  1. So today I'm having a better day !! hallelujah! !! I decided that the differin -even though it's like ,% may be too strong for me.. I'm very fair skinned & burn easily as is so I decided to cut back on it to every second day I woke up with 4 spots today like the white head on the surface ones and they were small so who cares? ? I think I won't skip it again though .. I'm going to mi it with a moisturiser every second night I also went to clinique I was looking at the anti blemish rang
  2. To start off, I am going to try and start posting once a month at least, hopefully, more often than that. As for the update on my skin, it hasn't been the best few days. I think that is because I have run out of acidophilus that I pair with spiro, and my skin is not liking that. I forgot to call in the refill before the weekend. As a result of that, I have a few new spots on my cheek that are honestly really bothering me. I can't feel them, but my skin was looking good before this. It might also
  3. Hi everyone! So this is my week 8 of using differin. Last week was a mess. Still, this week is a mess. I have 2 whiteheads on right cheek and one on left cheek. This week I also apply benzac 5% for 20 minutes and wash out before washing my face with cleaser in both morning and evening. Acne reacted to benzac quite well but it leaves dry skin. I will keep using benzac but lower the time to 15 mins. My major problem for this week is scars which appear all over my face. Both left and right cheek
  4. Hey everyone! It's been about 3 years since my last post and I must say my face is looking way better! I get small breakouts here and there but I haven't had any full blown painful as hell clusters in ages! I mostly owe that too being very strict with my face cleaning habits and the products I use. Sadly I still haven't found the perfect face wash, toner and moisturizer system but I make do with the random ones I purchase. I use the Mia 2 now and it really helps get every bit of makeup off my
  5. Since last I wrote, I let you guys know that I started using about half a finger's length more of benzyol peroxide than usual, so I am using 3/4 of the ideal amount, which would be two finger's length. *I guess I was never really precise in describing what "a finger's length actually means", so here goes. I ordered the 8oz treatment so it doesn't come with the pump. Those of you that have the pump know that the amount you're working up to is two pumps. I sort of very freely assumed that the amou
  6. I just need to say, WOW, my skin was flaky yesterday. I have no idea what happened. I washed my face and flakes came off on my towel! I could've peeled so much of my face off. It was weird, but I suppose it's better to let some layers shed and keep my skin as fresh as possible. Gotta get all of the rest of that buried acne out of there! Speaking of such, I'm very irked by a cluster of bumps under my skin on my problem cheek. The other side of my face is SO much clearer, what's going o
  7. I'm sorry I haven't posted about the past few days. I didn't have time to access the internet this weekend. I'll just quickly summarize how my skin's been doing: Day 25: Again, flaky skin. Even though I was in a van for about 10 hours, I insisted on wearing makeup the entire day. There were travel videos to worry about and such. I bought Tarte's Maracuja Miracle Foundation the day before, which is a liquid. The woman selling me the product was successful in convincing me that liquid f
  8. This morning, I woke up to no new forming pimples, and even better, diminished whiteheads. I was so pleased to see that the popped whiteheads from yesterday healed pretty well, and it doesn't look like they'll be coming back. Thank goodness. The papule near my nose has also shrunk a bit, which is great. I just want to be able to wear makeup today without looking like a bumpy toad. My skin is still extremely dry and flaky, but I'm proud of this progress! This is one of those days on the
  9. Well, I freaked out yesterday, but it looks like my skin is back to progressing. Most of the areas that were popped yesterday are either now red marks or smaller whiteheads, which I'm fine with. It could've been worse! Of course, my skin is also back to its insanely dry, red, and burning routine. Applying the BP is never bad, but for some reason when I put on the 2 pumps of moisturizer (and 5-6 drops of jojoba now ) my skin starts freaking out and stinging like mad. It definitely needs
  10. Okay. I just need to vent a little here. I apologize in advance. WHY is my skin doing this? The initial clearing was absolutely a tease. There's this decently-sized red bump on my cheek and whiteheads on both my forehead and cheeks. This is so uncool. I have to admit that yes, my skin is getting less inflamed and these breakouts will heal like the rest, but goodness this is saddening. Especially without the aid of face makeup. I can't stop looking at my skin. Look at my photo
  11. Day 8 has proven so far to be quite the challenge. First, let me just say that the Regimen is still awesome. My skin is still progressing quite smoothly and at the proper pace However, my skin is definitely feeling the increased amount of BP, and it seems to be purging like no other. I don't really mean that it's breaking out. It just seems to be screaming, "EVERYTHING ON ME WILL DIE A PAINFUL DEATH." So, what's going on with my skin? Time to investigate: 1. I did have a mi
  12. I'm currently Day 14 following The Regimen I've seen minor improvements on my face, no new acne popping up in my face and the older ones are gone by now or at least very dry. However, I can still se acne scars here and there due to the old acne. My only concern is that my face is now darker than the usual color also when being compared to my neck. The skin also tends to get very dry after I wash my face with a gentle cleanser, should I scrub off the dry skin on my face or just leave it as it
