  1. Hi all, A little bit about my "regimen": - I've been on Differin for 3.5 months - I've been on Doxy for 1 month - I now use Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Lotion (switched from Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream a week ago, before from Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 15 several weeks prior) - I cleanse with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser Before I started this regimine my acne was on and off for several years. I would be clear for a few months, then have acne for a few months. It would mostly b

    How To Gauge An Icepick?

I'm wondering how do you tell how deep an icepick is? Is it the wider the icepick on the surface, the deeper, or is the depth based on the severity of the blemish that caused it? My icepicks are quite tiny on the surface, caused by little pustules. Do you think they're very deep? I'm trying to figure out what treatment would be best for my icepicks on my cheek but it depends on how deep they are right? Also, how do you avoid icepick scars? What causes you guys's icepicks? Mine occured even thoug

    Cyst on Chin?

Hi, I have dealt with acne a little bit in high school, but not really in college. I am 22 now and have been dealing with a breakout within a square inch on my face for over a month now and I do not know what is going on. I think it started from mistreating a regular pimple, but now I continue to breakout in this one little area and it seems like as soon as one goes away, another one comes. I can have anything from 3-7 in that one little area. I have this one part of the area that is hard
  4. Hey guys im just wondering what kind of acne do i have, i mean i know i do have cyst and all that, but theres like these massive bumps on my right cheek.... and its like a cluster on the jawline and another a few cm away from my lip. This is my right cheek if you can see there are these big bumps... its been there for like a year now.... at first i thought they were keloids... i dont know what they are, but before they become these they were nodules (they dont hurt now btw)... Can someone
  5. Hello friends! Im 26 and new to this site. A few days ago I had a sudden breakout of probably ten whiteheads overnight. Today I have over 40, and my face is very bumpy (washing it feels crazy). It's starting to itch and sting a bit, but I try my best not to touch my face. My acne is all over my cheeks, around the mouth and some down on my neck. My forehead and temple are flawless. Before breaking out, I had switched my cleanser from Neutrogena stress free cream to Alba deep pore gel (becau
  6. Hi. I have had acne since my preteens and have used prescription medication in an attempt to treat it for just as long. After a failed bout with Epiduo, my primary doctor sent me to a formal dermatologist. After a while, I settled into a regimen of Tazorac and Acanya gel, which was sometimes accompanied by an oral antibiotic. Despite the harshness of the combo, my acne persisted. Earlier this year, my dermatologist changed the Tazorac to a stronger dose. Two appointments ago, he replaced the Acy
  7. The three pustules on the right hand side of my chin are drying up and crusting over nicely, the skin getting increasingly flat. However I woke up this morning and found five new red painful under the skin lumps (papules?) on the left hand side. I now have something resembling a red, lumpy, crusty beard. I'm trying to find the comedy in how ridiculous I look at the minute but it's hard. Especially since I've started developing lumps on my jawbone, just before my face becomes my neck, which was a
  8. I can't even find the strength to go to college anymore. I have to make my whole family switch tables at a restaurant just so we don't get direct light over our heads that emphasizes every single one of the thousand pimples that I have, and I have to face the ground every time there's sunlight. Everything either hurts or itches or both, everything is red, and people are so rude, they can't even look me in the eye, their sight always wanders around my face. Everyone that meets me thinks they have
  9. If you have acne on either side of your chin or lower mouth then please read this - It may not be hormonal acne after all! For the past couple of years, I have struggled with (what I thought was) horrible hormonal acne below my mouth, on either side of my chin. It would sometimes go through phases of being more/less fierce, but was usually very prominent. The 'acne' consisted of several lumps/pustules, some of which were pussy and some of which weren't, but it was frequently itchy and painfu
  10. Hey guys, I really need your help since I can't get to a derm soon and need to know what is going in with my skin. I was on Minocycline for 10-11 months and started breaking out on the 7th month after staying clear. However, I am currently weaning off it and I have the worst flare up I have had in months! I cannot seem to decide if what I have is hormonal acne or folliculitis. If you guys do know, I would really appreciate any comments and any suggestion on how to cure this. I got this
  11. About a month ago I went to get a facial at a salon. They did a TERRIBLE job to say the least. I’ve always had pimples now and then come and go but NEVER an acne issue and never something like this before. Ever since the painful facial my skin has been reacting in new pustules every single day on my cheeks, chin, and forehead. I’ve never experienced this and it just keeps coming daily and doesn’t go away. What do I do? I’m so desperate I’ve been crying because I feel hopeless and like my skin wi

