  1. Hello all, hope you are doing well! I have been using the same facial cleanser for about a year now and am looking to make a change. I feel as if the wash is not as effective as it used to be. I purchased two products, but I am not sure as to how I introduce them into my routine. Should I temper each product into the regimen over time, or just abruptly add them in? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  2. hi, I'm 14 years old and I've been getting some blackheads on my nose, the ocassional whitehead (maybe once a month) but most of the acne I have is quite mild and looks like skin colored small bumps, mostly on my forehead some on my cheekbones too. I had been using a St. Ives apricot scrub with salicylic acid and now I'm using a gentle purifying face wash with some salicylic acid but no products I've ever used have completely cleared up my skin (except straight tea tree oil) I really need help o
  3. I'm thinking of starting the regimen, since it seems like it has helped a lot of people, but I'm not sure if I want to use alle the products. I allready have a cleanser I like because it's very gentle and not very drying(I've heard the regimen clenaser is quite drying), and since the moisturizer has such bad reviews I thought I'd skip that too( I have my own moisturizer) and only try the benzoyl peroxide. The benzoyl peroxide is supposed to be the actual treatment though, isn't it? Anyhow, woul
  4. Hello! I was wondering if it's okay to replace Dan's cleanser with Cetaphil's and Dan's moisturizer with Cerave's but still use Dan's treatment at the same time? Please reply, help is genuinely appreciated!
  5. Okay so i've been reading a lot that people do not need skin care products, and I completely believe this. But what if your skin is so messed up from genes and a long time of being unhealthy? Also, what if the products are 100% natural and organic? For me, i've been eating healthy (the paleo diet) for half a year, been supplementing on and off, and use 100% natural and organic face skin-care products, yet my skin is trash. What are your answers and thoughts, please comment!!
  6. So i heard from many theories that dairy products may cause/exacerbate acne symptoms. I have cut out diary completely out of my life for around half a year now, but to be honest I didn't feel as if it affected my acne much. As the severity of my pimples did subside a tiny bit, I believe it was more due to my healthy lifestyle (I sleep at least 8 hours, drink 2 liters of water, eat veggies and fruit) than the actual eliminating of the dairy. SO i figured, my acne is probably still due to hor
  7. does anyone have any suggestions for shopping in new zealand?
  8. Hey guys! I need your help. So Im happy to report that Im 90% clear . But Im having two problems and I would really appreciate any help you can give me. First problem is that I have a lot of red marks and general redish spots where acne used to be. How do I get rid of that? Which products are the best to use and how much time will it take for them to disappear? The other problem I am having is that my complexion of skin is worse than before, the colour is uneven. I have a little bit more darke
  9. are there cleansers and mosturisers in can mix on my own because i cant find any listed
  10. Hello all, Newbie to the regimen here. Been trawling these boards and the internet for the past few days trying to figure out what BP I can use. Like a lot of folk I am having no luck in finding 2.5%BP but I do have 10% Duac which I was prescribed by the doctor. Do you think it would be worth trying that out? So far I am using: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser (Missing out the BP, really bad!) Cetaphil Moisturiser I don't want to order the acne.org stuff from the US as it's so expensive to
  11. Okay so I have moderate acne, and I've been dealing with acne for the past five years. I've been on a little bit of everything. I've tried differin, and retin-a, benzaclyn, and much more. However, now is the first time I've had a real regimen, and I'm more informed. My question though, is how do you know when you're using too many different products? My roommate made a comment "you use so much face stuff" the and it got me thinking. Just for reference, I'm still struggling with moderate acne on
  12. Hi guys i'm about to start accutane at the end of the week and just wanted to know what products to use for my new skin regime if u guys could post product names, cost, stores that sell them, how to use and general information about them i would appreciate it so much. I'm new to the website and would like you guys to help me through my journey
  13. Symptom update: My lips are definitely dry, so I have to keep up on the Aquaphor so they don't get too chapped or feel completely awful. The corner of my mouth have started cracking and that has been annoying the last several days. I don't know if it's related to the Accutane, but my lower back has been killing me for about a week and a half. It hasn't been so bad today, but a few days ago it was was definitely hurting. I had to buy some different skincare products because the prod
