  1. Hi, I'm a 23 year old male. I started Accutane around March 2008 (when I was 19 years old). The acne greatly decreased. There were less inflammations than before and the pain from these inflammations were decreased. However, every now and then, I have reoccurring acne. Do you think I should consider relapsing my treatment of Accutane?
  2. So after a particularly horrible year dealing with cystic acne, I went on accutane - 20mg for 4 months while I was living abroad. When I got back, I went to see my dermatologist and he said that I should go on a second round for 6 months at 40mg to make sure my acne didn't come back. I really hated how I felt on accutane, and so wanted to wait a bit to see how my skin would do. It's been 4 months since I got off accutane, and I just got another cyst on the side of my face which scared me enough
  3. Hi guys, I’m a 21 yrs old, 150lbs female. I’ve had severe acne due to oily skin since I was 14. I’ve been treated with antibiotics and many topicals that unfortunately didn’t work for me. About 2-3 years ago I started my first course of accutane. I’ve seen improvement but shortly after I stopped, my skin started to break out again. I visited my dermatologist and she started me on another course of 6 months (monitoring my blood work). Again, there was a major improvement, my skin became so clea
  4. My acne started getting really bad 2 years ago. I had been prescribed antibiotics and a retin-a as usual, and they didn't help much, but kept using them for about 5 months because I knew it was supposed to take time. my personality was deteriorating immensely. I pretty much stayed in my room all day. I no longer made plans with my friends, and I became distant. Every night when my bed hit the pillow I would wake up hoping to see some results. My acne resulted in lack of self-confidence and turn
  5. Over the past 2/3 weeks my skin has gone from spot free to moderate acne. From April until august 2016 I took a course of accutane which cleared my severe acne completely however it has relapsed. Any reasons for this and can I get rid of it?
  6. Hi, I'm in my 16th week of 20 mg/day for mild - moderate acne. The initial breakout wasn't too bad and didn't last for a long time. My skin has been acne-free since around week 11 and I'm REALLY happy with my results! However it looks like most studies suggest that low-dose users are more likely to relapse once the course is over. I weigh 45 kilos. If my calculations are correct - to reach a cumulative dose of 120mg/kg, I still have roughly 22 more weeks to go (of 20mg/day). Or, I can up
  7. Hey guys, It has been established that a regular dose of accutane, instead of the low dose, has been more successful in curing acne in the long run. I am curious to hear what has been your experience. Please, tell me for how long did you take Accutane, what was your dose, how much did you weigh at that time, how severe was your acne (if your have pics even better!) and for how long did your skin stay clear. I hope that all of the Accutane users who have had to go a 2nd or even 3rd rou
  8. Just wondering, cause I'm starting my first ever round at age 29 and my doc said she has never seem it happen, but I find it hard to believe after reading the posts on here. I've seen where starting on a higher dose makes it less likely to happen and getting to an even higher does during the course of treatment makes it less likely to relapse, also. Seems the magic numbers tend to be about 120-150mg/day, but per the guidelines I can't take anymore than 100mg/day max since I only weigh 110 pou
  9. Hey guys, So the 23rd October marked my year anniversary of stopping Accutane...but it looks as though my skin is going slowly back to how it was I thought I was being really lucky, I had no problems for months and months but just recently, perhaps in the last month or two, my acne has been coming slowly back. You know how you feel it under the skin, and then it works its way up into a big red angry spot? Yeah. I know my skin, and I know how my acne used to be; it's the same type of acne com