  13. OK so.... I'm an idiot. Well, not really an idiot, but I honestly wonder why I did this to myself - and why I canNOT stop picking in a vengeful rage against my poor, poor face. I added extra glycolic acid to the parts that are in the picture as obviously red and messed up. The rest of my skin basically looks fine, though since cutting down to just 1G Pantothenic acid supplementing a day it is definitely getting oilier. Background info - I bought 70% Glycolic acid undiluted (extremely high pe
  14. So my skin is VERY different from when I started accutane. For the past 2 weeks I have been moved up my dosage. RECAP-- (If you're new--read my other posts) -30 mg for 2 weeks -60 mg for 1.5 weeks--too much too soon--BAD Initial Breakout -30 mg odd days, 60 mg even days for 1.5 weeks ***60 mg every day for the past 2 weeks Moving Up Doses Had SOME Side Effects: ((Went from 30 on odd days to 60 on even days)) to 60mg every day. ***DO NOT FREAK OUT FROM THIS LIST--the dryness
  15. So, if you are just starting to read my blog, I'm back on Accutane because I only did 3 months at 40mg before. Previous 3 Month Experience with Accutane I was on Accutane from the end of July to October (about 3 months) when I had an issue with a failed birth control method. My derm wanted me to go off Accutane for a couple of months until we knew that I would not have issues with taking it again. I was disappointed at the time, because it truly was an accident, but I completely understood
  16. I used to have severe breakouts about two years ago. I radically changed my diet and began working out, and I was happy and healthy and got rid of my acne. All of last year, my skin was clear. It felt amazing. At the end of summer 2013, I began noticing little breakouts. I thought they would go away. I wasn't eating very healthy and I was drinking though. When school started, I became more and more stressed and worked out less and less. I began breaking out, my skin began spiraling out of con
  17. Now, it is week 11 of my treatment (and technically week 7 of using adapalene and clindamycin). There hasn't been any major changes. The large pimples I mentioned last time have mostly gone down. There's only one large pimple now and my right cheek has become a bit smoother. Other than that, there's nothing interesting. Also, I forgot to mentioned in the last entry, but I am Asian with medium skin tone that can tan fairly easy. I don't each much junk food as I use to (a bag of chips every
  18. Hi , this is my 3 month update. I've been on accutane for 90 days now. I was on 20 mg per day for first 2 months and past month I was on 30 mg per month. The improvement my skin has made sometimes blows me away. But I'm so paranoid about my skin. And I don't think that will ever stop. I can't remember a day where I didn't wake up with a big huge painful red pimple on my cheek. Until recent days , and it's never felt so good. I can't wait to have more and more results. Anyone on there first or se
  19. I've heard that making a mixture of borax and water (possibly hydrogen peroxide?) and leaving it on your face overnight can decrease rosacea and facial flushing. Many people have used it for reducing acne caused by rosacea and demodex mites? I'm really unsure of this remedy but many people who have tried it say it has helped them. Anyone know if it's worth a try? Has anyone tried it and is willing to share their experiences???
  20. I just wanted to write a brief history of my experience with acne before going into writing accutane blogs. I have had acne since I was nine years old. When I was younger it was only a few pimples but it got worse throughout middle school. It seemed to calm down in high school and college but I still never had clear skin. Now after graduating college it has all flared up again. When I was in middle school I used Retin-A and differin topical creams that were prescribed to me by my primary c

    Should I stop the treatment?¿

It's been a little of a month and I don't know if I should stop the product because I have a lot of break outs on my chin and in my T zone and I have some cystic pimples but the dryness has gone away but should I stop the treatment???here is a photo
  22. Today is a mixed bag. I don't want to jinx myself but I THINK that I'm getting over my initial breakout. Nothing new came to the surface overnight- no nodules, no pustules, nothing. My face is continuing to look less red and angry, and the five pustules on the right hand side of my skin have shrunk a little bit. In fact all the spots on my face at the minute look a little bit drier and a little bit smaller. I am, however, very well acquainted with all kinds of false hope and I've been told the p
  23. I'm pretty sure I've burned my skin. It's nothing major, but it's pink and really sensitive. I know my skin's just trying to get used to the AHA though, so I won't stop. I'm gonna keep trying to find the right amount to use on my skin until it adjusts properly! Especially because it's working! My skin is way smoother, and I can't wait to use makeup for once That's all! Short post via phone since I don't have computer access on weekends. Peace.
  24. Okay, just a heads up, I am EXHAUSTED in these photos. I took them the minute I woke up, not sure why. Try not to be too alarmed. Anyway, yesterday was pretty brutal. I went about the usual day with what I referred to as my "oatmeal face," which was kind of humorous, but also came from a place of grief. My boyfriend reassured me that my whiteheads weren't that bad before I left to go visit my parents, but I was still bummed about it. I knew they were going away, but they could've been a
  25. I have to say, I'm having trouble seeing any difference in my skin. There was hope for a while, but now it seems like it's back to the way it always was. Here's Week 2 from the "What To Expect" section on the Regimen page: 1. Further clearing, followed perhaps by a breakout. The breakout clears more quickly than usual. Skin is slightly less red and irritated. Red spots from old acne linger. 2. Clearing, followed by a breakout. Skin is still red, irritated and itchy. Person is conside
