  1. hellooo, I finally found the routine that helped me clear my cystic acne (on my cheeks) and I just wanted to share it with those who has tried everything (like me) but nothing seems to work and believes that Accutane might be their last resort. NOTE: this is what worked for ME, thus, it may not work for some people. anyway, the key to this routine is diet. - no milk (this includes any kind of milk eg soymilk, almond milk), well, occasionally, I would have food that consists of milk, j
  2. I finally feel I am in a place comfortable with my skin, take what you wish and what’s helpful for you. to clarify, ( I may get one pimple a month?) I’ll cut straight to what helped me, I have very dry skin and then sometimes it’s very oily. St Ives Blemish control (wash face once a day at night) do NOT put a lot on your face. If your face feels dry afterwards, you have put on way to much. my moisturizer is Aloe Vera, (this is when I really experienced a huge difference in my skin. My gue
  3. Hello, I have been using my BenzePro emollient foam (BP 5.3%) on my face every night to treat my mild adult acne since February, and it has been working very well. However, the last 4 nights I’ve been away from home and have come home late and have accidentally skipped my nightly treatment each time. On the box of the product, it says to take the missed dose as soon as you remember. My skin has only developed one pimple in the last 4 days, but I am worried that when I use it again my skin
  4. Hey all, just wanted your opinion on how I could improve my daily skin care routine. AM: - Wash face with Neutrogena Deep Clean Acne Foaming Wash - Apply Neutrogena 2% BP Toner - Apply non comedogenic lotion PM: - Wash face with Neutrogena Deep Clean Acne Foaming Wash - Apply Neutrogena 2% BP Toner - Sometimes apply Indian Healing Clay mask with ACV Pretty basic routine I know. Any additions/subtractions would be very helpful!
  5. My acne is healed. I healed my skin with a combination of: Diet - I do not eat gluten, I avoid dairy products, lots of fruits and vegetables. I still enjoy my food and eat out on occasion. A few months of the caveman regimen (which allowed me to discover that my skin is extremely DRY and SENSITIVE not oily.) Stopping my skin picking habit (took a long time but I no longer touch my face or pick my skin.) The first and most important rule of my current acne routine is that it
  6. After 4 months of trying to battle my persistent mild acne with no success, I went to the dermatologist. My prescription is BenzePro emollient foam (5.3%) and 0.1% Adapelene gel. I was advised to use BenzePro in the morning and Adapelene at night. I currently do not have much of a skincare routine. I wash my face at night with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and moisturize with Clinique Dramatically Different lotion (which I haven't been to impressed by lately). I am wondering what products, su
  7. Can you guys tell me what this is? Thanks for helping. My Routine is basically the acne.org routine but without the benzoyl peroxide instead, I use duac gel. And atm, no moisturizer.
  8. How important is toner? should I implement it into my routine with the cleanser, bp, and aha
  9. My mother got mad at me because she claims that I am bleaching my skin and she is afraid that I am going to damage my skin. She got so mad that she told my Aunt and my Aunt had to talk to me about skin bleaching and she seemed very disappointed and I felt really embarrassed. I am 21 and I don't understand why she is doing this to me? I don't consider myself bleaching my skin but I want my skin to look less dull without foundation and I don't want any dark marks on my face. This is my skincare
  10. Hi all, I'm having the worst breakout of my entire life and I'm on my second month of Accutane. Ive never had cystic acne in my life and I'm starting to get it. It's so bad that its painful to smile or move any part of my face really. I don't see my dermatologist for another week or so. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle a breakout during Accutane? I've just been making sure to wash all my makeup off, gently cleanse and use a lot of Cetaphil lotion on my face. Do I just have to wait
  11. Hello! :> I just recently found this community, and I'm so glad I did. I'd like to have other people who I can relate to and who I can encourage and be encouraged with. Anyways, I'm making this post to keep track of my Differin product usage, and how it affects my skin. I've heard good things about it, and I'd like to see a post on how it affects people with my skin type (oily, not sensitive) over the long run. I'll also be adding in the rest of my daily skin regime/water intake. I'll m
  12. Goal: To tighten skin, remove acne dark spots, prevent future breakouts, and remove acne scars. Skin type: Sensitive and oily (usually) Products: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream (moisturizer) Raw Organic AppleCider Vinegar mixed with spring water (1 Part water mixed with 1 part vinegar) 'THAYERS' Witch Hazel Alcohol-free toner "Aztec Secret" Indian healing Clay Mario Badescu drying lotion Products I am considering purchasing in the
  13. At night time, before I go to bed , I put on the AHA cream. I read something about how your pillowcase may cause you to break out. Since I have the AHA cream on, I tend to sleep on my back because I don't want to smudge my pillow with it. When I wake up, my face in on the pillowcase ! Does it really affect your acne ? Or Im I just being over dramatic ?
