    It's About Time...

I've been a silent observer to this website for a very long time. So long in fact that I have already made the life-changing decision to begin an Isotretinoin treatment and am currently on my 47th day of treatment. Reading so many other blogs has inspired me to create my own, especially when I've experienced the difference it has made for me to read the commentary so many others have provided throughout their Iso journey. So even though they will probably never read this, thank you to all of the

    My Roaccutane Journey

Hello, I wanted to write this article in the hope that it will reassure potential Roaccutane/Accutane users that people do have positive experiences on it, despite all the negative press, which put me off the drug for so long, something I regret having seen the results it has had for me. I have had acne for the best part of 7 years, having got it when I was about 13. It started as little bumps under the skin on my forehead and gradually became big, red spots. My acne was never sever, I know

    Day 24 on Roaccutane

So today is day 24, feels like its been a lifetime already and I'm not even done with my first month! I phoned Dermatology today to get my bloods back, and they're all normal thank God. My weekend was a bit booze-fuelled so I was surprised, but I'm glad! I've been really good since starting Roaccutane and not had a drink, but did slip up which I will try not to do too much. Re my face, its getting dry now especially around the spots. They are quite scabby but I think they're reducing in siz

    DAY 17

My scalp is so dry now, has anybody got any recommendations for something to put on it? The problem is right at my hairline and there's a lot of flakiness. The only part of my face that's dry are my cheeks, my lips haven't gotten dry yet! Thankfully.
  5. My skin is getting more and more oily but it doesn't bother me much. I had 3 days of binge eating chocolate, crisps, cake, cheeses, everything and I got a few comedones and bumps on my forhead and chin which just intlamed, blistered and then peeled off. I also got this weird bumpy rash around the sides of my face but it disappeared as soon as I started eating properly I'm very glad I do not get cysts anymore and My acne may not be much of a problem but I think I still have some kind of dermatit

    Week 3

Oh man, how happy am I that week 3 showed a vast improvement! So, I'm still suffering from mood swings - but I can mostly attribute that to my past history with taking medication, as my body isn't used to having this sort of stuff in my system. Plus, I have had a slight issue with mood before taking Roaccutane so I'm not super worried about that. My lips are finally healing! Hallelujah, they were looking very worrying all last week so I'm glad using the right treatment has helped. In te
  7. So, since I already had bloods taken I'm having them repeated just because the doctor wants to make sure, which is happening next Wendesday, and then my Ultrasound scan is next Thursday. I will make a post with what happens. I will also post some pictures after this weekend of what my skin currently looks like.

    Day 39

Okiley dokily, so I'm on day 39 and not really sure why I'm blogging, as I haven't got a whole lot to report! Had my hair done today and a lovely back massage, which made me feel a little better in some ways but all the girls in the salon were planning a girly night as a new club has opened in town (which I was invited to but will not go out at the moment looking like this!!), and they all had lovely skin so it made me feel a little sad. Once I wouldn't have even given it a second thought, but

    DAY 16

Still dry, very hot in Dublin at the moment and the heat is making me even more tired. Trying to keep my face out of the sun at all times.

    DAY 19

Nothing new to note. I'm almost 3 weeks in and I haven't had any dryness of the face that's worth noting yet, starting to wonder could I just get really lucky.. But I don't want to jinx it! My lips haven't dried one bit! My lip balm is really good though

    Roaccutane 10mg/day

Roaccutane journal 10mg /day I am 24, female, and have been struggling with chin/jawline acne. This is a week by week journal of my skin while on 10mg/day roaccutane. I am currently 3 months in and will update as I progress. Week 1 (ending 9/6/18): Slight lip dryness (dry from winter anyway-not sure if this is a side effect) No new breakouts Still lots of existing congestion under skin around chin area (large cystic as well as little bumps) Wee
  12. Hey, So after trying EVERYTHING for my skin I started taking accutane & I am currently on my 5th week. I wanted to do this blog because I have been reading other peoples and have found them so supportive and insightful so I hoped to post one in the hope I could help some other people. It wasn't an easy decision to start accutane - everytime a doctor suggested me seeing a dermatologist I knew the outcome would be accutane so I wanted to be sure I had tried everything before I started

    DAY 28- 4 Weeks In!

Can't believe it's been 4 weeks already! Just two days under a month and i'm really happy with my skin the past few days. This cheek in particular has cleared up loads and is a lot less red than when I compare it to pictures I took a month ago! This cheek is always the worst with my acne but I can also see an improvement here when I compare it to a month ago.

