  1. Okay, so I've been using lactic acid peels for a few months and I use a fan brush to apply it. I recently bought a mandelic peel and a mandelic/salicylic acid peel and on the instructions for the mandelic peel it says to apply it with a q-tip. The other peel just says to apply it without specifying what to use. To me, using a little q-tip seems a bit time consuming and pointless. I've also heard people that use their hands or cotton balls/pads. But wouldn't cotton balls just absorb a lot of the
  2. Hi All I finally get it no chemical peel or lasers can fix enlarged nose pores. I did all the extreme things to control or improve my large nose pores and scars. I had done more than 10 sessions of co2 with erbium which improved the scars and texture by 25%, atropic scars still there. These pores are crazy they are simply stubborn. They have affected my self esteem big time and have been a recluse for a while now. I don’t wish this to happen to anyone. Anybody who successfully cured enlarged p
  3. Hey friends! 26 year old woman here, with mild-moderate (but SO PERSISTENT) acne. Definitely hormonally based - been working on evening that out, trust me. Am considering the regimen, but would ideally like to not use BP just 'cuz it bleaches things and blah blah blaaahhh ... I just tried mandelic acid for, like, months and MONTHS and it helped, but not enough. Is SA of any help to you? Or is there another skincare miracle you've found? Or should I just buck up and use BP and get over the
  4. I NEVER post, write or comment about anything on the web. I have been struggling with moderate acne for over 5 years. Once I hit my 30s I began to break out consistently. I didn't want to leave the house at times. I was self conscious about myself, depressed angry and ultimately hopeless. I tried EVERYTHING!!!! From over the counter to wholistic to laser. Everything except accutane. The cure was under my nose the entire 5 years and I just didnt know it. About 3 months ago I read that spreading
  5. I was reading posts about the few people who found success with Compound W on keloid scars but instead of salicyclic acid I was wondering if anyone ever just tried to dab some Benzoyl Peroxide on their keloid scars to see what would happen?
  6. I bought The Ordinary 2% Salicylic and followed the instructions by dabbing on spots. I also put the treatment on a few hard lumps under my skin on my chin. I used to get recurring boils as a teen but I cut out dairy and they stopped. So occasionally I get bumps that sometimes come to white heads; but they aren't puss filled (sorry to be graphic) like boils are. I woke up and the Salicylic acid had left a yellow film over my skin, I attempted to peel it off thinking it was just the yellow pr
  7. I want fast results to remove hyperpigmentation. I have brown marks that are acne hyperpigmentation. I still have active acne but wanted to sort as much hyperpigmentation out as I can before roaccutane as I know you can’t use peels for a long time after roaccutane. Should I get a glycolic or salicylic peel? Or some sort of lasering? Where is the best place in the London area to get a chemical peel/laser done. Does it have to be done by my actual dermatologist or can I just v
  8. Hi guys i have been using salicylic acid peel 10% salicylic acid and 15% lactic acid i have been using it on my face and body, now it has cleared alot of the spots/blemishes from my back and arms, but not so much for my face, whys this? and also would like to know if this has worked for anyone else that may have tried it? i have just purchased the 20% salicylic acid 20% lactic acid peel to use on my arms and back in hope that it will clear my bacne up faster... Not sure if i will use it for
  9. A couple weeks ago I gave myself a glycolic peel and my face was red for a couple days and peeling. I felt it wasn't the right peel for me so I gave myself a salicylic peel and my face wasn't peeling or red as I didnt feel it really do anything. I know salicylic peels are for people who are more acne prone which my skin is. I'm not as worried about acne as my skin has gotten a heck of a lot better and mostly clear. The only thing that I am concerned about now are hyperpigmentation. About five ye
  10. Hey all, I am Thomas Rio, I have had acne since I was about 14. I am now 24. I have managed it many different ways, and have seen very clear skin at times for a few months at a time. About six months was the longest stint I have been clear. I have the type of skin where if I did absolutely nothing, including not washing my face, I would probably end up with over 100 pimples at a time, maybe more. Although by now I have sort of lost the acne growth everywhere but my forehead. However, my up
  11. I started using a exfoliating salicylic and glycolic face mask/scrub/cleanser about a week to almost 10 days ago.. and I love how its making the areas of my face that don't have a lot of clogged pores... but the areas that do are breaking out a lot.. I mean common sense tells me that I need to give this product ATLEAST a month before if I can tell that its working or not, and breaking out in only areas that normally would have blackheads/whiteheads seems to be a pretty good sign... What do you g

