  1. hellooo, I finally found the routine that helped me clear my cystic acne (on my cheeks) and I just wanted to share it with those who has tried everything (like me) but nothing seems to work and believes that Accutane might be their last resort. NOTE: this is what worked for ME, thus, it may not work for some people. anyway, the key to this routine is diet. - no milk (this includes any kind of milk eg soymilk, almond milk), well, occasionally, I would have food that consists of milk, j
  2. I finally feel I am in a place comfortable with my skin, take what you wish and what’s helpful for you. to clarify, ( I may get one pimple a month?) I’ll cut straight to what helped me, I have very dry skin and then sometimes it’s very oily. St Ives Blemish control (wash face once a day at night) do NOT put a lot on your face. If your face feels dry afterwards, you have put on way to much. my moisturizer is Aloe Vera, (this is when I really experienced a huge difference in my skin. My gue
  3. Hello, I have been using my BenzePro emollient foam (BP 5.3%) on my face every night to treat my mild adult acne since February, and it has been working very well. However, the last 4 nights I’ve been away from home and have come home late and have accidentally skipped my nightly treatment each time. On the box of the product, it says to take the missed dose as soon as you remember. My skin has only developed one pimple in the last 4 days, but I am worried that when I use it again my skin
  4. My acne is healed. I healed my skin with a combination of: Diet - I do not eat gluten, I avoid dairy products, lots of fruits and vegetables. I still enjoy my food and eat out on occasion. A few months of the caveman regimen (which allowed me to discover that my skin is extremely DRY and SENSITIVE not oily.) Stopping my skin picking habit (took a long time but I no longer touch my face or pick my skin.) The first and most important rule of my current acne routine is that it
  5. After 4 months of trying to battle my persistent mild acne with no success, I went to the dermatologist. My prescription is BenzePro emollient foam (5.3%) and 0.1% Adapelene gel. I was advised to use BenzePro in the morning and Adapelene at night. I currently do not have much of a skincare routine. I wash my face at night with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and moisturize with Clinique Dramatically Different lotion (which I haven't been to impressed by lately). I am wondering what products, su
  6. My mother got mad at me because she claims that I am bleaching my skin and she is afraid that I am going to damage my skin. She got so mad that she told my Aunt and my Aunt had to talk to me about skin bleaching and she seemed very disappointed and I felt really embarrassed. I am 21 and I don't understand why she is doing this to me? I don't consider myself bleaching my skin but I want my skin to look less dull without foundation and I don't want any dark marks on my face. This is my skincare
  7. Hi all, I'm having the worst breakout of my entire life and I'm on my second month of Accutane. Ive never had cystic acne in my life and I'm starting to get it. It's so bad that its painful to smile or move any part of my face really. I don't see my dermatologist for another week or so. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle a breakout during Accutane? I've just been making sure to wash all my makeup off, gently cleanse and use a lot of Cetaphil lotion on my face. Do I just have to wait
  8. Last few weeks I've been breaking out in a single red zit on my chin. It went away a couple of days ago but it seems a new one sprang up in its place. It's the only place right now that I'm breaking out. I can't tell if it's hormonal, inflammatory, whatever. But it bugs me. This is what I have been doing: Wash face w/ Anatomicals face wash and silicon scrubber Tone with Thayers/Water/ACV mixture, or colloidial silver, or both moisturize as needed with EV coconut oil Man this thing is
  9. Hey guys, help me out here. I've been in the regimen for 3 weeks now. I started last June 16. Having a broken time of work here in Saudi (8/9AM-12NN then 4-8/9PM), I have to do some cleansing in between time. I wake at 7/8AM for 9AM-12NN shift then I sleep from 1:30-3PM for 4-9PM shift. I'll show you how I do my routine so you can have an idea and correct me if I'm doing something wrong. This is my routine: >Week 1 (JUNE 15 - 21) 12MN: cleanser, less than half a
  10. I have been washing my face twice a day. However, I'm starting to think it may be too drying. I have sensitive dry skin with a somewhat oily nose (or maybe it's just the way the light reflects off it) and I often have flaking skin on my nose and chin. Does anyone have any experience with only washing their face at night? Thanks.
