  1. Hey everyone- I still have a while to go before I can even start treating my scars, as I am currently on my final month of accutane. It is just really disappointing to suddenly have a face full of scars after perfect skin my whole life. Most of my scars are rolling and create huge dents in my skin. It is super discouraging. I'm actually seeing a psychiatrist. I have researched SOOOO much, and seen actual results from real studies and real people. But still, it just seems impossible that I
  2. Hello! I have quite a few scars and would like some help on how to deal with them! I have 2 saucer-shaped scars, 2 shallow but still noticeable rolling scars, and a few icepick scars. One of my ice pick scars creates a big dimple in my skin and is inside of a rolling scar. Would TCA peels be able to help me over a long time? Or do I need different intervention for best improvement? thank you! I have outlined the rolling scars in green, and posted 4 photos! The scars aren't too deep and are most
  3. So I am 18 and i still have some active acne but i am wondering if the marks on my face are indented scars or just pigmentation. I started useing differin 5 weeks ago for the acne, will that combat these marks, and if they are scars will differin even them out?
  4. What should I do??? Is my life ruined???? Is there anyway I can have the scars go away???
  5. This thread will go thru my journey as I get my scar treatment. I plan on getting mixto with subcision with dr David rahimi. I am quite young only 18 so I figured why not get my treatment when my scars and I are young. Any my questions you have I will answer. I will post pictures of my scars once most people join in on the thread. But right now my scars are mild not super mild but not yet moderate more in the middle. I have mostly box car scars with a couple ice pick and about one your two
  6. I highly doubt they would. I've never seen it before. Girls would pick an obese man over a guy with acne and scars and I don't mean a pimple or two but an entire face marred in acne and deeply inflamed. I'm about to be 21 and never kissed a girl because of the way I look. I know that's the reason. I slowing accepting the fact that I'm going to have to see a prostitute sometime.
  7. Check out the photos of my current acne scarring. Would needling result in an effective (and cost effective) improvement in my scars? I have done some research on derma rolling, the DermaPen and the new e-DermaStamp (from the original derma roller company). I am leaning towards booking an appointment for an e-dermastamp treatment because I have read several articles about DermaPen and how it can cause micro-tearing. What are your thoughts on this? My story: I had severe acne which was cured
  8. plz try to read it ... it will take just 5 minutes ,or if u dont have time see my pics and if u know anything i can do about them please let me know ,, i have to edit my pics to hdr so as to make my scars visible as in my camera my scars doesnt look that bad but in iphone(i checked in a mall) they look terrible as i phones camera is quite good. hello everyone, i never had severe acne ,, just few months before i had like many bumps on my left cheek and they left like lot of red and brown mark
  9. The pictures below are the result of the first dermapen treatment Hi everyone, I have been wondering around this site and on youtube for the past few years trying to find out how to get rid of my rolling and boxcar scars on my cheeks. I was an inch away from having a CO2 laser done but I my mind kept telling me to try the dermaroller first due to how expensive it was I made a pledge to myself that once I find out something that works I will give back that knowledge. After sev
  10. Hey, So I have been thinking lately about Vitamin E and other anti inflammatory oils and what not. According to this study (which I am sure many have read) vitamin e inhibits collagen production: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1355132/ As far as I understand this is because it is an anti inflammatory and the inflammatory phase is a part of the healing process. So my question is why is it “okay” or even a good idea to use emu oil or something similar in place of Vitamin E o
  11. I live in Massachusetts. I have had scars for years, I am in my early 20s. These scars are severe and can be seen several feet away. I am a woman if this helps paint the picture. I am so insecure about this. I feel like no one could ever love me or find me attractive. I don’t want anyone looking at me, even my boyfriend. I was on accutane and ended last August so I know I have to wait till then. I have a lot of boxcar scars, some are shallower than others, but overall they’re very deep. I have a
  12. Hello! I started getting acne when I was around 10 years old. It got pretty severe and then began to clear up when I turned 17. Now at age 25 I have clear skin but am plagued with acne scars. I have been going to a dermatologist for a year now. I receive chemical peels and microdermabrasion every two weeks (alternating). The derm insists that I will see results if I stick with it long enough. My skin looks a lot better as far as my pore size and coloring, but the texture is still awful. Th
