  1. My skin used to be sore, inflamed and embarrassing- due to adult acne... The pain of it meant that even if I wasn't looking in a mirror i couldn't even forget i had acne because I could FEEL THE PAIN OF IT; especially in my cheeks. My partners brother works in skincare and he recommended a product line called 'The ordinary' They are a product line that are ACTIVE ingredients- you know how skin care lines have 'active ingredients' in them- and those active ingredients make up probably
  2. Hey everyone, I am interesting in finding out how other women combat their acne? What types of products you use, where you buy them (how are you willing to spend), how you found them? I am kinda at a loss and also have an interest in getting feedback on this "clean beauty" movement? Do other women use and like cleaner alternatives to some of the current products on the market? I am starting this journey and would love feedback!
  3. I have some scars/decolouration of the skin after some pretty bad acne over the past few years. I have been on doxycycline for around 6 months and my acne is starting to clear but I still have these marks from picking skin etc, and I want to know some of the best/quickest ways to remove and fade the colouring and marks and make my skin clear. Any home treatments, products etc will be appreciated and also anything for future prevention. Also if anyone could tell me what the name of the particular
  4. Hello all, I know there are a few threads of this, but most if not all are very old (5years min) I was hoping to see if anyone active here has used Retin-A after an accutane course? Did your derm suggest it? What dosage did you take to start? How did your skin react to it? Thanks guys!
  5. I used to see a dermatologist but I stopped because of family insurance problems. My dermatologist gave me pills that helped clear my skin so much! But I can’t get a refill anymore. Since then I continued using the Epiduo Forte she prescribed for the morning and Veltin with Flurandrenolide Lotion USP 0.05% at night. ( This medication is used on the skin to treat acne. This medication is a combination of adapalene (a retinoid) and benzoyl peroxide (an antibiotic and skin-peeling agent). This prod
  6. Ok so since I was 13 (I'm 18 now) I've been struggling with acne. Specifically cystic and pustules. I've been on and off plenty products and have always maintained a acne regime that I never missed a day of since I was at least 16. The only time I never woke up and used a product was when I didn't have any. But nothing EVER seemed to work. So I started wondering maybe it has something to do with my lifestyle. Well I went into the army in September of 2017 while I was 17 and to my surprise my fac
  7. Hi, I am from Spain and I want to know how people from Spain could get this product. I want to buy it but there is no shipping to Spain.
  8. Hi! I got a free bottle of the Body shop's Drops of Youth serum. I have veeery sensitive skin and had my worst cystic acne breakout this summer when I tried going off the acne.org regimen and start using products from The Ordinary. My skin is now back to having lots of scarring but no active breakouts. Now the lady in the store told me that she recommends using this product twice a day, but I'm super careful about what I use on my skin now. But also I'm thinking maybe it will help with my scar
  9. Hello, So I have started using the acne.org regimen and I'm seeing slow but progressive improvements! I live in the U.K and the product is very expensive to get shipped all the way from San Francisco! Can anyone who lives in the U.K give me any recommendations on where I can buy things like 2.5% benzoyl peroxide or the 10% glycolic acid? I'm pretty sure I can get them somewhere but don't know where to shop for them. Any recommendations are welcome!!
  10. My face is finally clear, and I have been using Simple Skin 24 hour Cream but they are discontinuing it. So Sadly I need a new product that wont case me break outs.
