  1. hi all, i just thought i would share some of the good results ive been having against adult acne & redness. the 2 main products im using are Sebamed Soap Bar (around £3) & 5% acncide cream (around £10) - both found in the chemist the "sebamed" soap is sls free, soap free & has a ph of 5.5 - so is ideal for sensitive skin. for a long time i was using 10% panoxyl which is good but is too strong, the acnecide product is very expensive but worth the price considering it ca
  2. Acne history: I had been using Proactiv for a good 8 years(biggest mistake of my life) when I started to notice my skin getting duller, little bumps started re-appearing, and my clothes and towels were getting bleached. These are things I guess I had ignored because the product was "working". I slowly stopped using Proactiv and then starting using an all natural line - that's when all hell broke loose. My face exploded and continued to get worse. I tried a few other natural methods and just got
  3. I've been using it for 2 weeks now & my face gets really really dry I can't even apply makeup because my skin is so dry. What should I do is this normal will it stop? I need answers. I like how my skin feels after using it but the extreme dryness is so annoying I don't want to stop using it. I've even changed it to using it once a day. Help please and thank you.
  4. Hi. Well heres another acne story to add to the list. Being age 17 I suppose its to be expected, due to hormones and all, but my acne seems to have gotten out of control, especially in the forehead area, but now its appearing on the side of my face and cheeks, as the pictures show, along with the occasional bumps on my nose/chin (Yeah, I'm a mess). I've tried many products, primarily ones containing salyclic (?) acid and BP; I'm using one that is BP 10% now, been using it for roughly a month but
  5. Hey guys, Was wondering when your Post Inflammatory Erythema faded? These are the red marks you get after acne/trauma and will disappear when they are pressed and then come back when they aren't being pressed, so annoying man! (Victims of PIH are normally people with darker complexions and the marks are usually brown and PIE is red/purple) Just wanted some more information, there's a dude on here called 'bio_nerd' and he has loads of information about it on his profile but he hasn't been a
  6. I have taken two courses of accutane. I have been off of my second course for about 3 months and my skin is still quite red and the scars are fading very slowly. My skin is very sensitive to the touch and turns red easily now. Some of the small marks are some current clogged pores I've been having on my cheeks. Any advice on helping the redness/scarring to even out my skin tone? It is not dryness induced,my skin is no longer dry from the medicine. the splotchy redness is just embarrassing and I
  7. So I've had moderate acne for a little over a year now and finally decided to go a dermatologist after I tried LOTS of different over the counter products. My doctor prescribed me Perrigo Clindamycin Phosphate and benzoyl peroxide gel,1.2%/5%. It seems to be paying off a little after two months of use. I started off with applying it once every night, then worked my way up to at morning and night. About 75% of my acne is clear besides my main problem area, my mouth/chin area. My problem is that m
  8. Got of accutane this year June. The inflammatory acne is finally going down slowly, He told me if i got of accutane it would scar like that for life, Now i relized i shouldnt of listen to him and been of this medication a year ago it fuc*ing Destroyed me! EVERYTHING in moderation is OKAY, Don't get me wrong. I have really bad redness / red marks, I have left it for a good 6 months and there still really dam red, Anyone tried retin-a after accutane or anything else to help the redness? I've onl
  9. Hi all, I've been using clindamycin twice daily (morning and before bed) and retin-a (Trentonin, before bed) once a day, and towards the end of the school day I always seem to get greasy looking and very red looking skin. I understand the greasy looking part, but is there any reason I should be experiencing redness more than TWO months after beginning treatment?
  10. So i have started a new regimen which seems to be working in reducing my acne (which is mostly just clogged pores) i am not going to tell you what i am using (and taking) until i am sure that it is actually these things for sure that are helping. My original post mentioned that i was trialing Vitamin D however that really wasn't working out so i stopped taking it. If my current regimen keeps working i will post back within a few days so stay tuned. I have taken before and after pics of my new
  11. So for a few months, the space in between my eyebrows (and like a milimeter above and down the space inbetween eyebrows) has been red. It looks sort of like acne, and most of my acne on my forehead is clear, but a lot of it is healing. I have some on the side of my head and like 2 on my cheeks and every once in a while on my nose and facial hair, but I'm not sure what the redness is. I don't believe I've scarred myself cause I don't pick at acne, And I've used benzoyl peroxide from the dermatolo
  12. Hey guys, I have some questions ! *I'm on a low dose (20-40 mg) and I have been on accutane for about 4-5 months. Didn't have cystic acne but a lot of pimples that left acne marks on my face and back, and they wouldn't go away with any other treatment.. 1: Have any of you tried anything that could remove or just reduce red marks/hyperpigmentation while ON accutane? 2: my skin tend to blush up and get red, especially my nose and cheeks which make my acne marks look worse, I have started using
  13. I constantly have redness stemming from the acne on my cheeks, chin, forehead, and around my nose. This, I think, is from my face being dried out, by using face washes that claim to cleanse and treat acne using 2% salicylic acid, from Clearasil. Even the face wash, called Hydro-blast, which advertises that it's for sensitive skin and hydrates the skin dries out my face. Keep in mind, this is even after using Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, which is said to be the best, most gentle one out there. I
  14. Hey guys, so I've been using Epiduo since the start of the year, and while it's working, it's also made all the areas of my face in which I use it (so basically everywhere) red. Around my mouth and chin and the sides of my face are the worst. Has anyone else experienced this? As I said, I've been on it for 10 months now so the redness isn't some initial side effect. Will it go away if I stop using it or is this permanent?