  14. I think I finally found a way to reduce my very stubborn hormonal acne. I am 30 and have been struggling with hormonal acne for as long as I can remember. I usually get them around my mouth and chin, and I get very oily skin in that area. I usually start breaking out at around 2 weeks before my period. Sometimes they get as high as my cheeks and some really hurt (Even recently I started getting cystic acne along my jawline). Unfortunately I have a very bad habit of picking at them especially whe
  15. Personally, my skin is so oily that it has quite the buildup after only an hour after blotting/washing. I usually make frequent trips to the bathroom to blot with toilet paper or toilet seat covers (these work best), because toilet paper can suck moisture from your face and leave it flaky. I tell people I drink a lot of water if they notice the amount of times I'm visiting the bathroom. I also keep a safety blotter in my back pocket in case I'm out somewhere and need to blot but can't get to
  16. Hi friends! I need your help, I'm at a loss as to what to do with my skin right now. Please look at the enclosed pictures of my cheeks and help diagnose my acne and give me advice as to how to cure it. Also does it look hormonal to you? Very red, inflamed and painful!! Looks even worse in person
  17. Hi guys! So I've had acne since I was like 13. I'm 16 now, and last summer my skin was really clear! Weird lighting but it was clear except for a few VERY small scars that I didn't mind or really notice. This was the case pretty much throughout the summer, I even went camping and only suffered one zit that went away normally! I was so happy. The school started back up and I started to break out very gradually until now, this summer, where I'm basically back to square 1. I have pretty much fo
  18. About me: I had horrible hormonal acne around my chin and up my cheeks- was a mixture of deep, blind, cystic pimples and these tiny little "clogged pore" colourless clusters of pimples everywhere. I didn't want to leave the house for months because my skin was so bad and being a model and actress I wasn't able to control the makeup products being put on my skin and it was crucial to my job to have nice skin! Disaster. Anyway, I created my own routine based around skin care and health on my que
  19. Hey everyone! I am 19 years old and a few weeks ago, my dermatologist prescribed me Retin-A Micro 0.08% gel...I wanted to know what I was getting myself into before I started it so I read about 100 different reviews about people's experiences. I was TERRIFIED. The main things that stuck out to me in every review were 1) dry skin all the time 2) an awful initial breakout and 3) no makeup! I decided to give it a chance anyway, so I figured I would post updates of my experience and any tips I h
  20. Hello! I realise there's a lot of topics on this product already, but none really anwser my particular predicament. A question to people who have used the 2% BHA liquid from Paula's Choice. I don't have inflamed acne, and never did, except when I was a young teenager but it passed on it's own. However, since then I've been left with blackheads and whiteheads everywhere on my face ONLY... And my whiteheads I mean the small flesh coloured bumps, with no head, no puss in them, unless squeezed
  21. My skin is not perfect, but the improvement is amazing. My skin is smooth to the touch now. I have mainly hyperpigmentation and some little unnoticeable clogged pores. When I stick to my current routine, I have no pimples. When I stray or get lazy with my skincare, the acne comes back. Overall, I would say I have had success in treating my acne. My skin type: normal-dry, sensitive, scar prone, hyperpigmentation prone acne prone, light olive complexion. This article is mo
  22. So 2 months ago I posted this http://www.acne.org/messageboard/topic/352179-painfulirritating-arm-pimples/ Since then I have diagnosed with Acne Dysmorphia by my psychologist hence sounding very dramatic in that post haha. Everyone tells me that my body acne is fine and should not effect me in any way unless I let it. However I constantly feel like I have no idea what I'm doing in regards to treatments and washing in which I have changed my routine MANY times over 2 years. If I start feeling
  23. Hallo , I'm 16 years old ex acne suferer from Israel (so pleaze forgive me if I will have some English mistakes) Actually I steal have acne - but whey less than I had couple months before .. I'm doing an homeopatical treatment with an homeopatical doctor , and it seems to help me a lot.. beside that I dont take any drags and medical treatments .. I understood that acne skin care routine should be gentle with alot of other considerations like oily skin(I have) and alcohol or paraben free prod
  24. 19 years old and just finished my freshman year of college. Throughout freshman year, I had virtually no acne. During finals, I was pretty stressed and my acne returned. But even when summer break started (early May) and I returned home several states away, my acne continued to get worse. Now in July, I still have pretty bad acne. What gives? If it matters, like 90% of the acne is around my jawline. I've also been on a routine for 3 weeks to no avail: Morning: Moisturizer lotion, then s