  11. Hi! So recently, about a week ago I received my Real-U products in the mail. I bought the cleanser, control face gel and lite moisturiser. I actually ran across the store on Instagram and saw a ton of reviews of it that were really positive. Now I know why! This stuff really worked for me! Along with adding Doterra Lemon Oil to my water everyday, this has been the only other thing I've changed in my acne routine and my skin has completely cleared! After struggling with hormonal related for YEARS
  12. Hi, ive been on roaccutane just over a month now, my skin was initially not too bad but I went straight into 40mg dosages which for a slim 16 year old male is a lot. So far it has made my skin worse than ever, both my cheeks are covered in spots. I understand that an initial flare is normal - but surely theres something wrong here? Can someone also tell me which products they recommend? I need a good face wash/moisturiser that will stop my dry peeling skin, but also a lip balm, that will pr
  13. Hey guys, I just wanted to post something different on this forum. I have suffered with acne for 6 years, I have literally tried everything possible and through those six years I have experienced an array of emotions. I have been angry, sad, lonely, depressed, and insecure. I'm not going to tell you that I am at my optimum confidence level or that I even love myself now or more. It seems like people promote that they love themselves after they make their flaws disappear, but that's not always
  14. Hello, I'm from the Philippines and I wanted to share the over-the-counter products I've found that have been working for me. As much as I want to use the original Acne.org products, delivery is way above my budget. I checked the supplies list and scoured the forums, but not many of the products are available here. What I did was look for products that fit the ingredients and description found in the supplies list, and figured they would do. And so far, so good! So just in case there are any
  15. I'm thinking of starting the regimen, since it seems like it has helped a lot of people, but I'm not sure if I want to use alle the products. I allready have a cleanser I like because it's very gentle and not very drying(I've heard the regimen clenaser is quite drying), and since the moisturizer has such bad reviews I thought I'd skip that too( I have my own moisturizer) and only try the benzoyl peroxide. The benzoyl peroxide is supposed to be the actual treatment though, isn't it? Anyhow, woul
  16. Hi everyone, I need help. I still get pimples here and there but not what I used to get. I don't know if I should start the acne org regimen, because what I mostly suffer from is scars. I just ordered the aha +glycolic acid to add in my routine to help with scarring seeing that is my main product. I don't want to start the benzoyl peroxide because my skin is sensitive and I know it is very drying! Ugh, I'm unsure of what to do! Should I just get the glycolic acid wash to incorporate into my rout
  17. Just wondering if any of these products can "go bad" I've had the Aha treatment for a year now and I haven't been using it and I was wondering if it's still okay to use?
  18. Goal: To tighten skin, remove acne dark spots, prevent future breakouts, and remove acne scars. Skin type: Sensitive and oily (usually) Products: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream (moisturizer) Raw Organic AppleCider Vinegar mixed with spring water (1 Part water mixed with 1 part vinegar) 'THAYERS' Witch Hazel Alcohol-free toner "Aztec Secret" Indian healing Clay Mario Badescu drying lotion Products I am considering purchasing in the
  19. Hi everyone, so my friend recommend me these: She said it actually cleared her skin and made it smooth and youthful. She said it may help me with my blemishes and prevent future breakouts. I was just wondering, would any of you guys recommend this? Or has anyone ever tried it? What was your experience with this stuff? Thank you guys.
  20. Right, so I have been suffering from these bumps across my forehead for about 6 months. I've tried benzoyl peroxide in hopes that it would clear away these bumps for about 1 month. It dried up my skin completely although did not remove the bumps. I'm starting to think that it is some sort of folliculitis as they first started across my hair line and gradually moved towards between my eyebrows and a few near my nose next to my cheeks. I've tried Nizarol and this has cleared up the bumps to some e
  21. I feel like I'm sabotaging my own skin and am considering quitting all my acne products. I get some hormonal acne but I feel like what I dislike about my skin more is that it seems to be irritated all the time with constant fresh zits. I'm afraid my skin will react badly if I quit using all my products: Morning: Proactive Step 1 Proactive Step 2 Aczone Moisturelle Moisturizer Bareminerals makeup primer bare minerals foundation-beamish remedy Night: proactive steps 1 and 2 epiduo fort
  22. I've just finished my last refill of Epiduo. It's the only thing that has work on my breakouts so I'm sad to see it go. My acne isn't bad enough to go back to the dermatologist so I need a new, over-the-counter acne cream that works as well as Epiduo. Anyone have any suggestions?!
  23. Hi there. I need help :(. I live in the UK and just cannot afford to pay £110 on the acne.org 8oz regimen kit. (Product cost and delivery) excluding importation costs. (£15) my skin is taking ages to clear. I've been using alternatives as follows... Clenser- Olay face wash BP - Nuetrogena 2.5% on the spot Moistoriser - Cetaphil ive been doing this for 6 weeks only for the results to reflect negatively. I've never ever had acne on my cheeks and now I do. My face looks like a tomato. G
  24. Hello guys! So here's an idea. I think we should have a special topic dedicated to ways to cover up indented scars, either on a daily basis or for special occasions etc. I don't think this topic should be under Cosmetics & Grooming, because it easily gets lost there between all the topics related to acne only. I guess we all know that hiding acne and hiding scars are two different things and most people who suffer from scarring visit the Scar treatments subforum only. Also, covering up sca
