  1. Hey guys. So I made this account because after two years of struggling with prescription acne meds, nothing has significantly improved. I currently use a Clyndamycin lotion and a .1% Retin-A cream, at day and night respectively. I also use Aczone cream for spot treating, and use a Neutrogena Acne Wash Redness Soothing day and night. However, i still get frequent whiteheads and i have lots of red spots from previous pimples that have not disappeared, especially in the cheek region below the eyes.
  2. So today is my first day of trying the acne.org regimen but since my products haven't arrived yet I will be using some of the products I have at home. Facewash: Dermalogica Ultra calming cleanser Treatment: Tretinoin cream 0.1 Moisturizer: Dermalogica Active moist with a vitamin e oil capsule to help with my scaring Last night I also started the Epsom salt soak to try and bring these cysts to heads. I'll see how this works and let yall know.
  3. My current regimen: proactive 3 step formula in the morning and then I moisturizer with cetaphil derma control with SPF 30. at nigth I keep it simple with a cetaphil gentle face wash ( no moisturizer because my skin doesn't get too dry) then I apply tretinoid cream Rigth before bed. I've been on this routine for about 4 or 5 months and it's been working fair, can't complain, but I still get breakouts every now and then consisting of the kinda deep pimples that get inflamed and I have to apply a

    Ziana

Hello I am 20 year old male experiencing very mild acne. I have about 4 active pimples most of the time, although they are the deep red ones that turn red and lurk forever on my skin. I also have an obsession with picking my skin, which in turn makes it worse. My derm prescribed me Ziana gel ( Clindymycin/ Tretinoin). I have used Green cream level 9 in the past, so irritation is not really a problem as my skin is used to retinol. It has been 1 week and 4 days since i have been using z
  5. I have been using 0.05% renova cream for about 6 days at night. Day 1 was fine, but since then it has gradually got worse. I was acne free prior to using renova except for neck area. After 6 days, my face is very dry, itchy, irritated, red, and peeling badly ;( I have been using CeraVe PM Lotion for moisturizing, but my skin peels like snake nonetheless. It looks gross and feels unpleasant. I was wondering how long this peeling process usually lasts for. Also, I have IB on my neck area b/c i

    Acne not leaving

I had mild acne, so I was prescribed minocycline 100mg a day along with other home remedies. I have been doing this for 5 months and saw little improvement so my dose was increased to 200mg a day along with retin a. I exercise daily, no dairy, moisturize, change sheets every 3 days, plenty of water along with vitamin A and C supplements. My acne has seemed to be getting worse recently and I feel hopeless. Any ideas?

    RIght side

    From the album: 2013

Okay this picture I believe was almost 2 months of using retin A 0.05% and minoclycline. A little improvement as you can see I only have one active white head, a big one unfortunately, and the redness and scars are just barely starting to fade.

    Birth Control And What Else?

So I'm planning to go on oral contraceptives to assist with my acne. Not sure which one yet but I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I should be able to update that soon! I am currently on Retin-A and I just got off of doxycycline. I've been using Retin-A for several months and it's just not right for me. I understand that if you keep with it, it will improve but I've decided that it's just not right for my lifestyle. In the summer, I am in the sun for 8+ hours a day because I'm a lifeguard
  9. Hey Everyone, I am 23 years old and have been on Retin - A Micro since the start of September (4 mths). I have prior history with Accutane, which I feel worked somewhat well, but not nearly as well as expected. I am honestly so fed up. I thought at 23 years old, with mild but consistent acne (which is the worse due to the psychological effects.. like how is it possible I *always* have at least one or two zits, they clear up, then I get another one or two!?, like why doesn't it all come a

    Tazorac?

I was on retin a for 4 months and all it did was smooth my skin. At first I got it for whiteheads. During my 4th week I purged then the whiteheads now became red marks. This crap doesn't fade red marks and I am very depressed bc now my face is worse than before. My acne was mild now its severe. I was aware of the intial breakout which occurred week 6 then cleared week 8. It is now week 18 and it's still the same but even worse. Skin is filled with more whiteheads and left over red marks just my
  11. I've been using Differin .3 and .1 for a year now. I know that Differin still works for me because I've gone off it for a week before and my skin got worse. But I feel like it's less effective then it was in the beginning. Has anyone else experienced this? Did you try switching to Retin A or Tazorac? I know they're supposed to be stronger so I thought that could help. I've tried EVERYTHING else! Including Aha and/or Bha in the AM as well as Finacea, etc. My acne is mild and non-hormonal-
  12. Is it okay to use the clarisonic while using tretinoin cream? Not everyday but maybe 2-3 times a week?
  13. Hi does anyone know whether you can use differin along with a moisturiser that contains aha/bha? I am using a moisturiser by Avene which contains these but am planning to go back to either differin or retin A as my skin looked best using them - but I still want the exfoliating effects from the Avene! Thanks!
  14. Hey guys. So I'll keep it simple started using Retin A about a week and a half ago and I started to start peeling. The past 2 days iv'e had no peeling. Is this normal?

