  1. I was on epiduo and doxycyxline 100 mg this Time last year and it cleared my mild to moderate acne beautifully within 3 months! About 10 months later my zits slowly came back and I was switched to ziana and minocycline. Today at my derm appointment I was switched from ziana back to epiduo because I made little to no progress with ziana )): !!! My derm said she didn't know if it would work but I'm hoping it works for me just as good as the first time around. Has anyone had success with a certain
  2. I’ve been taking clindamycin for 4 years and I just got off due to concern for taking an antibiotic for that long. What are some of the effects this could have had on my body? and how will my skin react to me getting off antibiotics when I’ve relied on them for so long?
  3. Hello Everybody....I´ve been following this site for a very long time but only now I have decided to make my first post. First I will tell you a bit about myself and my acne. (Hope its not too long to read!! ) So Im a 23 year old girl from Portugal who has suffered from acne ever since I was about 9...they started a small bumps ,and then when I was about 13 they really got horrific...on my chest, back, arms, scalp and my face was covered with deep painful inflamattory acne. I was diagnosed w
  4. Hi guys. It happened. Well. I should clarify, it's happening. And fast. And it's more painful than I ever thought it would be. Resistance. I noticed that there aren't many storys out there of long term antibiotic use. I mean longer than a couple of years. I've seen 2 years. I actually saw a comment of a seven year user, but I can't think of many that have gone on this long. Well here is one. I'm nearer 11 years. I should explain. I'm a
  5. Hi Guys I'm new to the forums and I'm seeking advice from peoples personal experience and knowledge to give me some advice and point me in the right direction hopefully! I've had acne since about 16 and its been so hard to keep minimal, I'm 20 now and a couple of months ago my GP put me onto Epiduo and Lymecline Capsules , it took about 2-3 months for it to really work, when my skin was at its best all scares had disappeared , there were no spots, blackheads/whiteheads you name it, I could not
  6. I have been on some form of antibiotics for four years straight. For about 11 months I have been taking 40 mg of Oracea 1x a day and 50 mg of minocycline 2x a day. The past few months my skin has been breaking out again which tells me I have become resistant to the antibiotics. I'm considering weening off antibiotics because there is no reason I should be taking it if it isn't helping. My question is do you think that the antibiotics aren't working at all or there not working as as they used to?
  7. Dear all, I have been breaking out lately, for a month or so. I won't say it's anything severe but according to my dermatologist the acne I have is known as comedones. They're also not obvious unless clearly analysed. I went to visit my derm today and he prescribed me an antibiotic called Tetracycline, in 250mg. I am supposed to take 1 capsule during the day and 2 at night for a month. He claimed that I won't receive any side effects from this BUT when I did my research online, I re
  8. Ok below is my journey story thing if you care to hear more information on my dilemma! Here's the short version: ive tried most antibiotics, but they've stopped working. My derm prescribed my clindamycin ORALLY (not topically-I've already tried that and it helped floor along time then stopped). I can't find much information on ppl who've taken this orally long term for acne. Have any of you? I'm Scared to take it because of the intestinal side effects that are the only thing i can find talke

  11. Hi After stalking this site I have decided to sign up so I can finally ask for help about what to do with my acne. Here's a brief history of my skin: At age 10 I started to get blackheads around my nose and on my chin which have never gone away. Age 11- started getting the occasional whitehead, had constant white spots on the apples of my cheeks age 12- got lots of red spots on my forehead, chin, in the summer I developed chest and back acne which still remains. age 13- went on tetracycline