  13. Hey, this site is looking to be my only hope for some influential guidance through endless scar treatments. I have some money saved up though and I'm thinking about buying a laser treatment(s) for myself. I'm 18 and I have rolling scars on my cheeks but mostly boxcar scars. I want to know which laser treatment is good and effective but one that won't leave me with burn marks.. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on lasers in the past and I've actually seen burn marks on people who've done the t
  14. Hi, I've been reading a lot of threads on here and looked at the FAQ but I'm unsure what my best options are. Ive been dealing with acne for 3 years now and I hope to limit the amount of damage that it will do to my skin including the scarring, which I have to admit is maybe also due to a habit of picking at my scars. I'm aware that my scarring might not be as severe as other cases and my own perception (damn you unflattering bathroom lighting) is subjective and fluctuates quite a bit. The
  15. Hey, I was just wondering what can be done to improve the appearance of scars during the "post-'tane phase"? I have been off of Accutane for almost five months now and I am wondering if there is anything that I can do to help my scars. I know that people say to wait from 6 months to a year or so before trying invasive procedures. Is there anything that I can do right now? The only thing that I am currently doing is using Retin-A micro gel 0.01%. Thanks in advance.
  16. Recent update! December 21. Okay so here is a photobucket link of some recent pictures of my face. Please take note that this is about five months post Accutane. I took the photos in a few different types of lighting. I tried to use the harshest lighting possible. Here is the link: http://s256.photobuc...er%2021%202011/ Note that a few of the pictures are of my face "stretched" when it is stretched most of the scars go away. . . . Please let me know what you think . . . I am
  17. Is there any hope for my face, any way I could get my laugh lines fixed?
  18. I was thinking on getting some chemical peel or laser treatment done but they all seem to be very expensive so I am going to resort to more natural methods of improving my skins overall appearance. I am 6 months post-accutane and I have a spattering of mild to moderate rolling scars and some residual redness and darker spots (mostly on the scars themselves). My overall skin texture and skin tone is quite blotchy and doesn't look very healthy. Also, given I was in the midst of my accutane cours
  19. I am a long-term sufferer of acne, not always severe but definitely have gone through a quite a few cycles of cystic acne breakouts that ranged from moderate to severe in my lifetime. I've had acne for over 1.5 decades now, and still have an issue with breakouts. Over the years though, I've noticed the TEXTURE of my skin change so much due to all the damage. Can someone critique these photos and tell me what exact type of scarring I have - or whether it's a mix of scarring with enlarged pores or
  20. What's the best skin regime for people with depressed acne scars on their face? I have terribly deep scars (boxcar and icepick) so I'm a little confused as to what products I can/cannot apply. Also, I'm currently undergoing treatment for the scars so is there something I should totally avoid? I follow my regular CTM routine that's all. I use a cleanser prescribed by my doc then go in witch a hazel toner followed by cetaphil moisturizer and finally spf 50 in the morn. At night I cleanse and repla
  21. I need help identifying my scars. In some pics look almost none existent idk of its the hyperpigment along with raised scars. And the fact I'm on accutane that makes my face look bumpy and uneven . I do have some scars that are quite evident but would like some insight on my situation any would help

Who does Subcision good for scars?
  23. I'm 34 and left with horrible scars after acne into adulthood. Even just this year, I've had a few more new scars. I'm about to marry my boyfriend of two years, who is also 10 years younger than me. This has brought immense pressure upon me as previously I managed to will myself into self-denial and managed to close one eye to my scars. Also, I've never had a boyfriend for long and never really felt the pressure to look good. As the wedding day draws closer, I am slipping into depression. 1. I
  24. Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I have not purchased any of the products that this website offers, but I needed a community of people that were dealing with a similar struggle. And with all of my searches for acne/acne scar treatments, acne.org seemed to pop-up repeatedly and I thought I'd sign up. I'm sure my post isn't the first and I apologize if I didn't post it in the right spot. But anyway, I guess I will give a brief history of my acne struggle. Basically, acne runs in my