    Retin A and Accutane

Hey guys, I've been wondering for a while now why Retin A is supposed to be good for scarring, but Accutane supposedly makes scars form easier. If they're both derived from vitamin A, wouldn't it make sense that they do the same thing even though one is topical and the other is oral? For example, vitamin C is supposed to promote collagen either way. Anybody read anything about this or have any idea?
  16. I don't have the worst acne in the world, i just have a lot of pimples (like 15-17). i have been using clean and clear 10% benzoil peroxide for a long time but didnt see much improvement. i went to the doctor a little over 2 weeks ago and he gave me .01% (yes i realize that is the lowest dosage) and an antibiotic called ERY-tab 500 mg (to my knowledge this is the highest dosage). is it ok to keep using the clean and clear wash? i feel like it helps a ton because my face gets super oily and greas
  17. Here in the UK, getting your hands on any tretinoin is a complete nightmare! Our only topical prescription containing tretinoin is Aknemycin Plus which is a solution in alcohol (very irritating) and it also contains erythromycin. We have no access to any medications such as retin-a micro or ziana etc. We used to have a product called Retin-A which was just tretinoin in a gel and then in October 2012 it was discontinued! I have been using differin but it just isn't quite strong enough. A

    Oily On Retin A

hey guys. so before using retin a, my skin was normal. it wasn't dry nor was it oily. but after using it, my skin started overproducing oil and i don't know if it's the retin a or it just so happens that my oil glands are overproducing sebum because of puberty (i'm 17). did anyone else experience this? if so, what did you do to at least control the oil production? could really use some help. thanks!
  19. so I wanted to share with you what I paid over 500 dollars to get: a routine drawn up by a dermatologist that really worked. Then I am going to show you how I am working to tweek it for my newly uninsured unemployed little self. And before I go into all of this I just want to say wether you have insurance or not if over the counter stuff is not working please go to your general doctor, a dermatologist, even a free clinic if need be, it truely is worth it. I kick myself for the times I fell off

    Before It Begins...

Alright. Dan's products come in about a day or two, and I'm ready to start this. I've tried pretty much everything. I've wasted (or not wasted, because at least I know they don't work!) tons of money on products and procedures that have never made my acne go away. It's only been almost a year, but I know that I shouldn't have to wait that long to have clear skin again. I can do this. I just have to be persistent, and stop torturing my skin with new products and treatments. It's insa

    12 Weeks

Nothing new. The spots are still there, they dont want to fade. I feel the natural lightening outside makes them stand out more, but my daughter told me it looks the same in either light. How nice to hear.... lol NOT! I am approaching my TOM and seem to have spot brewing on my chin and one to the right side. I wish the spots would go away.

Post Accutane Day 45 (With New Regimen)

I currently have no acne on my face. It's smooth and clear. Last week i had a little lump on my cheek but it went away in two days. Perhaps it's all better because of my new regimen: clean and clear BP 10% during the morning, regular Clean and Clear facewash at night followed by Rentin A. It dries my skin after each wash but then oil returns but i have to say, my face isn't as oily as before the 2nd course of accutane AND DEFINITELY not as oily as before as the first time i used accutane.

    Idek What Week It Is

hey guys! it's been so long since i updated. retin a really does make your skin smooth but it has made mine shiny (bc my skin is now thin) but whatever i really dont mind. still not clear though but my acne has been SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. and it f idk if it's because of teh vitamins im taking (d3,a,zinc,niacin) or really because of retin a. anyway will update u guys if anything better happens. and when ppl say that retin a makes pimples go away fast, it really is legit. it's like it hastens pim
  24. It seems like my face is peeling a little bit less. I think it's been around 4 or 5 weeks since I started using Retin A Micro. I am using it 2x per week now (on the in between days I use nice moisturizers or tamanu oil). Just the other day, I noticed that the tone of my skin seems to be improving. It's hard to describe but it seems to be getting more even and maybe a touch of a glow to it. I'll take it! I am still getting random bumps here and there but nothing out of the ordinary. I don'

    Initial Breakout On Oracea?

Hello all. I have been struggling with acne since I was in 8th grade. It just isn't fair how some people have perfect skin and they don't do anything. I have been on practically everything. Usually I am in a cycle and it ranges from clear, beautiful skin to breaking out a lot. Since For as long as I can remember, I have been on Oracea in the morning paired with Duac(Benzoyl Peroxide and Clindamycin) and at night I take Ortho-Cyclen and Retin-a .04%. I use Cetaphil Moisturizer and Cleanser, and
