decided to sign up. I'm having real troubles with my face. recently my face has became really dry and flaky. i remedied this by using the oil cleansing method which has seem to helped. my face now is somewhat red and scaly looking and i think not healthy. i have attached some pics and i was wondering if anyone would be able to suggest something. also, i have used topicals in the past including retina, duac, clinac, epiduo, and currently differe
  3. Hi. I was suffering from inflammatory acne for a while however my dermatologist prescribed me epiduo and doxycyline and I have noticed huge results within only a month. However I still have this strange scaly texture on the left side of my forehead. (Pictures show on your right) It's like a patch or cluster of slightly raised bumps. It's the same color as my skin and sometimes itchy (not really) and much more noticeable in the light. It doesn't look like acne to me plus it's not going away with
  4. I suffered with acne for over 30 years and tried every possible remedy with no results except extreme skin devastation, then developed seb derm. Again I tried lotion after potion, after diet, after treatment, with no success. Then I discovered a hand held LED light gizmo that worked wonders.............(see my other posts). Although this cleared me up like 80% or more, I still had some blocked pores, redness, flaky patches and scaly bits. Recent research led me to a cream by La Roche Posay c
  5. Hi i'm just starting my third month of accutane, and have been on 60mg per day. I have recently begun to get big rashes on all parts of my arms including the bicep, tricep, forearm, and hand areas. The are itchy and really dry, and I was wondering if there is anything I can put on them to make them go away. I put moisturizer on, which helps with the itch, but it doesn't make it go away. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  6. I noticed about a week ago my pores have been getting huge and every time i washed it little whiteheads or blackheads would stick out. So over the course of maybe 3 nights afte every shower i have picked and popped away at as many as i could. Every time i pop blackheads around my nose/inner cheek area it become very pink and swollen for about an hour or 2 but then goes down. I didn't really worry until i noticed the next day my skin near my nose and my inner cheeks were all raw-scaly,shiny,and c
  7. Which Skin Type Ages Faster?

For thousands of years, people have been obsessed with the idea of eternal youth. Most of us want to look young as long as possible, but as we get older, our skin starts to give away our age. The question is, do some skin types age faster than others? Although the research on this is preliminary, some findings suggest that dry skin might age faster than oily, acne-prone skin. In other words, there may be a...
  8. Today I am 20 years old. I Took accutane for 6 months when I was 18 & 1/2 right up to my 19th birthday For a little less than a year post accutane I had been dealing with scaly red dry skin. I wasn't taking care of my face and I let it get out of hand. I just want people to know how important it is to have a good skin care routine. Personally for me, post accutane, my skin is more sensitive now than it was before, but I don't get acne. The lack of sebum production has caused me t

  11. I have been dealing with the same awful breakout for years and I feel like I've tried everything, I'm so fed up and it's really effecting my life and self esteem. I basically have a constant cluster of deep pimples that cause daily whiteheads to form (small and yellow, green, or white) between my eyebrows and occassionally on my eyebrows. My forehead is now very bumpy as well now. The cluster is very angry, red, scaly, and hard to cover with makeup. It never completely goes away. I have hormonal
  12. Hi, I always have a problem in the winter ever since I was younger with eczema on my arms and around my mouth. Around my my arm in the joints it's no longer there and hasn't left any scarring. However my mouth is another story. Recently the British weather as many may know, has been terrible! It's really cold and has been during the half term, during that time my mouth began to get slightly irritated, a day later it split and cracked the skin and felt very tight, no moisturiser or oils woul
  13. Hi, I have an acne that is bigger than others for the pass week. The outer layer became scaly and it came off (this happend like 2 or 3 times) I've waited for it to get smaller but the size does not change and there is no puss seen on the outside. It is getting purple and I tried to pop it with a needle but nothing comes out. Is there any way I can get rid of this? It's been a whole week now
  14. Hi all! I've been a lurker on this site for many, many years and have tried lots of the suggestions and remedies from many of you, sadly to no avail. I took horrendous chickenpox 38 years ago that left my face with a fair bit of pitting and at the same time, I developed acne. From then on in, my life has been blighted, with every day being a struggle. Ok, I have tried every lotion and potion in the book, tried food elimination, herbal treatments, roaccuatane, antibiotics, you name it, I