  14. Here are some side effects I've been experiencing lately: I have noticed dryness in my throat and now in my eyes and nose and most definitely my lips. When I wake up in the morning, my lips are so noticeably dry. I've been using Aquaphor Healing Ointment for my dry lips and it is awesome. I had used Neoporin Lip Health (Daily Hydration Therapy) and it pales in comparison to the Aquaphor. If you are considering or already on Accutane, I highly recommend the Aquaphor Healing Ointment. I hav
  15. Hey everyone! Just to follow up with my last entry, this blog is to help me and others discover ways to make acne leave once and for all, after a long time of investing. All good things come with time. The same goes for our painful and chronic acne issues. I understand how difficult acne can be on our lives...I really want to share any success stories I may encounter with you guys, so that we can all fight acne. My acne is a hormonal issue. No matter what I do, it is almost impossible
  16. So I decided to use Hemp oil (it's not made from Cannabis which is used for smoking). My mom tries to buy natural products, because they are cheaper and not so harsh. By the way, I heard the oils could help heal your natural skin microflora and boost immunity. I am currently using "Himalaya" Neem Cleansing foam and Cannaderm cream for acne ( cream is with 15% of Hemp oil). My skin was combination and now it's oily-normal, Caucasian race. Internally, I take Sea Buckthorn oil and 1000mg Ev
  17. I've been on accutane for 2 weeks today (20mg twice a day). I'd say the first week was the most exhausted I have ever been in my life (and I used to be in the military and survived boot camp and a desert deployment)!! I'm fairly certain 2/3 of that time I was asleep and no amount of caffeine or excitement could rouse me from my accutane coma, trust me I tried. At 2 weeks, I still tire easily, but not nearly as bad. I'm not experiencing any super dryness anywhere...yet, but it could be that I
  18. So, I just wanted to do a quick update on my skincare/makeup. Funny thing is that I don't come back to acne.org when my skin is doing pretty well, but I think I should contribute because this regimen works for me, and because these makeup products work for me. I'm basically on the Daniel Kern Regimen (DKR) but I'm not using any of his products. I'm using other products to substitute for what he uses: Acne.org Cleanser: Avene Cleanance Soapless Gel Cleanser Acne.org Treatment: La Roche
  19. Hello all, I know there are a few threads of this, but most if not all are very old (5years min) I was hoping to see if anyone active here has used Retin-A after an accutane course? Did your derm suggest it? What dosage did you take to start? How did your skin react to it? Thanks guys!
  20. Hi all, This is my summary of accutane course start to finito! My course lasted 5 months to the day and finished yesterday. I started on 40mg for 30 days then 70mg for the remainder. Everyone seems to have different experiences, i aim to be neutral as unfortunately some people have very bad experiences and are biased against accutane. However accutane has saved me. I am confident. Do you know when your fod is covered in bumpy spots and youre in bad lighting and your mates want to take a p
  21. Hello ello ello, So today marks my 1 week of being on Roaccutane. So far, I haven't had many side effects apart from the dry skin which is mainly around my nose and mouth. My skin is a little red but nothing major, kinda just looks I've a bit of a tan on my face so I can't complain! The last few days I've been getting white heads in places I wouldn't usually get them like higher on my cheeks and 2 on my forehead where I NEVER get spots. I find some of them go and come back in the same place

    DAY 1

I took my first Roaccutane tablet last night straight after my dinner. I was apprehensive because the leaflet in the packet still says 'do not take if you have a peanut allergy), but the company 'Roche' and my dermatologist had assured me the peanut oil has been taken out recently, soya is still present (which I am not allergic to). So I took the tablet painlessly without allergic reaction I felt fine but a few hours later I had cramps in my stomach. Not sure if it is related to the tablet
  23. Ok so since I was 13 (I'm 18 now) I've been struggling with acne. Specifically cystic and pustules. I've been on and off plenty products and have always maintained a acne regime that I never missed a day of since I was at least 16. The only time I never woke up and used a product was when I didn't have any. But nothing EVER seemed to work. So I started wondering maybe it has something to do with my lifestyle. Well I went into the army in September of 2017 while I was 17 and to my surprise my fac
  24. Hi! I got a free bottle of the Body shop's Drops of Youth serum. I have veeery sensitive skin and had my worst cystic acne breakout this summer when I tried going off the acne.org regimen and start using products from The Ordinary. My skin is now back to having lots of scarring but no active breakouts. Now the lady in the store told me that she recommends using this product twice a day, but I'm super careful about what I use on my skin now. But also I'm thinking maybe it will help with my scar
