  1. After 4 months of trying to battle my persistent mild acne with no success, I went to the dermatologist. My prescription is BenzePro emollient foam (5.3%) and 0.1% Adapelene gel. I was advised to use BenzePro in the morning and Adapelene at night. I currently do not have much of a skincare routine. I wash my face at night with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and moisturize with Clinique Dramatically Different lotion (which I haven't been to impressed by lately). I am wondering what products, su
  2. My mother got mad at me because she claims that I am bleaching my skin and she is afraid that I am going to damage my skin. She got so mad that she told my Aunt and my Aunt had to talk to me about skin bleaching and she seemed very disappointed and I felt really embarrassed. I am 21 and I don't understand why she is doing this to me? I don't consider myself bleaching my skin but I want my skin to look less dull without foundation and I don't want any dark marks on my face. This is my skincare
  3. Hey guys, help me out here. I've been in the regimen for 3 weeks now. I started last June 16. Having a broken time of work here in Saudi (8/9AM-12NN then 4-8/9PM), I have to do some cleansing in between time. I wake at 7/8AM for 9AM-12NN shift then I sleep from 1:30-3PM for 4-9PM shift. I'll show you how I do my routine so you can have an idea and correct me if I'm doing something wrong. This is my routine: >Week 1 (JUNE 15 - 21) 12MN: cleanser, less than half a
  4. Hello! I was hoping to get some ideas from others routines, so if you would be so kind as to tell me what you do in the AM and PM as far as skincare, that would be great. (: Morning: Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types Neutrogena moisture for combo skin Night: Neutrogena RapidClear oil eliminating cleanser (to remove makeup) Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types (to cleanse after makeup removal) Equate BP 2.5% treatment AcneFree Terminator 5% BP (for spot treatment on active blemishe
  5. I have been washing my face twice a day. However, I'm starting to think it may be too drying. I have sensitive dry skin with a somewhat oily nose (or maybe it's just the way the light reflects off it) and I often have flaking skin on my nose and chin. Does anyone have any experience with only washing their face at night? Thanks.
  6. Hi all, I'm having the worst breakout of my entire life and I'm on my second month of Accutane. Ive never had cystic acne in my life and I'm starting to get it. It's so bad that its painful to smile or move any part of my face really. I don't see my dermatologist for another week or so. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle a breakout during Accutane? I've just been making sure to wash all my makeup off, gently cleanse and use a lot of Cetaphil lotion on my face. Do I just have to wait

    Day Two: Skincare

Day Two of my skincare routine: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (morning and night) Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid toner (morning and night) Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (morning and night, depending on daytime schedule) I love this gentle skin cleanser guys. if you've ever tried high-end cleansing milks, this is highly comparable. So as an update from yesterday, my skin is feeling so much less tight and the peeling seems to be almost gone completely (after a whole week). I washe

Day 21 - Skin Getting Better

Helo! Can't believe I have been following the regimen for 3 weeks already (booyeah)! After all the redness, flaking and itchy skin, I have finally passed that stage already. My skin is no longer red but as compared to my neck, it is still a bit darker. But yea most of the active acne, I can say, are 95% gone from my face There are still acne scars caused by previous acne in some part of my cheeks. But as for the forehead and nose area are pretty much cleared. My current skin routine: -

    Day Seven!

