    1 Week Update

Hello ello ello, So today marks my 1 week of being on Roaccutane. So far, I haven't had many side effects apart from the dry skin which is mainly around my nose and mouth. My skin is a little red but nothing major, kinda just looks I've a bit of a tan on my face so I can't complain! The last few days I've been getting white heads in places I wouldn't usually get them like higher on my cheeks and 2 on my forehead where I NEVER get spots. I find some of them go and come back in the same place
  2. I've found these logs quite useful, so decided to make one myself in the hopes of helping someone else I'm 21 years old, female, 117 Ibs, 5'2, been suffering from moderate (sometimes mild on rare, good weeks) acne since I was 12. I mostly get papules and pustules, and many small whiteheads all over my nose and cheeks, and my skin is usually super oily. Since I'm brown, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is also an issue, sometimes a bigger issue than the acne itself. I have tried pretty much
  3. Hi Everyone, I hope this is in the right place. I'm 23, female, from England and started Roaccutane yesterday I'm on 40mg, have moderate acne, cystic, white heads, black heads, huge pores and oily skin. Thought I'd keep a log for anyone like me, and so I can look back as I go along. Day 1: I took my first dose yesterday and within a few hours developed a headache, which went away with painkillers, slept well, and feel fine today!
  4. Hello fellow warriors! ABOUT ME: AGE: 20 HEIGHT: 175cm WEIGHT: 75kg BEGINNING OF ACNE: 2012, age 15 (RO)ACCUTANE ROUND: 2 ACNE TYPE (*current course): mild, persistent = annoying/disturbing/noticeable (*1st round I had horrible back, neck, shoulders, face acne) DAILY DOSAGE: 40mg (2x20mg) MY STORY I'm 20 years old. My acne started destroying my life back in 2012, right when I started high school. I had horrible spots on my upper back, shoulders, back o

    OOPS

Ello ello I began writing a blog about my accutane experience on here a couple of years ago, but I stopped writing after the second week Which I now regret, as I am starting on course number 2, and would have really loved to have a reference longer than 2 weeks to look back on! I stopped taking accuatane the first time round after 4 months, and I guess it was too soon. I had cleared up so incredibly well and all my scars had even faded and I felt incredible. Then a few months ago I began b

Bio Oil After Being On Accutane?

Hiya, I finished my 9 month Accutane treatment about 2 months ago & whilst my spots have finally gone (at last! haha) my scars are still bothering me. I was just wondering if Bio Oil would be suitable for me? As I know people are often advised to stay away from using it whilst actually on their accutane treatment, so I was wondering if it would be safe to use now or if it could trigger my spots off again? Thank you
  7. Hello! So I decided to do a useful post after moaning and sinking deeper into depression about my skin and I've been doing a lot of thinking over the past few weeks and seeing my endocrinologist etc.. For anyone currently on/considering/reconsidering roaccutane a.k.a accutane, here is a list of my pros and cons after two courses. PROS. 1) IT WORKS - for a time Yes roaccutane will clear you up, yes it does work in that respect, but at a price, and only for a limited amount of time in m

    Day 7-13

WEEK ONE. Finally i figured out how to make a blog! Hi everyone, I am a 17 yr old male, i weigh 70kg and im roughly 6 foot, on a 20mg/day isotretinoin regime for 9 months, and i've decided to make a blog to keep you guys posted on how my low dosage goes, the ups, and the downs. First off i'll start by saying, it took me roughly 6 months, AFTER i received my roaccutane pills, of researching endlessly and going back and forth with it, before actually trying it. I had bad acne for a while

    Spray Tan on Accutane?

Hey guys, Has anyone had a spray tan on Accutane? If so, how did it come out? I am SO over being pale and with spring/summer approaching in the UK, I would like a bit of a glow. Thanks x
  10. I'm just into my second month of 40mg per day (first month 20mg) and I'm really missing my waxing routine :/ I know this is something I have to deal with and I am.. however, my skin isn't feeling that tender or overly dry as of yet.. so I was wondering if anyone has tried waxing early on into their treatment or even later.. will I be able to squeeze in one last under arm wax or am I too late? I know everyones skin reacts differently to the drug but I am curious to hear other peoples experi

    DAY 1

I took my first Roaccutane tablet last night straight after my dinner. I was apprehensive because the leaflet in the packet still says 'do not take if you have a peanut allergy), but the company 'Roche' and my dermatologist had assured me the peanut oil has been taken out recently, soya is still present (which I am not allergic to). So I took the tablet painlessly without allergic reaction I felt fine but a few hours later I had cramps in my stomach. Not sure if it is related to the tablet
  12. Hi, I'm in my 16th week of 20 mg/day for mild - moderate acne. The initial breakout wasn't too bad and didn't last for a long time. My skin has been acne-free since around week 11 and I'm REALLY happy with my results! However it looks like most studies suggest that low-dose users are more likely to relapse once the course is over. I weigh 45 kilos. If my calculations are correct - to reach a cumulative dose of 120mg/kg, I still have roughly 22 more weeks to go (of 20mg/day). Or, I can up

    DAY 34

Nothing new today. I'm getting quite nice tan from the weather. Because I have naturally quite sallow skin that tans easily my skin has been fine (no redness or rashes etc.) Still wearing suncream, and protecting my face from any sun at all with either a cap and suncream or my makeup that has SPF in it! No changes in my face, spot on my cheek is gone and no dryness.

    Roaccutane

As I suffered for so long, the doctor's eventually prescribed me Roaccutane. Roaccutane is to thank for the massive improvement in my skin. However, I was told my acne would almost certainly never come back, and guess what? It did. But don't be disheartened by this! Pros: During the time - and for several months after - completely cleared acne! Skin was left unblemished and unmarked! Cons: Had to take lots of tablets. Dried out lips severely. Hair became dull. Skin was dry. (A small price
  15. So I saw the doctor this afternoon and she has sent me for a blood test to check the liver, Kidneys and Pancreas. She is also sending me for an ultrasound to check on them too. So that's good. Now just to wait for the blood test results. Being in the UK I wont have the scan for around a month. She advised I carry on with the tablets but if the pain gets worse I should stop until we know if there is anything wrong.
  16. From the album: accutane

    Who would have believed...
  17. I've been on accutane for 2.5 months. I was on 30mg for the first month, 40mg for 1.5 months and now taking 50mg (I weigh around 65kg / 145lbs). My acne has gotten considerably worse since I've started accutane and I definitely have more rolling/box scars than the start. It seems every other week it looks like it's getting better, only for a major BO to start. This has happened around 3-4 times now and redness from previous spots is being to spread a lot. The disappointment when more spot/cysts
