  1. Hey guys, I just wanted to post something different on this forum. I have suffered with acne for 6 years, I have literally tried everything possible and through those six years I have experienced an array of emotions. I have been angry, sad, lonely, depressed, and insecure. I'm not going to tell you that I am at my optimum confidence level or that I even love myself now or more. It seems like people promote that they love themselves after they make their flaws disappear, but that's not always
  2. Hi everyone, I need help. I still get pimples here and there but not what I used to get. I don't know if I should start the acne org regimen, because what I mostly suffer from is scars. I just ordered the aha +glycolic acid to add in my routine to help with scarring seeing that is my main product. I don't want to start the benzoyl peroxide because my skin is sensitive and I know it is very drying! Ugh, I'm unsure of what to do! Should I just get the glycolic acid wash to incorporate into my rout
  3. Hello guys! So here's an idea. I think we should have a special topic dedicated to ways to cover up indented scars, either on a daily basis or for special occasions etc. I don't think this topic should be under Cosmetics & Grooming, because it easily gets lost there between all the topics related to acne only. I guess we all know that hiding acne and hiding scars are two different things and most people who suffer from scarring visit the Scar treatments subforum only. Also, covering up sca
  4. Hey, heads up that Clear Skin Weekend is giving away free boxes of the Clear Skin Weekend kit, which is an educational acne kit that gives people with a step-by-step checklist to eliminate acne. From the company blog: With the kit, you get a copy of the Clear Skin Weekend Guidebook, one honey facial wash and one moisturizing tea tree oil. As an extra bonus, the Clear Skin Weekend kit comes with a free aloe vera plant (the acne guidebook teaches you how to use the plant for acne scars and do-it
  5. Hello, I was wondering if it's okay to replace Dan's cleanser with Cetaphil's and Dan's moisturizer with Cerave's but still using Dan's treatment simultaneously? Please reply, help's appreciated!
  6. Hey everyone! I've finally reached that point where I can be *proud* of my complexion: acne-free and, not only that, but, GLOWING (*touches wood*)! So, I thought, hey, why not share what products I use and my skin-care regimen to a few people. Maybe it'll help you? I should start with how my skin looked previously and the severity of my acne. I had your usual teenage spots, 1-3 spots on my face at any time, both REALLY small and large (at one point, one spot was the size of a 5 pence coin!)
  7. Ok so I am in the midst of crisis and any kind of help or ideas would help. So I am 39 and have always had a fairly good complexion. No major problems with acne, not even as a teenager. About 3 months ago I started getting this big deep, subcutaneous lumps. One or two at first. I kept to my rutine thinking it must just be almost that time of the month. Within a week or so of the first my entire right cheek was covered i cystic acne and a forehead full of big, fat whiteheads! I freak out, which p
  8. Recently, a family member bought me Clean and Clear Advantage Oil Absorbing Cream Cleanser and Clean and Clear Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Reviving Cleanser as a gift. I had a bad experience in the past with Clean and Clear, because I used it about a year ago, my skin always burned and I had marks/rashes on parts of my face. I imagine that it was an allergic reaction. So I was a bit apprehensive when my family member bought this for me. But I didn't want to be rude and not use it. I used it, a
  9. I think the dry lips might have started this morning. I’ve been using my Aquaphor Healing Ointment everyday to try to stay ahead of the dry lips – I heard that sometimes that’s the worst part about the Accutane experience, so I’m trying to keep my lips as moist as possible to avoid the crazy dryness. But, I seem to have a lot of dryness in my throat. I feel like I have super bad breath too. Gross. Water is really my best friend right now. I stay up on my moisturizer too so my skin doesn’t dry o
  10. I'm looking to order some more products and if there is anyone in Toronto that would like to share shipping, let me know!