*Sigh* As my first week passes looking back I don't know how well it really went. When I'm focused and on track I feel great and do great, but it's hard when things start to get in the way. Between swimming, and having company over I started to get tired andwould quickly wash before jumping ino bed. Followed by me sleeping until noon and rushing to wash and start my day. This made the quality of my washing awful, I didn't give my skin a chance to absorb what I was putting on it before piling on
  10. Last few weeks I've been breaking out in a single red zit on my chin. It went away a couple of days ago but it seems a new one sprang up in its place. It's the only place right now that I'm breaking out. I can't tell if it's hormonal, inflammatory, whatever. But it bugs me. This is what I have been doing: Wash face w/ Anatomicals face wash and silicon scrubber Tone with Thayers/Water/ACV mixture, or colloidial silver, or both moisturize as needed with EV coconut oil Man this thing is
  11. To start off, I am going to try and start posting once a month at least, hopefully, more often than that. As for the update on my skin, it hasn't been the best few days. I think that is because I have run out of acidophilus that I pair with spiro, and my skin is not liking that. I forgot to call in the refill before the weekend. As a result of that, I have a few new spots on my cheek that are honestly really bothering me. I can't feel them, but my skin was looking good before this. It might also
  12. Here ya go! Now back to True Detective...
  13. hellooo, I finally found the routine that helped me clear my cystic acne (on my cheeks) and I just wanted to share it with those who has tried everything (like me) but nothing seems to work and believes that Accutane might be their last resort. NOTE: this is what worked for ME, thus, it may not work for some people. anyway, the key to this routine is diet. - no milk (this includes any kind of milk eg soymilk, almond milk), well, occasionally, I would have food that consists of milk, j
  14. Hello, I have been using my BenzePro emollient foam (BP 5.3%) on my face every night to treat my mild adult acne since February, and it has been working very well. However, the last 4 nights I’ve been away from home and have come home late and have accidentally skipped my nightly treatment each time. On the box of the product, it says to take the missed dose as soon as you remember. My skin has only developed one pimple in the last 4 days, but I am worried that when I use it again my skin
  15. Hi guys! So I live in the dorms on my college campus, and Im constantly changing my routine so my roommate doesnt see my skin! I sleep with my blanket covering my skin, always have concealer on, wait in bed till she leaves the room to wash my face, put my makeup on in the shower stall instead of my room! anybody else do anything crazy like me?! also, I cancel plans with my bf when my face is bad, which is all the time. He never asks cause I have crazy excuses but Im getting tired of th
  16. I finally feel I am in a place comfortable with my skin, take what you wish and what’s helpful for you. to clarify, ( I may get one pimple a month?) I’ll cut straight to what helped me, I have very dry skin and then sometimes it’s very oily. St Ives Blemish control (wash face once a day at night) do NOT put a lot on your face. If your face feels dry afterwards, you have put on way to much. my moisturizer is Aloe Vera, (this is when I really experienced a huge difference in my skin. My gue
  17. My acne is healed. I healed my skin with a combination of: Diet - I do not eat gluten, I avoid dairy products, lots of fruits and vegetables. I still enjoy my food and eat out on occasion. A few months of the caveman regimen (which allowed me to discover that my skin is extremely DRY and SENSITIVE not oily.) Stopping my skin picking habit (took a long time but I no longer touch my face or pick my skin.) The first and most important rule of my current acne routine is that it
  18. Hello everyone! I'm new here but I've read several logs posted by other people and have found them to be very motivational and kind so I decided to start my own. HISTORY I'm a 17 year old female who has been the victim of acne since about 11 or 12. My face mainly breaks out in pimples around my hairline and chin area. I also get skin coloured bumpy comedones all over my forehead, pin sized blackheads on my nose, and something that appear to be extremely tiny whiteheads all over my chin whic

    My Skincare Routine

I thought I would share my routine that I have been using for the past week, since I've started Roaccutane. I have never had a proper skincare routine and only used Silcock's Base as a moisturiser because I was afraid to try different products on my skin because of my acne and eczema. From left; 1)I use the La Roche-Posay Effaclar wash to remove my makeup. I rub it all over my face and it forms a lather and I wash my face with a cotton pad until all my make up is removed (it takes two
  21. As evidenced in my last post, I’ve smeared a lot of crap on my face. But, what do I use now? And do I like it? CURRENT ROUTINE: AM: 1. I wake up, pissed off because I haven’t figured out a way to safely inject coffee into my blood stream. 2. Shuffle to bathroom. Shuffle to closet. Shuffle to dresser. Forget what I was doing. Groan. 3. Wash with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Okay, so let’s be honest. I bought the knockoff Wal-Mart Equate Skin C
  22. Hey all, just wanted your opinion on how I could improve my daily skin care routine. AM: - Wash face with Neutrogena Deep Clean Acne Foaming Wash - Apply Neutrogena 2% BP Toner - Apply non comedogenic lotion PM: - Wash face with Neutrogena Deep Clean Acne Foaming Wash - Apply Neutrogena 2% BP Toner - Sometimes apply Indian Healing Clay mask with ACV Pretty basic routine I know. Any additions/subtractions would be very helpful!
  23. Personally, my skin is so oily that it has quite the buildup after only an hour after blotting/washing. I usually make frequent trips to the bathroom to blot with toilet paper or toilet seat covers (these work best), because toilet paper can suck moisture from your face and leave it flaky. I tell people I drink a lot of water if they notice the amount of times I'm visiting the bathroom. I also keep a safety blotter in my back pocket in case I'm out somewhere and need to blot but can't get to