  13. Yo guys, first post here so please forgive me if I'm not posting in the right place or whatever. Not going to bore you with my acne story because you're on this site to find solutions, not my life story. Straight to the point I don't consider my acne severe enough to start the Acne.org regimen so I am looking at building my own. Just wondering if I choose to use a face wash with 2% Salicylic acid, would it still be beneficial to also use a leave on salicylic exfoliator/toner/spot treatment o

    Salicylic Acid 20% Peel (Male)(Video)

Sorry if I pronounced medical terms incorrectly in my video Just wanted to share my experience with acne.org. I have used acne.org regimen in the past (2 years ago) and it did work for my face. but the whole regimen took to much out of my time and I felt like my life started evolving around it which I hated. My acne type is mostly blackheads. I get ridiculous amount of blackheads all over my face, and very deep. They sometimes take so long to penetrate the skin which leaves my skin lo
  16. Well happy Thursday all! Soooooo I am starting this topic because I would love to get input, info and share tips and progess using Chemical peels for pore degunking, purging, calming, PIH, scars, and redness. I am a newbie to peels. I literally just started a few weeks ago after desparately realizing my closed comedones from my Spironolactone IB were not going to hit the road on their own without some SERIOUS help. Basically I started hormone treatment in january, had a crazy breakout of
  17. I've been a user of Acne.org's products, resources, and information for about three years now. Never been clearer! I've been fine-tuning my personal regimen to tailor it to my specific needs, all while keeping Dan's universal regimen as a base. It has worked flawlessly. However, even though some of us are 99-100% clear, there still are a few problematic pimples that squeeze themselves in every once in a while. I've been using Clean & Clear and Neutrogena's Spot Treatments for just under a y
  18. Hi everybody! I have started using 5% salicylic acid last week to clean up some closed comedones and since then have gotten 5 (five!!!) deep inflammations near my mouth. They are very deep red bumps that hurt a lot and are not likely to come to a head. I have not changed my regimen, the except that I have missed 2-3 days of taking Candex, anti-candida supplement. So far used ice and obscene amounts of 5% BP + antibiotic and managed to dissolve one. Hope it is not too late for the other.

    Salicylic Treatment

I'm a teenager and have suffered from acne since the age of 13. I'm 15 now and since I began to take vitamin A,E,D, and Zinc for the past 2 weeks my acne has decreased nicely. However, I've switched to just a normal cleanser and it seems the clearing process is taking forever. Should I go back to my cleanser with salicylic acid in it? I know this can be bad but just temporarily to help aid in clearing my pimples? It's Noxzema foaming cleanser with 2.0% salicylic acid. By the way, the vitamins we
  20. Hi, I'm new to the forum and looking for advice I have several flesh colored bumps, which I believe are clogged pores, on my T-zone and cheeks. I recently started applying a 12% salicylic acid gel and have noticed that it is EXTREMELY OILY. It's unlike anything I've applied before and I've mostly applied everything including retinoids, adapalene and clindamycin. The gel itself contains oil as is evident while applying. It does burn a little, which is good I guess. But after 10 minutes my fac
  21. Hello all! First post, long time reader. Quick summary of my acne life: Male. Started at 10, I'm now 19 almost 20. Moderate acne that worsened with age. Combination skin. Spots occur ANYWHERE on my face. No "T-Zone" or jaw line stuff... just random anywhere. At 17, back acne started. 18 very mild chest acne started. Depressing my whole life and leading to many insecurity issues. As a result, about a year ago I became "obsessed" with having perfect skin. I was on camera everyday and u