  11. Hey, I start my first prescription of isotretinoin/accutane tomorrow and I'm wondering what the best skincare products are to use? I bought a Cetaphil moisturiser today, as well as a La Roche-Posay cleanser, lipbalm and moisturiser. Do people recommend getting a Cetaphil cleanser too? Possibly a body wash and body lotion? Everything else I have at the moment is scented and will be too harsh on my skin whilst on the meds. Any advice is really appreciated. Lizzie x
  12. Hello! I was hoping to get some ideas from others routines, so if you would be so kind as to tell me what you do in the AM and PM as far as skincare, that would be great. (: Morning: Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types Neutrogena moisture for combo skin Night: Neutrogena RapidClear oil eliminating cleanser (to remove makeup) Cetaphil cleanser for all skin types (to cleanse after makeup removal) Equate BP 2.5% treatment AcneFree Terminator 5% BP (for spot treatment on active blemishe
  13. Hi everyone, This is my first time writing on this website and I just wanted to get some feed back from the users. I'll start off by saying that I have struggled with acne for almost 10 years. I have used almost every over the counter medication, been to numerous dermatologists, spent weeks hiding in my room after acne peels, and as a last ditch effort to cure my acne started a cycle of Accutane. My acne is now at bay but I still get occasional breakouts around 'that time of the month' and al
  14. Hi, I've always had spots, I just never have seen it as acne. I'm 15 and have had spots since I was about 12. I have blackheads on my nose, a lot of them, a few lumps under my skin, that when popped, puss comes out and some red kind of lumps over my face, mainly in certain areas (Temples, side of my chin) I also have a few spots on my chest and a lot on my back. I am wondering what products I should buy to help clear this up, mainly the red lumps, the black heads would be nice too, but don't
  15. I feel like I'm sabotaging my own skin and am considering quitting all my acne products. I get some hormonal acne but I feel like what I dislike about my skin more is that it seems to be irritated all the time with constant fresh zits. I'm afraid my skin will react badly if I quit using all my products: Morning: Proactive Step 1 Proactive Step 2 Aczone Moisturelle Moisturizer Bareminerals makeup primer bare minerals foundation-beamish remedy Night: proactive steps 1 and 2 epiduo fort
  16. Right, so I have been suffering from these bumps across my forehead for about 6 months. I've tried benzoyl peroxide in hopes that it would clear away these bumps for about 1 month. It dried up my skin completely although did not remove the bumps. I'm starting to think that it is some sort of folliculitis as they first started across my hair line and gradually moved towards between my eyebrows and a few near my nose next to my cheeks. I've tried Nizarol and this has cleared up the bumps to some e
  17. I've just finished my last refill of Epiduo. It's the only thing that has work on my breakouts so I'm sad to see it go. My acne isn't bad enough to go back to the dermatologist so I need a new, over-the-counter acne cream that works as well as Epiduo. Anyone have any suggestions?!
  18. Hi there. I need help :(. I live in the UK and just cannot afford to pay £110 on the acne.org 8oz regimen kit. (Product cost and delivery) excluding importation costs. (£15) my skin is taking ages to clear. I've been using alternatives as follows... Clenser- Olay face wash BP - Nuetrogena 2.5% on the spot Moistoriser - Cetaphil ive been doing this for 6 weeks only for the results to reflect negatively. I've never ever had acne on my cheeks and now I do. My face looks like a tomato. G
  19. Hi, I am from Spain and I want to know how people from Spain could get this product. I want to buy it but there is no shipping to Spain.
  20. Hi everyone :-) I'm 17 year old guy who started suffering acne around 14/15 years old...feels like I haven't been able to breath properly since then! Has anyone tried the acne.org products\regime? Sad to say but these products are all I can think of at the moment!!! I just want to have clear skin already, would do anything!! I keep thinking that these products could give me a chance, some reassurance, just, something. I've just recently recovered from my first experience with tonsillitis which
  21. Hi to all the Australians out there doing Dan's famous Regimen! I am so annoyed at searching the chemist stores to find all these foreign products people are using in other countries, that I have decided to just made my own post to get direct help and maybe even help somebody else out there living in the same country as me who are having the same issues. I would appreciate it if ONLY people who live here in Australia comment their products they use. OR If you used to live here and found pro
  22. Hi Everyone. I have had a crazy experience my my face going out of control on me, it started June 2012. It had cycles. June 2012 - June 2013 it went through all sorts of stages. It started as patches of acne, to big huge patches of acne, to extremely inflamed acne. When I say inflamed, I mean like my whole face felt like it was a puzzle of under ground cyst. I never had problems with acne before, but always used oil free make up. I eat extremely healthy and didn't change my diet. The only
  23. Are you ready for another log.. well, wait no more I am 35, a woman, mother, hard worker, and prior to 2013, a totally confident individual. I have always had some acne, but never to the extreme that its at now. And let's not even talk about the post inflammatory hyper pigmentation. I have seen 4 dermatologists, a nurse practitioner, an esthetician, a holistic healer, an endocrinologist, an ob/gyn, and my family practitioner (my apologies if I forgot anyone). I have been told its
  24. Hi there, for those of you on the accutane journey, those of you who are considering it and those that have finished. This is my own experience this far. Anyone is welcome to share ) I personally know how discouraging it can be to deal with acne, especially cystic--- the scarring and concerns of further scarring are what finally convinced me this was my next step. I had never dealt with acne until my late 20s. I have tried everything else .... And was willing to try anything... Except accutane
  25. I'm starting accutane in a few days, so i've been doing my research and buying the right products I should be using for my skin while I'm on the drug. I'm thinking of buying the QV gentle wash, because I'm not really a fan of the cetaphil gentle cleanser. It doesn't have any active ingredients or anything and has generally higher reviews than cetaphil so I'm not too worried about that But their QV lotion contains active ingredients: Soft white paraffin 5.0%, glycerol 5.0%. Hydroxybenzoat