  13. My dermatolagist perscribed me Differin 0.3 due to an insane amount of whiteheads and bumps on my cheeks and forehead. I just started my third week and so far I'm not noticing any changes except for peeling and itchiness, especially on my cheeks and chin. As well, my face is quite red and bumpy. I have TONS of whiteheads/pustules on my cheeks, which are really embarrassing, so I inevitably use foundation to cover them and the redness a bit. The makeup I use is Almay Clear Complexion. It is non-c
  14. Since my early teens I had the occasional whitehead. This later cleared in my early 20s for a short period. In my mid 20s however I started getting regular daily whiteheads. A day didn't pass when a new spot would form. This progressed to multiple spots and occasional deep cysts. I am of Asian origin, male with coarse facial hair. I tired several facial products buying a new brand every week to try clear my skin. Each further irritated my skin made things worse. The following is how I managed

    Sudden Breakout?

Hello everyone. I am 20 years old, and haven't had problem skin for about a year now. I got put on birth control and found out I was allergic to gluten and dairy, and ever since then my skin has been perfectly clear. However, a couple weeks ago I woke up with tiny red bumps all over my forehead (I think they're papules). They're really only noticeable when you look really close or touch my forehead. I also noticed that the sides of my nose are bumpy as well, but those bumps aren't visible at all

Did The Aha Make You Break Out?

I decided to go ahead and buy the AHA since the rest of the products worked so great my face had completely cleared up this is my fourth week on it and after I started the AHA I seemed to break out again I have 2 cysts on my chin and pustules on my neck and forehead. Did this happen to anyone else?

    HELP my skin!

Okay so I have using the acne.org regimen for 2 years. Initially it worked very well, but in the last 6 months I have started to develop large pustules on my cheeks and temples. I even included Glycolic acid into my regimen ( 4 months ago) and have showed no signs of improvement. On any given day, I have up 6 pustules on both cheeks and temples. Any suggestions to help get rid of / prevent these pustules from forming!!! THANKS (below is a pic of my cheek sorry for the bad quality)
  18. Today is a mixed bag. I don't want to jinx myself but I THINK that I'm getting over my initial breakout. Nothing new came to the surface overnight- no nodules, no pustules, nothing. My face is continuing to look less red and angry, and the five pustules on the right hand side of my skin have shrunk a little bit. In fact all the spots on my face at the minute look a little bit drier and a little bit smaller. I am, however, very well acquainted with all kinds of false hope and I've been told the p
  19. I'm on my 5th day on acnetrex and my face is suddenly covered with pustules. I'm not sure if this is normal coz i never had this much pustules. It's so ugly. Please anyone who experience the same thing I'm going through right now. I scheduled an appointment with my doctor tomorrow which mean I'm going to miss work again. I can't go to work like this.
  20. Cheap, Effective, 2 Week, Oral Treatment for skin and eye problems caused by microscopic Demodex Skin Mites. If your skin and/or eye problems are caused by demodex mites, this treatment may be a cure. The oral treatment kills the mites all over your body even in hard to reach glands. If you have ocular rosacea (aka blepharitis demodex) it is very important to get it treated before it damages your vision. If your dermatologist did not test you for Demodex mites, you should ask them to do so. 21. To keep it simple, if you are an adult ( > 20) and still have acne, you have a leaky gut. You must be thinking all the time, why those guys eat all the shit (oily, spicy, gluten, dairy, sugar) and still have flawless skin but I feel like being cursed for something I did in my past life. Not your fault my friend. The only fault is where the food is being absorbed. To make it more clear, where the toxins (and undigested) food is being absorbed i.e. Your GUT. Folliculitis or something else

Okay I've been breaking out on my chest. It does not itch, it does not hurt. Some of these bumps are just red and never form a head. The other are filled with a clear fluid when I try to pop them. Then they scab over. Not all of them though like I said before. I was washing with the St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub and that seemed to help for about a month but now it's just worse. My dermatologist prescribed Clindmycin, but that just made it worse. The pictures are a few hours after I used