  15. I've struggled with moderate acne since ~grade 7, and I'm 18 now. I haven't picked at it since middle school, but I have these awful red marks that just won't go away! From researching, I think they're hyperpigmentation? My dermatologist doesn't seem to think they're a big deal, and gave me a 5% glycolic acid moisturizer thing that doesn't help at all. I'm wondering if I should look into chemical peels/other removal methods, but my skin is so sensitive that I'm not sure if it would worsen.
  16. Hello! So I recently switched up my regimen because my other one was just simply washing with a gentle wash and thats it.. it wasn't giving me the consistent skin I'm looking for.. Now I've been using a couple things. - Washing with Vichy 3-1 scrub (I pat it on, only actually exfoliate with it 2-3x a week) I pat it on morning and night. Its clay, glycolic and salicylic acid. - Toning cheek and nose pores with simple toner (mostly witch hazel) - Spot treating with 100% aloe gel on new
  17. I have got off on roaccutane (a.k.a accutane) about 1 week ago. My spots have cleared up and I haven't had any spots in about 5/6 weeks. However, I have really bad bright red marks on both cheeks leftover from acne. My cheeks feel completely smooth so the marks are just visual. I am 18 and starting university in 1 month and really want these marks to fade. How long will these marks take to fade on their own? I am buying Obagi Nuderm cream for £400 to reduce hyperpigmentation, how long will this
  18. I had mild acne since it was 12 I'm now 28 I finally asked my Gp about it and was given differin for night clindoxyl in the mornings so I've been using them for 5 days and my skin keeps getting super red and sore peeling hurting when I use the differin I'm wondering if this is normal? I'm going to stop using it every day maybe every third day any help advice anything would be much appreciated
  19. Hallo, Two years ago, I had a huge cyst on my cheek that took forever to become inactive, and the pus completely drained. Today it is just a large red spot, but it has a raised surface to it, which I can feel when I run my fingers over the area. I have been told that it may be raised scar tissue. What I am mainly concerned about is the redness. I have tried all manner of peels (skin culture 4000, tca 25%, Salicylic acid 50%, Lactic acid 50%, fruit peels, etc.), vitamin c cerum, tea tree
  20. Okay so I might sound like a douche with this, but bear with me because I know there have to be others like this. So naturally I'm very good looking (again not trying to be a tool) but i've suffered with acne and it almost makes it worse because when I look in the mirror and know that I could be good looking again if I could just clear up the acne (btw I'm an 18 yr old male freshman in college). I feel unlucky because I walk around college and think, "Great, no one in college has acne, it's a hi
  21. Accidentally made two posts. How do I delete this?
  22. Hi! I'm new to this website so I thought I'd start by giving some background about my skin. I'm 19 years old and I've had acne since I was 11 years old. I didn't care so much about it until I was in highschool, but by then it had dyed down quite a bit. This past few months my acne has flared up like crazy! I have tiny little red pimples all over my face and the odd cyst. Oh, and I also have tons and tons of red post acne marks that drive me crazy! I've tried everything, and I mean everything!
  23. Hi, I am 14 years old and have struggled with light-moderate pimples and acne since I was 12. I was on the Regimen from October 5th, 2014 until mid-January of 2015, which is when I ran out of the Regimen cleanser and the moisturizer. I continued with the Regimen BP, and just purchased my second bottle of it. It did do wonders for my skin, but I still have little clogged pores and blackheads all over my forehead, nose, and chin. I wash my face with Cetaphil Oily Face Wash twice a day, apply BP tw
  24. My face is noticeably lighter than my body and I started to use a face solarium so my face would match my body. I have an acid peel face mask and it said on the back it makes your face more sensitive to the sun, so I was stupid (i know this) and thought it'd give me a tan if I used it after my peel. My face has a white shiny red cast over the top of it now and my face is always so much redder than my body. I have yellow toned body and red/pink face? How can I reverse this?
  25. For some reason half of my face breaks out more than the other.. The half the had more breakouts is leathery looking, red and irritated constantly(especially after washing) and also has lots of scarring and discoloration.. I love the one half of my face.. But the other side is horrible.. Why is my face like this on just one side? What face washes are gentle but will clear and prevent acne(cetaphil does not stop the break outs)... Would a peel be good? Any spot treatments or anything?