    Week 27 20Mg

Well my friendss, I am down to my last two packs and I'm am tapering down to 20mg The marks left from last weeks breakout have only just healed and I know they are going become lovely new scars to add to my collection It has been so hot and sunny here in the uk and the sun always helps my skin No actives just one weird little non inflamed thinggy on my forehead next to a scar Only thing I am really annoyed about is the fact that my nose still has blackheads and still produces oil but ohhweee

I guess i shouldn't say this, but it seems that my acne is slightly starting to fade out...

    Week 9 30Mg

Upped my dose to 30mg, been on this dose for about a week and side effects are still bearable so plan for further up my dose to 40mg soon enough but no more as I believe this would be too much for my weight Got my first cyst since starting the course, two new cysts intact although they've gone down pretty quickly. Noticing an improvement with my pores although I am still breaking out which can be so discouraging but I hear a lot of people talking about improvements really starting to show at m
  17. Day 1 - I am starting of at a low dosage of 10mg/day as told by my dermatologist. I just took my first pill right after a heavy meal as I heard heavy meals help the pill to absorb better. My routine consists of gentle cleansing, toner, and moisturizer day and night. I will wear a cc cream with SPF 50 if I go out. Day 2 - I have not experienced any side effects, nor has there been any change in my acne. My friends tell me to try rubbing raw potato on my skin, as it can help clear acne fast
  18. When my skins good I'm euphoric. When my skins bad it's not even worth getting out of bed in the morning. I feel like accutane is this horrible drug that lulls you into a false sense of security until your skin comes back with a vengance I have just been diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovaries) and therefore discovered that the two courses of roaccutane I have been on were, in effect, useless and pointless i really need help

Day 10 On Accutane + Intro

I am an 18 year old male. Suffered form acne severely for around a year. Tried all topicals and a long course of doxycycline but it came back so my derm prescribed accutane immediately because it is the severe inflammatory type that causes scarring. When I started accutane most of my active lesions had a week to calm down or so and had only got 1 or so that week but it was still very red around my face. I am on 30mg (roche) roaccutane per day (0.5mg/kg), 2 prednisolone (steroid) pills, and clar

    Accutane Day 10!

I really fail at this.... haha. As soon as I started accutane I was like 'Woo gonna update everyday!', but then life got in the way. I'm in 6th year so school is very busy for me at the moment but now I have a week off. Yay! Apart from all the study I have to do But anyways, i would say side effects started to kick in around the end of the first week. So far I've experienced: Drier skin: So my skin is definitely not dry yet, but it's noticeably less oily. It's even slightly flaky around my
  21. Here are some photos from the end of week 1. I am breaking out a little more which I thought might not have done, ha! I woke up with a spot by my mouth that wasn't there last night and already came to a head. Fastest ever. New ones on my neck too. The volcano cyst thing on my cheek kind of never surfaced as it normally would have but it's now a nasty red patch. My lips are still dry and I am finding Burts bees the best by far. My nose peeling has calmed down now and next to my nose is a tiny bit

    Day 13

My first entry is written on the 26th of May, the 13th day I've been on Roaccutane. I only had the idea of documenting this journey today, but better late than never right? Oh and my dose for the first month and a half is 40mg per day. The first week on the pills went by pretty smoothly, no significant difference in my skin except for a little bit of dry, flaky skin on my nose and chin. My lips started drying very soon too, but I bought a jug of Vaseline to carry everywhere with me, and so fa

    Day 20

Almost 3weeks! oh my days, it feels like 2 months! soo many side affects but they are starting to stop now, i used to be exetremly itchy but now not so much, i would get a sore, bloodshot eye etc but no longer that but possibly worst ive been getting very slightly blurred vision in my left eye, what should i do about this? i can barely notice it but when i can its pretty annoying? has anyone experienced something like this? the eczema on my hands are starting to peel and make my hands not lo
  25. SIXSIXSIXSIXSIXSIX. Okay, okay. So currently on 60mg a day. I was meant to be bumped up 10mg but my derms handwriting is so illegible that the script got lost in the mail. What is with health specialist and their crappy handwriting? Hello, I'm paying you $145 a visit, can you at least make it possible for a piece of paper to get to me? Anyway, my skin's kind of meh. I've had about 5 breakouts come up this week, and all of the have been on the right side of my face. It sucks. My lips have be