  11. Hi guys! So I live in the dorms on my college campus, and Im constantly changing my routine so my roommate doesnt see my skin! I sleep with my blanket covering my skin, always have concealer on, wait in bed till she leaves the room to wash my face, put my makeup on in the shower stall instead of my room! anybody else do anything crazy like me?! also, I cancel plans with my bf when my face is bad, which is all the time. He never asks cause I have crazy excuses but Im getting tired of th
  12. Hello! I was hoping to get some ideas from others routines, so if you would be so kind as to tell me what you do in the AM and PM as far as skincare, that would be great. (: Morning: Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types Neutrogena moisture for combo skin Night: Neutrogena RapidClear oil eliminating cleanser (to remove makeup) Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types (to cleanse after makeup removal) Equate BP 2.5% treatment AcneFree Terminator 5% BP (for spot treatment on active blemishe
  13. Personally, my skin is so oily that it has quite the buildup after only an hour after blotting/washing. I usually make frequent trips to the bathroom to blot with toilet paper or toilet seat covers (these work best), because toilet paper can suck moisture from your face and leave it flaky. I tell people I drink a lot of water if they notice the amount of times I'm visiting the bathroom. I also keep a safety blotter in my back pocket in case I'm out somewhere and need to blot but can't get to
  14. Hey all, just wanted your opinion on how I could improve my daily skin care routine. AM: - Wash face with Neutrogena Deep Clean Acne Foaming Wash - Apply Neutrogena 2% BP Toner - Apply non comedogenic lotion PM: - Wash face with Neutrogena Deep Clean Acne Foaming Wash - Apply Neutrogena 2% BP Toner - Sometimes apply Indian Healing Clay mask with ACV Pretty basic routine I know. Any additions/subtractions would be very helpful!
  15. Hi guys I am interested in hearing about everyone else's skin care routines! I thought we could all write our routines here and give eachother tips & tricks etc. I've made a video about mine which you can watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL5kANUd75E Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of post-acne hyper pigmentation? That's one thing I need help with Thanks!
  16. Hello everyone! I'm new here but I've read several logs posted by other people and have found them to be very motivational and kind so I decided to start my own. HISTORY I'm a 17 year old female who has been the victim of acne since about 11 or 12. My face mainly breaks out in pimples around my hairline and chin area. I also get skin coloured bumpy comedones all over my forehead, pin sized blackheads on my nose, and something that appear to be extremely tiny whiteheads all over my chin whic
  17. I think I finally found a way to reduce my very stubborn hormonal acne. I am 30 and have been struggling with hormonal acne for as long as I can remember. I usually get them around my mouth and chin, and I get very oily skin in that area. I usually start breaking out at around 2 weeks before my period. Sometimes they get as high as my cheeks and some really hurt (Even recently I started getting cystic acne along my jawline). Unfortunately I have a very bad habit of picking at them especially whe
  18. Can you guys tell me what this is? Thanks for helping. My Routine is basically the acne.org routine but without the benzoyl peroxide instead, I use duac gel. And atm, no moisturizer.
  19. Hallo , I'm 16 years old ex acne suferer from Israel (so pleaze forgive me if I will have some English mistakes) Actually I steal have acne - but whey less than I had couple months before .. I'm doing an homeopatical treatment with an homeopatical doctor , and it seems to help me a lot.. beside that I dont take any drags and medical treatments .. 20. I'm an Asian 18 yo female with oily/combination skin (one or both of those, not sure actually). My biggest concerns right now are hyperpigmentation and enlarged pores/blackheads (on the nose and t-zone area to either side of the nose). These are the two skin issues I find to be the most difficult to solve. I have a nasty habit of squeezing out my blackheads/pores because they annoy me so much and there doesn't seem to be any other effective methods for getting rid of them. Below is my curre
  21. Hi friends! I need your help, I'm at a loss as to what to do with my skin right now. Please look at the enclosed pictures of my cheeks and help diagnose my acne and give me advice as to how to cure it. Also does it look hormonal to you? Very red, inflamed and painful!! Looks even worse in person

  23. Hello! :> I just recently found this community, and I'm so glad I did. I'd like to have other people who I can relate to and who I can encourage and be encouraged with. Anyways, I'm making this post to keep track of my Differin product usage, and how it affects my skin. I've heard good things about it, and I'd like to see a post on how it affects people with my skin type (oily, not sensitive) over the long run. I'll also be adding in the rest of my daily skin regime/water intake. I'll m
  24. At night time, before I go to bed , I put on the AHA cream. I read something about how your pillowcase may cause you to break out. Since I have the AHA cream on, I tend to sleep on my back because I don't want to smudge my pillow with it. When I wake up, my face in on the pillowcase ! Does it really affect your acne ? Or Im I just being over dramatic ?
