  1. Everytime I use salycilic acid on my face it makes me look suntanned. I did some research on the topic and read that salycilic acid can cause mild hyperpigmentation! I thought this was interesting because it clears your skin of acne and makes you look tanner at the same time, all without the risks of tanning beds. Has anyone else noticed this after using salycilic acid?
  2. Hello, do any of you tried of heard of louid de widmer acne cream? It contains salicylic acid and sulfur. My dermatologist prescibed it to me but I never used it cuz It leaves my face orange cuz the cream its tinted. But I'm trying again this cream again since yesterday. Other than that it doesnt irritate my skin so thats a big plus but I dont know if it works well on cysts and clogged pores wich is my main problem right now.
  3. In-office salicylic acid peels can cost over $500 per peel. What's even worse is multiple peels are required to achieve drastic results. Regular aspirin (acetyl-salicylic acid) is almost chemically identical to the ingredient in more expensive peels and can cost as little as $5. Here's how to make yours at home; Crush 5-10 aspirin tablets until they are a powder that resembles flour. Use a blender if you have to. Combine the aspirin powder with regular %2 salicylic acid face wash. Apply th
  4. I've seen a lot of people promoting Mandelic acid and glycolic.. what's the overall best for fading the red marks on your skin? I'm looking in to Salycilic and Hydroquinone too. Also, might add that I'm on a low 10-20mg dose of accutane.. I've already been on 2 doses to get rid of my acne which cleared my skin up completely.. but unfortunately staying on a low dose is the only way to keep my skin clear.. I also really don't want to have to deal with these ugly red marks! So I'm at a crossro
  5. Hey (: So I had inflammatory acne briefly and I've been taking antibiotics for a couple months, and they cleared my pustules. However, I've been noticing that I'm getting more small papules and whiteheads than I ever did, even before my antibiotics. I'm not exactly complaining, because at least I know they won't scar, but I'd still like to get rid of them. I have two drugstore spot treatments: 2% salyclic and 2.5% BP. Can I use those as full face daily treatments or is that a no-no? I don't real

    Still waiting

Sigh...my prescription did not come on Saturday, and I don't know if it will come today or tomorrow. Feeling pretty pissed off about it all. My skin is sooo awful right now. I've temporarily stopped with the BP as it's so drying; my clear skin is almost as red as the spotty skin. I've been re-reading my blog and have come to the conclusion that BP was probably the solution to getting my skin clear after I came off the first round of antibiotics. And it worked fairly quickly - 5 weeks is all it t
  7. Hello! I realise there's a lot of topics on this product already, but none really anwser my particular predicament. A question to people who have used the 2% BHA liquid from Paula's Choice. I don't have inflamed acne, and never did, except when I was a young teenager but it passed on it's own. However, since then I've been left with blackheads and whiteheads everywhere on my face ONLY... And my whiteheads I mean the small flesh coloured bumps, with no head, no puss in them, unless squeezed
